Expedia rounding differences

Good morning,We've noticed a recurring issue with rounding differences of €0.01 when processing VCC payments via Expedia. This happens consistently between MEWS and Expedia, regardless of whether the connection is direct or through a channel manager.According to MEWS, this is expected behavior and not related to the integration method.We were wondering:👉 How do you handle these discrepancies?👉 Do you have any best practices or recommendations on how to manage or reconcile them?Thanks in advance for your insights! 🙏Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hallo zusammen,Wir sind bei VAYA noch nicht so lange mit Mews live und erhalten nun von verschiedenen Rezeptionen Feedback bezüglich des Online-Check-ins. Wir sind in Tirol und im Salzburgerland tätig und haben hier regelmäßig mit Meldeschein-Kontrollen zu tun.Wir würden gerne wissen, wie ihr mit den folgenden Punkten umgeht: Beim Online-Check-in wird keine Unterschrift der Begleitpersonen verlangt, diese fehlt dann auf dem Meldeschein. Beim Check-in am Tablet wird sofort die Rechnung angezeigt, da laut Mews alle Daten bereits beim Online-Check-in eingegeben wurden. Wie kann der Meldeschein der Begleitpersonen dennoch unterschrieben werden? Wenn man beim Ausfüllen der Daten für die zweite Person das Land in der Adresszeile auswählen möchte, friert manchmal die gesamte Webseite ein und der Check-in kann nicht abgeschlossen werden. Sind euch diese Probleme ebenfalls bekannt und wie geht ihr damit um?Danke und liebe Grüße, Judith

Looking for a digital guest registration signature solution (without printing)

Hi everyone,I'm trying to find a simple and effective way to digitally collect guest signatures for registration cards using a tablet or phone, without having to print and scan the documents.Currently, Mews sends the online check-in, and while many guests complete it, not all do. So when they arrive at reception, we scan their ID using the Mews scanner, which works great — but we quickly hit a wall:➡️ There’s no way to collect a digital signature.➡️ The only option is to print the registration card and scan it again with the signature.Honestly, I’m surprised that Mews hasn’t built a simple solution for this yet.And for those about to say "Mews Kiosk" — I get it, but not all hotels can afford the upgrade to that level. What would be great is something similar to the ID scanner tool, which opens the camera — but in this case, a feature that activates a signature pad on a tablet or the Mews terminal, where the guest can sign with their finger.Does anyone know of a workaround or third-part

City Ledger/Rechnungsverfolgung aktiviert in MEWS- nun stimmen die Datev Exporte nicht mehr

Hallo zusammen,wir haben seit kurzem City Ledger aktiviert und da man das dafür ja muss → Rechnungsverfolgung aktiviert. In MEWS auf Ops Seite sind wir sehr zufrieden damit, jedoch stimmt unser Datev Export jetzt nicht mehr und es kommt hier zu “Doppelbuchungen”.Das Team City Ledger bei MEWS was uns eigentlich angeboten hatte uns hier zu begleiten reagiert nun nicht auf unser Problem.Hat jemand von Euch Erfahrungen und kann uns helfen?Vielen Dank.Liebe GrüßeSabrinaEmiLu

Aktuelle Abrechnungsprobleme über Stripe Terminals

Hallo zusammen,wir haben gerade ganz akut das Problem dass EC Kartenzahlungen am Stripe Terminal als “genehmigt” angezeigt werden, und der Gast uns auch einen Abbuchungsbeleg von seiner Bank zeigen kann, die Zahlung jedoch nicht in MEWS eingespielt wird und hier die Fehlermeldung “Maestro wird nicht akzeptiert, bitte versuche es mit einer anderen Kartenart”. Somit wird wohl auch kein Geldeingang vorhanden sein.Habt ihr gerade auch die Probleme?Wir haben bereits ein Supportticket eröffnet, bisher gab es noch keine Lösungsansätze dazu.Kreditkarten scheinen zu funktionieren und online Abrechnungen auch. Danke für Euren Input, oder Upvote, wenn ihr auch die Probleme habt.Und by the way, mit Adyen hatten wir so gut wie nie Probleme, seitdem wir Stripe haben zickt die Abrechnung öfters. Hallo zusammen,bei den flexiblen Tarifen bitten wir unsere Gäste immer um eine CC zur Garantie.Es geht ja nicht um die Zahlungsabwicklung (Zahlungsaufforderung in Mews) sondern nur um die Garantie. Leider haben wir noch keine clevere Lösung dafür gefunden, außer ein PDF zum Ausfüllen.Habt ihr Praxistipps, ohne dass Dokumente ausgefüllt und verschickt werden müssen?Danke für eure Ideen.

Dear Amazing Mews Team,We’ve been using Mews for the past four years. Over time, we’ve seen your CEO delivering inspiring keynotes, speaking about how Mews saves both time and money. Unfortunately, our experience doesn’t always match these promises — and it feels like someone is not telling the full truth.Right now, I urgently need a development to respond to a guest request — or perhaps your CEO can personally explain to the guest why your PMS is not functioning properly or efficiently in this case.Here is the situation:We need to split the breakfast charges. One breakfast is covered by the guest’s company, and the second breakfast (for the accompanying person) is to be paid directly by the guest. The guest has requested a separate invoice showing this breakdown.How can I do this in Mews?You already allow this kind of separation in the “Kids” section — so why can’t we apply the same logic here? Still no way to book 2 adults + 1 infant (0-3 yrs) in a “max-2” apartment?

Hi everyone,I’m hoping somebody has cracked what feels like a very typical family scenario in Mews Distributor.Our one-bedroom apartments are limited to two adults. Many guests, however, travel with a baby or toddler who sleeps in the parents’ bed. In an ideal world the booking widget would let them add a 0–3 year-old and still show the apartment. Right now, the moment a child is added Mews counts it as a full extra guest, so the system insists on a three-person (or two-bedroom) unit—hardly family-friendly.What we‘re aiming for Widget shows pickers for adults and a “0-3 yrs” band. Guests can choose 2 adults + 1 infant/toddler and the two-person apartment remains available. We don’t have to raise the apartment’s base capacity (keeps OTA inventory clean). I’ve tried every combination of extra capacity, age categories and restrictions I can think of, but either the child still bumps the capacity or the room vanishes altogether.One more thing I foundI came across a year-old blog post t

Expedia Collect taxes

I am desperately looking for suggestions on what to do with our lodging tax on Expedia Collect bookings. With our previous system I was able to make them tax exempt in our PMS and it didn’t impact the channel manager rates and tax. This system does not appear to have that option. We have currently been processing payment of taxes with an “external payment” and then I am manually adjusting that. Which creates inaccurate reporting, and a decent amount of extra work. Both of which I thought would be remedied when I switched to Mews.

Expedia intergration

Good morning ☀️,I hope you're doing well!We're currently experiencing a recurring issue with Expedia Direct Connect and wanted to check if others are noticing the same: Specifically, we're seeing a discrepancy of €0.01 💶 between the booked rate and the amount charged via the Virtual Credit Card (VCC) 💳 provided by Expedia.This happens quite frequently and seems to be related to either rounding differences 🧮, tax or fee handling 💼, or possibly even currency conversion logic 🔄, even when the transactions are in EUR.Have you observed similar mismatches on your end? 🤔 If so, how are you handling or reconciling them in your system?Would really appreciate any insights or shared experiences 🙏

Hallo, wir nutzen XENIA als POS in unserem Restaurant.Die Umsätze werden auch alle nach MEWS übertragen, nur die externen Zahlungen nicht.Hat jemand das gleiche Problem?Der MEWS Support konnte mir nicht wirklich weiterhelfen und Xenia sagt auf ihrer Seite ist alles richtig eingestellt.Ich freue mich auf eure Antworten :)Liebe Grüße,Friederike

Flexible occupancy adjustments per rate/date/room-category

Hi Community,We have started work on being able to configure occupancy adjustments flexibly not just on base rates, but even on dependent rates and further per stay date and room category.I will be posting visuals of what can be expected and collect beta signups in the upcoming days. Till then, we had a pressing question - that should help us shape product development better. If you had the ability to define occupancy adjustments per stay-date/room combination, for every rate (base and dependent), would it be beneficial to be able to set them on a rate level? We have uncovered arguments in both directions:Pro of rate level adjustments: Rate level adjustments allow one to quickly configure occupancy adjustments for all room categories and dates in that rate. These can then be granularly over-written as and when necessary.Con of rate level adjustments: It is never what is booked or sent to OTAs. So can be useless, since defining on the room/date level is much more accurate.EDIT and extra
