Mews API

Hi Community! does anybody use synxis as channel manager or as part of preferred hotels? Is it easy to use or any thoughts on that?

Hallo zusammen,nutzt jemand die Funktion des POS, RFID Karten (Zimmerschlüssel) zu lesen und somit die Rechnungen auf die Zimmer zu buchen? WIr hatten dies mit Protel in Kombination mit Matrix POS.Dies half uns operative in den Outlets die Rechnungen der Gäste entsprechend abzuschliessen.Aktuell haben wir Probleme dies mit MEWS aufzusetzen. Folgende Systeme sind invovliert. Hi!  We’re currently building a WordPress extension that integrates with the Mews Distributor API, and we’ve run into recurring issues that I’d like to check if anyone else has solved.Current situation: We work with multiple bookable services (several ConfigurationIds) under one Mews enterprise. Our goal is to aggregate all services into a single unified search flow (cabins, apartments, hotels, across locations). We fetch metadata via configuration/get (list of Ids) and then call hotels/getAvailability for each ConfigurationId + HotelId + CategoryIds. It's come to my attention that there are moments where booking.com doesn't apply a cancellation fee to reservations if for some reason they know they won't receive the payment from the guest. While this is in isolation nice as you won't need to pay commissions on these, it does bring a challenge when cancellation policies are applied in Mews anyways.  How do you find out that booking.com doesn't apply a cancelation fee?What do you do with the cancelation fee in Mews that's automatically applied and needs to be corrected?How frequently does this happen? I would love to hear from you on your best practises in this regard!

We use MEWS Payments as as payment processor and we use Siteminder’s Booking Engine - Direct Book as our Booking Engine.  The issue is that Siteminder only payment form only acts as a ‘payment window’ to collect card details but doesn't actually action the payment or as you would expect connect to MEWS Payments to process the payment during the booking process.We have spoken to Siteminder and their response is it is up to us to do manually.  Once the bookiing comes through MEWS Payments automatically processes payments which is fine, the issue is that the Siteminder Payment Window will accept any card and process and confirm bookings using the card that is entered, meaning that invalid and expired cards can be entered and  booking confirmation issuesd.  Leaving our Front of House with an admin and payment headache.  Surely Siteminder’s payment window should just connect to MEWS Payments at the point of sale?We have spoken to Siteminder

Hello Community,Are you also experiencing issues with Mews not being able to send products with the charging type set to “once” in your channel manager connection?We sometimes offer packages that include products meant to be charged only once, but we’re unable to transmit these through the CHM connection.Additionally, since our CRS only allows us to send full ARI (Availability, Rates, Inventory) - and not partial data - we can’t let partners set prices on their side while we only send availability and inventory.This limitation is significantly restricting our ability to participate in certain campaigns. Has anyone else encountered the same challenge and found a feasible solution or workaround within Mews? Thanks in advance!

Our developer has requested access to our Mews account in order to figure out how to set up the code to embed and activate the Booking Engine. I am looked at individual user permissions and what access rights to give him, but can’t really figure out which would be relevant and necessary for him? We don’t wasn’t to provide more access than necessary.  Thank you for all help!

Hello, I want to build an availibilty calendar on my hotel website. For that I wanted to use the services/getAvailibilty API Route. Mews Support said to me that I need register a private integration in order to use it. But for that I would have to become a Mews Partner. Do have to that really just to use the API? Thanks.

Dear Mews Community,I'm looking for a person who has more in-depth knowledge of Zapier. I would like to do some automation with the integration, but I haven't quite gotten through it yet. As an example, in addition to many other automation ideas, I would like to know if the following automation is feasible:I would like to generate a Google Sheet daily with all reservations in the house. I know there is the "Guests in the House" report within Mews, but I would prefer to map this via Zapier to bring the data directly into an appropriate format.Unfortunately, I couldn't find a pre-built trigger within Zapier for this. There is only the trigger for new reservations, but not for existing ones.Does anyone know whether this is may possible with Webhooks by Zapier for example?I would be very happy to have an exchange partner on this topic.Best regardsNiclas

Looking back at my time at Mews, we’ve grown our tech teams with a great mix of people with and without hospitality experience. What I’ve noticed (coming from a hospitality background) is that I’ve taken a lot of what I know about the industry for granted. What I may have thought as general knowledge is actually not. There are so many aspects of hospitality that have come as second nature to us that we don’t really think twice about. On the other hand, when building custom integrations, I would think that developers don’t necessarily have the full picture of what the final outcome should be. So that leads to my question: Are there any challenges that come up when working with developers that don’t have hospitality experience? How do you bridge those gaps? Or do you not experience these challenges at all?I’m really interested to hear your experiences!
