Hallo zusammen,ich hatte mich vor einiger Zeit schon an Mews gewandt, da seit gut zwei Monaten die Benachrichtigung-Mails von Mews bzgl. neuen Topics in Community bei mir nicht mehr angezeigt werden. Leider habe ich bisher von Mews noch keine Info erhalten. Geht es noch jemanden so?

Hi - We are not using the housekeeping functionality - and it is a bit of extra time each day to mark each room as inspected.  Is there a way to turn off the changing status?  So that we are always in the green - unless we mark the room as “out of service” or “house use” ?Thanks !

Hi everybody,please note, that Mews uses an old Booking.com API that apparently leads to a validation warning. One of my customers got overbooked which is why we checked the Channel Manager Queue. According to a reply message from Booking Mews uses a deprecated API version, see below. Not yet fully sure, the overbooking happened due to the old API usage, however, I want to raise awareness here so you check your Booking.com reservations or high demand dates for overbookings. There might be other reasons for the overbooking. Still using an old API version is not very comforting especially when it also comes with a validation warning when pushing inventory to Booking.com.There is a ticket open, so I am sure Mews is having a closer look.Kind regardsTobias  

We are looking for a way to customize our emails for certain dates. For example, we want to send a different confirmation email when people book for certain dates (think of Christmas). We would like to know if there are solutions for this within Mews or with an integration.

Hi, is there a way to turn off the Overbooking function?We’re a small property with very different categories, we therefore do not want to be able to be overbooked as guests choose & book the category they want - and so usually do not want to upgrade to a higher category.For example we have just had an overbooking for one category which is a room but the higher category is a self catering house!  We are on diffusive.thank you so much in advance!

When creating packages most properties add the product price on top of the night price 🛌🍴 What happens if your product is already included in your night price (the one you set up in the rate) but you still need to show the ventilation on your accounting report? 📊 It is actually quite easy to set up!The idea is to create twice the same product and add them both to the product rule. One product will have the actual price of the ventilation and be linked to the correct accounting category and the other product will have the price in negative and be linked to the accommodation category. Of course when creating the product the option “bill as package” should be ticked in both the product and the general bookable service settings. 🔧Since the negative product will only be used for the package I recommend disabling both the options “offer to customer” and “offer to employees”. 🚫

How can I reduce the availability/bookability of our hotel to a maximum of 1 year (for the OTAs). And where do I set the general prices for the rooms?

Hello everybody!I am currently in the process of setting up our system as a new customer.Is there a way to add a html snippet anywhere that is used as a footer in all outgoing emails to customers / guests? Since legally we are required to include certain company information on any official communication, that would by great. Because as of now it looks like I had to manually add and maintain this info in all email templates in all languages. A very tedious and inefficient work…Any ideas? Hello,We want to use the Mews Dasboard in our office on large screens to have a up to date overview of bookings, arrivals and check-outs. But after a few hours we have to log on to Mews again. How can we arrange to have the Mews Dashboard vissable, refreshed but not have to log on every few hours?

Good evening everyone,  As background, we are a 100% self service hotel. We do not have a receptionist sitting at a desk in the lobby. We utilize the MEWS kiosk. We operate out of Costa Rica, where the MEWS terminal is not an option. Guests all have paid 100% of their reservation before they set foot in the lobby.  One of our methods of ensuring an easy payment on checkout day is to always have an (enabled) card on file. For single bookings, that is not an issue, as the card is added and enabled automatically. For group bookings however, this is not possible to do as guests don’t book their own rooms. We are trying to find a way to avoid manually adding guests credit cards for group bookings of let’s say 20+ rooms. Both at reception and calling people before their arrival is very intrusive. Sending guests a 1 dollar payment request before their arrival is actually feasible though. The issue with that is that it doesn’t save the card, and so

Hi gyus How do you manage having a currency conversion rate in the reception where it is lower than the official without changing the currency rate in mews? if we change the rate in MEWS it will affect the IBE exchange rate. we are NOT interested in adding fees.

Hello everybodyWhile setting up Mews and especially the breakfast products we put them as consumed “before night” and not “after night” as we should have. It escaped the vigilance of our account manager and ours...😩 The result is that now while printing our F&B breakfast list (using the products report) there is 1 day gap. Indeed the number of the breakfasts products for let’s say the 15th of November is actually the one of the 14th of November and so on (see below): We have tried to correct it of course by setting the concerned products to “after night”, but it does not seem to be updating everyhting that as already been registered in Mews. Hi Community,Currently unable to find this or post a new idea in the ideas forum so bringing this to the community team. We have had the issue for many years now that when fully booked only those with overbooking rights can split a reservation. Are we missing a workaround? Obviously we do not want to give the whole team overbooking rights and it is a waste of time needing managers to split each reservation. Thanks, 

Hello in the round,We have here in Germany as of the 1.01.2024 a food tax increase from 7% to 19%, the problem that we are having is that all food products booked before the start of January for our up coming bookings have not increased to the new tax of 19% so that we have to go through all bookings individually and manuel cancel the food products and repost so that the tax changes from 7% to 19% is corrected. This is more than time consuming and wanted to ask if there is another way to bypass having to do this. In the background we have changed the tax but it seems that Mews was unable to correct the pre-exisiting posted food items from 7% to 19%. The biggest problem is that on every booking the breakfast must be corrected… which is very time consuming. We have tried to contact Mew Tech, but have yet to receive feedback if they can correct it, and have been informed that we should leave all bookings open until the problem is corrected. Hi allI’ve inheritied a bit of a mess and I see in Expedia I have “Standalone Rate” and “Package Rate”.  When I’m doing the mapping from MEWS → SiteMinder → Expedia; I’m choosing the Standalone Rate.However in the Siteminder help file it says:Package ratesPackage rates are displayed with the word "Package". This type of rate is a price-bundle deal consisting of products, services, and extras — from flights, car rentals, and insurance, to tours and other activities. Their prices are calculated by Expedia, so our platform does not send pricing to Expedia. Restrictions are also frequently blocked by the channel.💡 Like linked rates, these rates share availability with the “SellRate” and must be mapped. I don’t see how to map these?  Any thoughts?  Should I disactivate the Package rates in Expedia? Merry Christmas!

Hi fellow users!We want to prevent check-ins to be completed if there is an outstanding balance. we are operating Hostels and all our bookings should be pre-paid. We’ve tried using the “preauthorization required” under visit option, but that didn’t work as expected. any other solutions before I raise this as an improvement request. thanks!Michael

Hey Community, We recently  looked at out analytics of how people use our direct booking engine and figured that we loose more than 50% after people place their reservation into the busket. I wonder if there are some stats to see what causes this and how that looks like for other Propertys?  Also wondering how to encourage people in the last step of the booking engine to actually make the booking.  Happy to get some insights here :) BestHendrik

Hi,I am looking to understand in more detail the automatic settlement logic for reservations with unassociated payment cards. Basically, I want to take manual preauths for automatic preauths that have failed, either for those reservations with unassociated cards or for those whose associated card has failed. I am afraid that if I take a manual preauth and it passes, then if the customer subsequently  fills his online check in form, the auto preauth may be triggered, resulting in a double preauth. What logic does mews use when an auto preauth fails, I have done some tests where it doesn’t seem to reschedule the auto preauth even if the customer subsequently associates a payment card but I am not sure if that behaviour is 100% true in all cases...

Hello Mews addicts,who can help me for setting up a booking banner on our wordpress site. Right now I have a booking button that links to a url outside of our own site.
