The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has released fresh data that shows positive strides in reducing the sector’s environmental impact. According to their report, in 2023, Travel & Tourism emissions accounted for 6.7% of global emissions, a significant drop from 7.8% in 2019. This is a great sign that our industry is finding ways to grow economically while simultaneously lowering its environmental footprint.However, there’s still more work to be done. While we’re moving in the right direction, the WTTC is urging the industry to accelerate the shift to greener practices, particularly in the area of renewable energy. Despite some progress, fossil fuel dependence only dropped modestly from 90% in 2019 to 88.2% in 2023. Any progress/plans on splitting bills?

Checking the ideas platform, splitting bills is the most requested feature right now and even an pretty old one (from april 2018):https://feedback.mews.com/forums/955622-billing-accounting/suggestions/36659347-split-charges-on-billThere is no official mews roadmap – at least no public one but it seems that a lot of features in the area billing were published in the last weeks or are in the work right now 🤔. I would guess that there is a team assigned that has this specific part of the application as focus right now …@Mews Community Team is bill splitting something that is on the roadmap for the current set of billing related features and can we expect some improvements in this area anytime soon?It would be nice if i could give my team some approximate information here, as this is one of the biggest problems and a frequent occuring one too 🙌. Whats a sharer reservation?First of all i would like to define what a sharer reservation is because i am not sure that this is the the usual term for this 🧐.A sharer reservation is any reservation were one or more persons in a room has a different arrival or departure from any other person in that room. For example another person in that room arrives a day later or departs earlier.So in short the amount of people in an room differs throughout the reservation: Whats the Problem?The handling of such cases in mews is difficult because it is quite confusing and time-consuming to set up 😟. The current best practice seems to be to divide all parts of a sharer reservation into individual reservations and create them separately ✂️.In this case, price rules and other logic do not work at all or are incorrect, which is why you should calculate all parts of these reservations manually or at least correct them 🤯.But not only is this difficult for us in administration, but it is also very compli

Dear community members and colleagues!Following up on some threads in this community I would like to ask the community about this topic.Competing with loyalty programs of big chains or OTAs is a challenge for small and/or independent hotels, especially in the competitive urban area, I believe.Loyalty programs that are not restricted to a single property or chain might allow to regain some market share back from OTAs and chains. On the other hand it also connects your hotel with competing properties.
