Mews PMS & Property Operations

We operate a contactless hotel and are running into a recurring issue with last-minute bookings being assigned to dirty rooms in Mews.We do not have every room cleaned daily, but we consistently have multiple clean and inspected rooms available to accommodate these bookings. The problem is that Mews does not provide an option to prioritize clean rooms during the assignment process. The only available options are top-down, bottom-up, or randomized, which results in guests occasionally being assigned to rooms that are not ready.Given that room status (clean/inspected/dirty) is already tracked in the system, it seems like a basic requirement that last-minute bookings be assigned to a clean or inspected room by default.This is creating operational issues for us and negatively impacting guest experience and reviews. Because we operate without a traditional front desk, we do not always have the ability to manually reassign rooms, especially for after-hours bookings.

Monat 3 seit der MwSt für Speisen in Deutschland. Es war ein toller Release, Upsells auf Basis des von Gast gebuchter Rate verwalten zu können. Für einige kurze Wochen konnten wir unser Frühstück vor dem Check-in im Gästeportal bewerben, was sich deutlich auf unsere im Voraus gebuchten Frühstücke auswirkte (Positiv für die Planung). Dann kam die neue MwSt für Speisen. Wir haben das Upsell in unserer Buchungsmaschine für Raten ohne Frühstück entfernt, da die Gäste nicht verstanden haben, dass sie sowohl Speisen als auch Getränke Produkte hinzufügen müssen. Unsere Frühstücksvorbuchungen sind deutlich zurückgegangen.Beim Berliner Roundtable im Januar gab es einen Hinweis auf eine mögliche „Produktbündel“-Funktion. Ist das noch im Gespräch oder hat jemand inzwischen einen anderen Workaround? 

Hallo liebe Community,seit der neuen Ledger-Funktion haben wir ein Problem mit den ausstehenden Salden.Bisher haben wir die Gegenkonto-Funktion immer als Abgleich und Kontrolle für offene Rechnungen genutzt. Seit dem letzten Update werden jedoch bei Erstattungen und Gutschriften diese Positionen weiterhin mit unterschiedlichen Salden angezeigt, anstatt – wie zuvor – mit 0 Saldo ausgeblendet zu werden.Ein Beispiel habe ich im Anhang beigefügt.Da wir dieses Tool in der Buchhaltung als Übersicht für offene Rechnungen verwenden, befürchten wir, dass die Liste durch weitere Gutschriften zunehmend „zugemüllt“ wird und der Überblick verloren geht. Vom Support wurde uns bereits ein Workaround über Excel empfohlen, was in der täglichen Praxis allerdings wenig sinnvoll erscheint.Hat jemand ähnliche Erfahrungen

Hello everybody,I have a question with regards to LOS restrictions. In the summer time we have a minimum LOS restriction of 4 nights. Now the board is filling up nicely with reservations and there are several gaps forming of 3 nights or less across the whole summer / catagories. Right now we have it set up as a LOS restriction per rate / room type for the summer period.  Is the only way to open up these gaps, to adjust each restriction to end right before a gap and create a new one that starts afterwards? That seems super work intensive and tedious. (considering across 60 rooms there are quite a few gaps, at seperate days)  Any tips / tricks? The chatbot is driving me insane. 

Hallo,gibt es eigentlich mittlerweile eine Lösung um zu sehen wie viele Zustellbetten man noch zur Verfügung hat bzw. das man die Anzahl der verfügbaren Zustellbetten hinterlegen kann? Wir setzen uns im Moment immer eine Aufgabe. Aber das wird leider zu schnell unübersichtlich.

Hi Everyone!We have recently set up the MEWS KIOSK in our Tablet and I wanted to ask, if there is a way to disable the automatic check in after filling up the details and signing the digital card? We just want to use the app just as a digital registration card. I tried to find some answers in the community and with MEWS AI as well but couldn’t figure out exactly. Any kind of support will be much appreciated!Peace,Niko

Can i ask what you use to check new reservations on day to day basis? Per now, there is no notifications on new reservations from day to day.  Since Mews allocates rooms automatically - it would be nice to have a popup or donut in the dashboard for “new reservation” on day to day basis.  Mews have notification for future reservation that gets booked - but this doesnt help day to day front office.  Best regardsHaris - Ole Bull Bergen, Norway

Hello out there, does anyone work with Room Price Genie, then you can request a new feature to be displayed directly in your Mews PMS, with out switching to Room Price Genie. It's called Revenue Intelligence in Mews. Would be great to see many Mewsers to contact your sales rep to request the integration. Yes, billing automation having just gotten smarter was a windfall for our operation. As a small property with few Staff members, all of us hold many roles on a daily basis. We have no accounting or finance department, no IT department, to name just a few. When billing automation rolled out, automatically sorting charges into bills by stay dates and whether they are owned by an OTA or a Guest erased many of the accidental billing issues we had to correct when a Guest was incorrectly charged for a future stay or for an OTA-paid stay, billing the Guest’s credit card instead of the virtual credit card.I would never want to go back to where we began. I would, however, like to understand why there is not an automated method to close OTA bills like there is for closing Guest-owned bills when they’re at a $0.00. I do not put this task on my Front Desk Staff member because s/he may often be redeployed to assist Housekeeping when we have high Guest turnover during the weekends. Instead

We’ve received our first invoice and I notice it has PMS Advanced as the subscription. As we require and Open API, is this subscription correct, or has there been an oversight? I also note the Analytics in the Enterprise subscription. Although we are small (mum and pop shop with a cleaner), each of our 13 individual serviced apartments is treated as a separate property. Each can have different targets (largely down to the apartment owners’ individual expectations). Looking at detail per property rather than generally overall is really important in this small portfolio. Do we need to be on Enterprise to get the open API? Hallo zusammen,Am Wochenende haben wir aktuell einen Mindestaufenthalt von zwei Nächten. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, kurzfristig (X-Tage vorher ) automatisch freie Kapazitäten auch für nur eine Nacht freizugeben? Ich bekomme die Einstellung leider nicht hin. Vielen Dank vorab :-)

Hallo ihr lieben, folgender Fall:Eine große Reservierung mit verschiedenen An- und Abreisedaten, sowie Personenanzahlen in den Zimmern. Den regulären Frühstückspreis möchten wir für diese gesonderte Reservierung herabsetzen. Um die Vorabrechnung korrekt zu erstellen, aber auch die Checkliste für Produkte nutzen zu können, buchen wir das über den “Posten” Reiter in der Reservierung. Hier kann ich aber keine Preisänderung eintragen, ohne den Preis des gesamten Produktes für alle Reservierungen zu ändern. Ist das ein “Feature-Request” oder steh ich auf dem Schlauch? Vielen Dank!

Hallo zusammen,wir haben aktuell ein wiederkehrendes Problem in Mews und würden gerne wissen, ob andere Betriebe das ebenfalls beobachten.Bei uns kommt es regelmäßig vor, dass Rechnungen beim Erstellen bzw. Laden im Steuerregister hängen bleiben. In dieser Zeit können die Rechnungen weder per E-Mail versendet noch ausgedruckt werden. Teilweise dauert die Bestätigung nur ein paar Sekunden, teilweise aber auch mehrere Minuten oder sogar Stunden. Besonders häufig tritt das Problem gefühlt am Wochenende auf.Die Meldung lautet dabei:„Deine Rechnung wird angezeigt, sobald wir eine Bestätigung vom Steuerregister erhalten haben. Einen Moment bitte.“ Für den operativen Ablauf an der Rezeption ist das inzwischen ziemlich problematisch, weil Gäste auf ihre Rechnung warten und der Check-out unnötig verzögert wird.Daher unsere Fragen in die Runde: Hat jemand von euch aktuell das gleiche Problem?

Is there a way to send a confirmation from the availability blocks before the rooms are picked up? with a summary of total rooms blocked of each category. Price per night and total price for entire booking?

Howdy folks!We have a boutique resort with a day spa and bistro (breakfast, lunch, high tea, and pop up dinners). I say in a micro learning video that you can use bookable services and spaces for day use items but struggling to find any use cases and best practices in terms of structure. Key questions:How would you set up dining spaces so that you can take multiple reservations in the dining room for the same time? Would we need to create a space for each table? How do you manage therapist availability in the spa booking aspect? Is there a way to easily copy existing products from other bookable services? For dining, would we need to create a separate rate for each type of(breakfast, lunch, etc) or would they be upsells for a dining rate?Examples from teams actually using this feature this way would be great. NOTE: We are in the US so POS and Events are not released here yet. Dear Mews team First of all, 6 years ago when we switched to Mews, it was because of the modern platform with most functions ready to use for one price.Over the years we saw improvements, especially due to the fact that Mews software engineers started listening to people working at full service hotels with real staff and real guestsI fully understand that improvements have to be continued and that efficiency is kingI really thought that paperless is going to be the future, so I am very surprised to see what will be happening to the Reservation report which we all find on main commander screenOn screen it is REALLY useful.All our staff can quickly see what happened in the last hour, and for additional enquiries there are filters (top). Easy to edit and make changes (there are always changes)Several points I wish to mention and hope that actual reservation report stays as it is, or improvements will be implemented asap in the new

Dear team,Previously, when managing a reservation via the status screen, it was easy to click on the customer name for his/her details, and simply press the ‘back/return’-button to go back to the status screen.This handy feature existed until not so long ago, but now seems to have gone.Would it be possible to re-introduce this ‘back/return’-button on the customer profile (linking back to the status page of the reservation)?
