Hi, We operate a no-refund policy, issuing vouchers for any prepaid amounts on billing we would like to turn the remaining balance into a voucher through billing to be used at a later point. Has anyone got any experience in this? Is it possible? Kendall

Hallo zusammen,wie habt ihr die Zahlungsübertragung von HNS IBE in Mews gelöst?Mir wurde gesagt, dass in HNS IBE die Kreditkartendaten der Gäste abfragt werden über einen anderen Zahlungsanbieter als MewsPay. HNS übermittelt an Mews dann die Karten Nummer und das Ablaufdatum und Mews bucht den Anzahlungsbetrag dann mit Hilfe dieser beiden Parameter ab.Ist das ein automatisierter Prozess oder muss hier manuell die Abbuchung gestartet werden? Was sind eure Erfahrungen?Vielen Dank für die Hilfe!

We use the wireless terminal at the Front Desk, and our Wi-Fi is fast. It works very well overall, but there is a delay between when you charge the guest and when the payment is posted to the bill.Sometimes the guest becomes unsure and asks us questions like: “What does it say here?” Often the terminal displays messages such as: Enter code Multi currency Various messages about why the transaction didn’t go through Card not read correctly It would be great if the terminal’s status messages were also shown in the Mews UI, so that staff could follow the payment status and assist the guest when they ask questions on what steps to take.Just like you currently see a short confirmation in the upper right corner when a payment has been completed, it would be helpful to also see the status before the payment is finalized. 

Hello — we’d like to test payment automation for card pre-authorization. How does this work for hotels that are already using it? My main concern is that pre-authorizations might be attempted on virtual cards or travel-agency cards. Has anyone had success with this? Thanks! 🌼

When guests use these services, for instance by having their card stored in their mobile or watch, the card cannot be reactivated for payment of food or other items. This happens because the technology behind it has created a virtual card number (different from the guest’s real one). I’m wondering if anyone knows a workaround? Thanks!

When charging Secret Escapes Virtual cards in Mews, it's sending the guest a payment successful email, but does not for our other OTA virtual cards?

Ein Gast hat per E-Mail gebucht, und die Reservierung wurde manuell in Mews eingetragen. Wir haben bereits eine Zahlungsaufforderung gesendet, und der Gast hat einen kleinen Betrag bezahlt. Allerdings wurde die Kreditkarte nicht im Gastprofil gespeichert, da Mews die Karte nach der Bezahlung deaktiviert hat.Wir möchten die Kreditkarte über Mews erneut anfordern, damit sie im Profil des Gastes aktiv hinterlegt wird und im Bedarfsfall (z. B. No-Show oder Zusatzkosten) belastet werden kann. Wie können wir das über Mews umsetzen?

Hello!We can charge virtual cards from Expedia for prepaid/nonrefundable reservations starting immediately after the booking has been created.we have set up payment policy for automatic charging accordingly. Until approx. 20.8.2024 that worked perfectly well, the virtual cards have been charged automatically. We did not change anything since than and now payments are automatically scheduled for the day of checkin instead of right away. According to mews help that is the case when the channel manager (in our case D-Edge) does not send CC activation date information. D-Edge says they never did… do I guess Mews changed the behavior sometime in August 2024. ​@Mews Community Team  can you verify that?what can we do to resume automatic charging of VCC at the time of reservation creation?is anyone else observing this change? How do you cope? It would be a pity if we had to manually charge those cards again..best

Hallo zusammen!Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich es hinbekommen kann, dass Gäste, die über unsere Website gebucht und per Paypal bezahlt haben, nicht diese Mail bekommen, dass keine Zahlkarte verknüpft ist? Kann man diese Mail ausstellen? ich finde nur, wo ich die anderen Mails deaktivieren kann, aber diese Mail ist nicht dabei.Ich bekomme immer wieder Anrufe von Gästen, die fragen, warum sie trotz Paypal-Zahlung eine Kreditkarte angeben sollen. Viele haben Bedenken, dass ihre Buchung jetzt nicht akzeptiert wird.Leider wird die Paypal-Zahlung in Mews ja auch nicht als Zahlung direkt mitverbucht, wie das bei der Kreditkarte der Fall ist. Ich hoffe, das kommt noch in nächster Zeit.Wie geht ihr damit um? Gibt es einen “Workaround”?Viele GrüßeHeike

Hello! I am still struggeling with my question regarding routing automated payments in Mews Operations - This is mainly an issue for conference guests. They are almost always supposed to go on an Invoice to the company. I used a rate I have created called “KK rom” for all of my conference guests. So since there is no company attached to this rate I can not route it to the company. Would I have to create a seperate rate for all of the companies visiting us for conferences to make this work? We of course have some rates for contract customers that are set up with individual rates but a lot of these will pay individually if they are visiting us for a job but when they are here for a conference it will go on an invoice. Would I then have to have 2 different rates for each company? One for when they should pay on checkin/checkout and one for Invoicing?  We have 100s of companies visiting us so if I have to make an individual rate and then a routing for each of t

Hi everyoneI was wondering if you could help me with the following issue. Some of the hotels in our group are unstaffed during the night. For Booking.com guests, we work exclusively with VCCs. However, we’ve noticed that some guests check in outside of reception hours, consume extras on-site (such as minibar), and never show up for check-out — leaving their bill unpaid.Through online check-in, we can encourage guests to add a credit card in advance and follow this up manually.Ideally, it would be great if MEWS allowed us to send an “Add credit card request”, similar to a payment request but without a specific amount. This way, the reception team could send this for each reservation and follow up more easily.What are your thoughts on this? Or any other suggestions to solve this operational challenge?

Hallo Mewser, unser erster Monat mit Mews ist nun rum. Unser Steuerbüro hat den ersten Export über Datev erhalten. Da die Gebühren für das Mews Payment vom Umsatz abgezogen werden, gibt es gerade noch eine Diskrepanz. Meine Frage: Wo finde ich in Mews eine klare Aufstellung, welche Gebühren genau von den Zahlungen unserer Gäste einbehalten wurden? We will have Mews PMS inkl. Payment and Travelclick IBE + CM with another Payment Provider. We would prefer to make Guests pay via Mews Pay to have the CC Info in mews. Does anyone has an idea how we could handle this with mews?I only know that this is possible with the Online C/I, but we would like to receive the money earlier for example non ref bookings. Hi everyone,I'm trying to find a way to view a report that shows the specific promo codes our guests have used.We can create unlimited promo codes linked to a single Voucher in Mews. However, the booking report that groups by voucher only displays the associated Voucher ID, not the individual promo code that was actually applied. This makes it really difficult for us to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.I've also tried extracting this data via the API (as we have access), but the booking reservation only includes the Voucher ID, not the unique promo code.Has anyone found a solution for this, or is there a report I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We regularly see your CEO highlighting how Mews saves time and money, and how it improves operational efficiency.Unfortunately, today we are facing a situation that contradicts those claims, and it is seriously impacting our guest experience.We urgently need a solution to a payment-related issue. A guest has requested a detailed breakdown of payments linked to his reservation. Specifically, for the stay from June 17th to 19th, we need to allocate and split the amount of CHF 905.05 by credit card, so it matches the invoice exactly. As you can see, several prepayments have already been made, but we cannot process them in the way the guest requires.This is a basic PMS function,

Hi all,We have setup our automated payment policies to charge guest cards, if a card declines we must mark the card invalid on the OTA and then 24hours later we can try the charge again and cancel the reservation. We would love to be able to manually schedule a 2nd payment attempt instead of manually trying the card again. If the card is then charged no further action is needed and we have eliminated the need to make additional manual checks.Anyone found a way to do this? 

Hello Community!We don't use the Mews booking engine for our reservations - instead, we work with an external provider.As a result, we also have a different payment gateway (merchant) for handling advance payments made through our own website.This setup means that any advance payments need to be manually registered in Mews as external payments.This manual step has proven to be one of the biggest pain points for our hotels. Payments are often misallocated, or bookings end up being charged twice by mistake.Over time, things have improved - especially after we’ve run training sessions for our staff - but the issue tends to resurface whenever new team members come onboard.Has anyone else experienced similar challenges? If so, have you found a smart or effective way to handle this and reduce errors?In a perfect world, I would love to be able to map payments from our external merchant directly to Mews
