Mews PMS & Property Operations

Many of our customers prefer to always be allocated to the same room number or floor number during reservations.After defining these characteristics in the space features, I do not see these characteristics in the user profile “Preferred space features”. I only see a fixed classification list. My allocation strategy is set to “Use user preferences”. I can see that one could make the link from a “room feature to a classification” on the space side of the settings, and use the “classification to user” link on the user side of the settings, but it does not meet the need at all:classifications are limited to 20 and none corresponds to the feature I am defining if different features are classified within the same class, then why even bother defining space features ?!?!?Am I missing something or is it so weird? What was the logic when designing this?Many thanks in advance for your help and clarifying if I misunderstand somethin

Hello! If I have a corporate rate that I cannot yield, is there any way to exempt that rate from property level restrictions?I know I can do this in Mews directly as an exception on the rate or rate group, but I am trying to leverage the automation from our RMS to do this. Example: Two night min on a room type being sent from our RMS, but NEGABC rate should not be affected. Many PMS systems would have a ‘non yieldable’ option in the rate configuration that would allow for this.

For a small hotel like ours, not receiving them creates more difficulties than anything else... especially since the billing of cancellation fees is automatic and, of course, goes unnotified.Thank you for digging this subject

We would like to know if it is possible to automate alerts when a hotel’s occupancy drops below full capacity.Our goal is to receive a notification (via Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, or e-mail) whenever a hotel changes from 100% occupancy to 99% or lower.This is especially important during holiday periods and long weekends, when we often experience last-minute cancellations. Since only three people manage Revenue Management for our group of 11 hotels, we want to be informed immediately about these changes so we can react quickly and adjust availability or pricing where needed.Has anyone implemented a similar setup or integration? If so, what would be the best way to automate these alerts?I know Zapier can help with this, but we don’t have a paid account and are wondering if Occupancy is a filter you can use when setting up Zaps.

Ich benötige eine tägliche Liste mit allen heutigen Anreisen, sortiert nach Zimmernummer. Zusätzlich sollen alle aktuell im Haus befindlichen Gäste ebenfalls nach Zimmernummer aufgelistet und eindeutig markiert werden. Folgendes soll soll klar ersichtlich sein:die Namen aller Reisenden, welche Gäste zu einer gemeinsamen Gruppe gehören, die jeweilige Zimmernummer, die Anzahl der Gäste pro Zimmer, bei Kindern zusätzlich das Alter, An- und Abreisedatum, vorhandene Notizen des Profils sowie der Reservierung, Ernährungsanforderungen oder Unverträglichkeiten, sowie die Kennzeichnung von wiederkehrenden Gästen bzw. Stammgästen.Weitere Informationen werden nicht benötigt.Da ich diesen Bericht regelmäßig verwende, möchte ich eine dauerhaft übersichtliche und vollständige Darstellung, ohne den Bericht ständig manuell bearbeiten oder anpassen zu müssen.

When taking a customer reservation directly on the phone, once the availability is checked and the name is taken, one can set the reservation as optional (so it appears as non confimed in dotted lines in the calendar) and send the quotation email from the same screen. Very nice. The problem is that the customer can simply click confirm on the email and automatically receive back another automated email from MEWS saying the reservation is confirmed. In the calendar, it is changed as confirmed and we have no easy way to spot the missing card details information unless we do some systematic checks. Customer is thus free to cancel the day before or not come to the hotel and we have no way to secure the payment. For that we would need to send another email for card payment method demand, which would have to be tracked and followed up manually separately. Hello I have attempted to apply the granular permissions, unfortunatley I have set up a housekeeper and their customised role. This user is unable to view the timeline without having significant access to sensitive financial information. Please could I have some assistance or advice on how to enable roles to be set up without giving a new user access to financial information. Thank you 

Insisto en que, para quiénes trabajamos a diario con las tarifas, es necesario un gestor de restricciones más accesible, la verdad realizar cambios que en otros PMS se hacen en segundos, en MEWS te lleva más tiempo y te proporciona más probabilidad de cometer un error. Algo tan sencillo como incluir una modificación diaria de la estancia mínima ayudaría muchísimo.Mi propuesta es algo así, en la misma tabla de gestión de tarifas, poder modificar la estancia mínima según tipo de habitación, así, manualmente de una en una, o pudiendo filtrar por feca como se puede hacer para modificar precios y seleccionar tramos concretos. Creo que esto ayudaría muchísimo.

Moin zusammen,es gibt ja nun neue Berechtigungen für die einzelnen Rollen.Bei uns können Resa-MAinnen jetzt keine Blöcke mehr nutzen. Das können nur noch Manager, Preise der Blöcke anpassen kann nur noch ein Admin. Habt Ihr das auch? Soll das so?Wir verlieren zudem komplett die Freiheit, manchen MAinnen mehr Rechte zu geben, wenn das sinnvoll ist. Was hat denn das für einen Hintergrund, außer uns das Leben schwer zu machen? Hi i read somewhere that Mews is finally looking at providing an integrated guest messaging service (whatsapp/sms etc). I’ve been hoping for this for a long time as we use an external provider with no connectivity to Mews.The devil is in the detail of course, and the information shared so far seems vague and sketchy.Is there anything more concrete about the specific features, roll out etc? i’m especially keen to understandmobile no. portability - can we bring it with us or take it with us if we leave (imagine we have a long history on our existing number...) what pre booking solution is there (ie widget on our website) that means guest comms pre booking like questions about a villa type etc are captured and not outside the system. what the process/timing is for having templates approved on whatsapp (and which whatsapp provider will be used, e.g. 360diogue or gupshop etc what marketing solutions will be avail

How are other properties reporting pick up of thier groups? We are able to run a report and sort by group but we are seeing incorrect totals with rooms booked outside of the availability blocks. Thank you! 

Hallo zusammen, Opera bietet zum Beispiel die Option „Queue“ (Warteschlange) an. Wenn ein Gast zum Check-in kommt, kann ich „Queue“ markieren und das Housekeeping weiß sofort, dass genau dieses Zimmer priorisiert bzw. schneller gereinigt werden soll. Gibt es so etwas auch in  Mews

Hi everyone,I’m currently trying to improve my direct bookings and have recently started advertising my property through Google Ads.I had a call with my Google Ads account manager, and we found an issue with conversion tracking. Google is able to track the basic conversion, but it cannot properly capture the transaction value or the reservation number/reference once the booking is completed.From what I understand, this happens because the booking process is completed through the Mews booking engine, which is hosted outside my own website. Because of that, Google Tag Manager / Google Ads cannot access the final purchase details, such as the booking amount and reservation ID.My Google Ads manager suggested two possible solutions:Check whether Mews has any native integration, tool, or recommended setup to send this booking data back to Google Ads / Google Tag Manager. Redirect guests after completing the booking to a thank-you

Hi All,Is there any update on this topic yet? Dietary information is collected via kiosk but is not visable on any reporting. Without visibility in reporting, staff may miss important allergies or dietary restrictions when preparing or serving food. Teams are then forced to manually check individual customer profiles, which is inefficient and unreliable.It also makes it difficult to share important customer requirements across shifts and departments. This impacts both customer experience and operational consistency.If dietary information is considered essential enough to collect at kiosk level, it should also be accessible through reporting so teams can review and communicate it effectively each day.Look forward to getting an update on this topic or any workarounds others have found. 

Hallöchen,  eine Frage arbeitet jemand mit Triptease zusammen? Und wie sind eure Erfahrungen? Angeblich hat Triptease Probleme mit der MEWS Schnittstelle und kann mir daher seit Januar keine Daten mehr schicken. Habt ihr das auch? Danke!! Kati

Hello,I have a simple issue with meal management in Mews.Context:Contract of rooms of 50 rooms per days need lunch charge for every night but not on check-in or check-out Supper are working fine with “before end of day” since they are always taken at check-inProblem with lunch:Guests check out before lunch time, so lunch should not be charged.However, with product type:If I set it to “before end of day”, lunch gets charged on arrival If I set it to “after end of day”, lunch gets charged at check-outIn both cases, the meal is charged even though it should not be at check-out or check-in.I am looking for a simple way to avoid automatically charging lunch for check-in or check-out while keeping as much automation as possible.How are you handling this in Mews?Thank you.

Hallo liebe Community,wir sind gerade eben durch Zufall über die Mews vs die Konkurrenz Seite auf folgende Zeitachse gestoßen.Weiß jemand, ob es die so, wie in dem Bild zu sehen schon gibt, ob die noch kommt oder ob es sich da einfach um ein irreführendes Bild handelt?es wäre echt Klasse, wenn man in der Zeitachse mit Farbakzenten für Buchungen arbeiten könnte (nicht nur die Standardfarben für Eingecheckt, Geprüft etc.)Vielleicht weiß ja schon jemand mehr.Vielen Danke im Voraus. 

Hi everyone,we are currently running the Mews Kiosk app on an iPad for self check-in. Guests scan their QR code using the built-in iPad camera.We would like to know if it is possible to use an external QR/barcode scanner instead of the internal camera, for example via USB or Bluetooth.Has anyone successfully used a scanner in HID/keyboard wedge mode with the Mews Kiosk app?Or is the QR scanning functionality hardcoded to the iPad camera only?Any experiences or supported hardware recommendations would be appreciated.Thanks,Dennis

Bonjour j’ai un groupe de 15 personnes déjà parti depuis quelques semaines et certain clients demande à ce jour une copie de leur facture individuelle.  La facture du groupe est fermé, comment dois-je procéder, dois-je réémettre une facture ouverte pour ensuite déplacer les dites personnes pour leur demande et redéplacer les clients dans la facture du groupe pour ensuite la refermer. Très belle plateforme mais il y a beaucoup encore à travailler pour la rendre encore plus performante.
