Hi All.We are in the process of setting up MEWS for first time use. I have a query regarding the way space configurations work.Say we have Room 1 which can be setup as both a double or a twin, how can I make these options bookable for customers? I can only seem to be able to assign one space configuration to a space at a time.

Hi ​@Mews Community Team, From my point of view, that session expiration time of the Mews Community could be extended a bit so that you don’t have to re-enter your user credentials so often. I am using a password manager, so it’s no big deal, but I just think it could be extended for a better experience.  

Hallo zusammen,wir haben seit kurzem City Ledger aktiviert und da man das dafür ja muss → Rechnungsverfolgung aktiviert. In MEWS auf Ops Seite sind wir sehr zufrieden damit, jedoch stimmt unser Datev Export jetzt nicht mehr und es kommt hier zu “Doppelbuchungen”.Das Team City Ledger bei MEWS was uns eigentlich angeboten hatte uns hier zu begleiten reagiert nun nicht auf unser Problem.Hat jemand von Euch Erfahrungen und kann uns helfen?Vielen Dank.Liebe GrüßeSabrinaEmiLu

Hello everyone,We frequently encounter the following issue:Guests request that a restaurant receipt from MEWS POS (or other integrations) be split across different rooms/guest profiles upon departure. However, duplicate items from POS receipts are combined into a single item in the billing window. For example, grape juice: These three grape juices cannot be split across separate invoices after the fact; they constitute a single item and can therefore only be paid on one invoice. Of course, one could manually calculate the amounts and allocate them to different payment methods. But perhaps someone here is familiar with this issue and even has a solution for booking the items individually?After all, with products from bookable services, everything is ultimately booked as individual, divisible items. Hallo zusammen,wie geht Ihr mit der Mehrwertsteueränderung in “Mews POS” um? Konkret geht es mir um das Frühstück. Das POS scheint sich ja nicht automatisch mit dem PMS zu synchronisieren und selbst kann man wohl auch keine Synchro anstoßen. Müssen die beiden Splitting-Produkte dann zusätzlich händisch dort hinterlegt werden? Dann erfolgt aber keine Zuordnung zu den richtigen Kostenstellen etc. Auch ist die Frage, ob man Speisen- und Getränkeanteil zu einem Produkt kombinieren kann, damit man im S2 nicht immer zwei Produkte anwählen muss. Hat hier jemand schon eine Lösung gefunden?Viele Grüße aus Köln.Christian

Hi everyone 👋I’m Laura, the PM for the Billing team.Over the past few months, we’ve been working on several initiatives to improve ledger accuracy and reduce front-desk effort—specifically by cutting down the number of payments routed to unpaid items and deposits.Before Christmas, we released default billing automation, which reduced payments/items routed to unpaid items from 60% to 10% 🎉. While this is a big improvement, we’d like to reduce this even further.What we’re working on nextCurrently, when payments or payment requests are added via the Payments tab, they’re routed to unpaid items. Our new approach requires users to select a bill when taking a payment, ensuring it’s organised correctly on the billing screen.Users can select either owned or associated bills, making it quick and flexible—for example, charging a VCC on a guest profile while routing the payment directly to a company-owned bill when needed.Want to help us test it?We’re looking for customers who’d be happy to bet

Hallo zusammen,ich brauche jemanden, der mit HotelNetSolutions arbeitet. Ich habe ein paar Fragen, die ich gern besprechen möchte. Ich bin neu in einem Hotel und kurz gesagt:Wir haben aktuell viel zu viele Zimmerkategorien (wurden früher von einer Kollegin angelegt). Das bedeutet: DZS (buchbar für 2 Personen) DZS3 (buchbar für 2 Personen, max. 3 Personen) DZD (buchbar für 2 Personen) DZD3 (buchbar für max. 3 Personen) DZD4 (buchbar für max. 4 Personen)  DZS und DZS3 kosten dasselbe für 2 Personen, der einzige Unterschied ist, dass in DZS3 ein Extrabett reinpasst.Das Gleiche gilt für DZD / DZD3 / DZD4. Die Erklärung meiner Kollegin war, dass es technisch nicht möglich sei, ein Zustellbett über HNS anzupassen.Ich bin aber der Meinung, dass Mews eine Mindest- und Maximalbelegung zulässt und man das auch über HNS einstellen kann. wir sind gerad in Umbau Phase und haben 15 Zimmer und 9 Kategorien. Voll ätzend  Hat jemand Erfahrung mit Extrabetten? Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?

Hallo zusammen, folgende Frage.Wie kann ich Aufgaben ( Tasks bzw Traces ) für 1 Benutzer sperren ? Will nicht dass er die liest.  Danke 

I’m wondering if any hotel has successfully integrated an RFID card dispenser into the MEWS kiosk for room keys. These dispensers are relatively inexpensive and can be built into the reception desk.In my experience, the step where the guest needs to take a card and place it on the key encoder during check-in is where we face the biggest challenges in getting guests to understand the process, despite videos and instructions.If the kiosk were semi-automatic, this would make things considerably easier.I would appreciate hearing how other hotels handle this!

In the pre-arrival communication with guests a QR code is included for faster check-in at the kiosk. However, we have not been able to get this function to work well at all—mainly because guests struggle to understand how to position the code correctly, as well as which camera to use (front vs. rear).I would also like to add that we are not using a small tablet; our kiosk is installed on a larger touchscreen, which may affect the setup and user experience.What experience do other hotels have with the QR code for kiosk self (not assisted) check-in?Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

In Sweden (and I’m sure in the Nordic countries as well), we are charged royalties to artists and composers semi-annually based on the number of occupied/sold rooms. I haven’t found an intuitive way to quickly generate a report for this purpose. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks! 

Hallo!Wir haben die Standard / Default Einstellungen bei den Dokumentenvorgaben belassen bisher.Allerdings wird beim online CheckIn scheinbar auch ein Führerschein akzeptiert, was eigentlich nicht sein dürfte bei den Standard-Einstellungen für Österreich (ist kein Reisedokument)!Außerdem wird bei Pass und ID/Personalausweis auch die ausstellende Stadt abgefragt - die ist auf den meisten Dokumenten gar nicht angeführt…Laut Gästeverzeichnisblatt-Muster müssen und dürfen nur die folgenden Angaben gesammelt werden:“REISEDOKUMENT bei ausländischen Gästen (Art, z. B. Reisepass/Personalausweis; Nummer; Ausstellungsdatum; ausstellende Behörde; Staat)”Ich weiß, in den Einstellungen zum Check-In Formular kann man das einstellen, aber klappt dann auch der Automatismus, dass von inländischen Gästen kein Reisedokument verlangt wird (wie es bei den Standard-Einstellungen der Fall ist) ? Das geht aus der Hilfe nicht ganz klar hervor.Und der Unsinn standardmäßig bei Reisepässen die ausstellende Stadt

Hello!I recently noticed that the requirement for email address in the check in form as been set to “NOT required” by default for the reservation owner: I am pretty sure that this had been set to “required” previously. As of now this setting allowed guests to check-in without email and if a booking.com proxy address was in file it did not ask the guests for their direct email address.Is this change intentional? What are the reason behind this change? A regression/bug? If I set it to back to “required” will this again trigger the email collection for @guest.booking.com addresses and expedia proxa addresses ?I will try and report back … Clarification by MEWS ​@Mews Community Team  highly appreciated :-) Kind regards,Jean-Philipp.

Have a long queue of guests either trying to check in or check out and have a few kiosks available for guests?  Now you can use all your available resources to manage the check in and check out flow of your guests, simply send a reservation you are working on to any available kiosk.  How to send a reservation to Mews Kiosk  Go to Mews Operations and open the reservation you want to send.  Scroll to the Spaces section of the reservation.  Click Send to Kiosk next to the assigned space.     Note: Only reservations with a status of “To check in” or “To check out” can be sent to Mews Kiosk. Once you click on the kiosk you want, the reservation will appear on the kiosk. You can now direct the guest to the kiosk to complete the process. After you send a reservation:   The kiosk displays the selected reservation and allows the guest to check in or check out.  The guest completes required steps such as confirming details, signing registration cards, or making payments.  The reservation sta

Bonjour,Nous sommes passés sur Mews cette année et nous remarquons qu’il manque beaucoup de fonctions que d’autres PMS ont depuis des années.On nous encourage à poster sur la plateforme feedback qui est une bonne idée je trouve, sauf que je vois des posts qui comme celui ci https://feedback.mews.com/forums/918232-property-operations-pms/suggestions/47159095-impove-timeline-visual-appearance-for-improved-wor date de 2018 sans retour de la part de Mews. J’ai l’impression que les posts ne servent pas à grand chose. Sachant que beaucoup de demandes sur feedback sont partager entre plusieurs utilisateurs / properties qui utilisent Mews au quotidien.

An die Kölner Hotels:Wie handelt Ihr die Übernachtungssteuer in Mews bei direkten Buchungen über die Homepage/via Mews? Momentan kann man Die Steuer nur optional aus Kundensicht der Buchung zufügen, was die Gäste natürlich nicht tun, da ihnen die Steuer i.d.R. nicht bekannt ist. Es kommt dann zu Beschwerden, da der zu zahlende Preis am Ende höher ausfällt. Gibt es einen Möglichkeit, die Steuer automatisiert den Reservierungen mit entsprechender Info für Gäste zur Ü/F zuzufügen? Danke!

Is it possible by routing or some other way to make sure a product is only added to new bookings?The system wil now apply the product with a product rule to all the bookings. And will show the product when we trigger it with check in or change of guests at the already made booings. Now we have to manually remove any unintended additional products so that the price matches what the guest originally agreed to.This process is time-consuming, inefficient, and prone to errors.

We have updated the logic that automatically closes bills at check out to more intelligently select the bills that should be closed and decrease the time you spend manually closing bills.Mews enables the automatic closure of bills when a guest checks out. Properties can enable this as part of their Stay Service so that it happens automatically. Additionally users can choose to close balanced bills in the user interfaceThe current logic closes ALL balanced bills on the Bill Owners profile only, leading to a number of issues:Bills routed to companies by Billing Automation and balanced automatically using payment automation remain open after check out and have to be manually closed. Companion bills related to the reservation remain open check out and have to be manually closed. Hello everyone and happy New Year 😊Perhaps you can help me: I am currently (finally) trying to edit our confirmation templates using the new “customize templates” function in MEWS. However, I'm missing an important merge tag to be able to use it properly, namely “room rate per night”. Unfortunately, our daily rates change very often and it's important to us that these are listed individually in the reservation confirmation.How do you do this?
