Dear Mews-ers, Sorry if a newbie question.I am setting up a ‘Stay 3, Pay 2’ promo for certain low season dates. The idea is to have it for arrivals on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday during designated low season periods (eg. January). I’ve set up a rate group ‘Stay-Pay offer’ (basically non-ref policies), and a rate (Stay 3, Pay 2) (-33% on the BAR)so far so good.But now I’d like to set up restrictions: eg. closed to stay in high season, closed to arrival on Wed-Sat, etc. Problem is that, when I consult the restrictions calendar view, I cannot see the rate group nor rate displayed - even if I choose to add a restriction. Am I doing something wrong here - how can I resolve this issue, and have it shown in the calender view? Essential before going live of course.Equally so, how can I remove rate groups / rates from the calendar view when I am no longer using them?Thanks!

Hello everyone, I was wondering if there's a way to automatically create certain tasks based on the length of stay? For example, a welcome basket should be brought to the room for any stay longer than 3 nights, or a reminder to change the sheets on the fifth day if the stay exceeds 5 nights. Creating each task individually is tedious and prone to errors. Thank you!

Hi everyone,I am looking for advice regarding the integration between Mews and TESA locks.We chose TESA mainly because it is officially supported by Mews, but after following the Mews setup instructions, we still cannot connect Mews with TESA. The TESA system itself works perfectly: the locks work correctly and card encoding works from the TESA application. The issue is only the connection between Mews and TESA.I opened case 00668982 with Mews Support on 15 June. Since then, I have checked Mews Connector, tested different IP/port combinations, performed key creation tests, and sent all requested logs. On 18 June, I was told the case had been escalated to developers, but I have now been waiting 9 days without any real update or solution. This is affecting our daily operation, as we are having to create all keys manually from TESA.Could someone from Mews please review the case and clarify whether this is a known issue, a missing configuration step, or something specific to our setup?Than

I am trying to get set up so I can start my project and testing, but I keep receiving the following error:“Cannot exceed maximum quota of 200. Please contact support to resolve issue.”The integration I’m trying to install is Connector API I believe this could be due to having too many integrated apps active on the account?Thank you so much! :)

Hallo zusammen,ich habe eine Frage, für die bestimmt schon jemand eine Lösung hat:Wir kommen von Opera- dort gab es Group Signature Listen,also eine Namensliste je Gruppe mit einer Linie hinter dem Namen, wo die Gäste,die per Gesamtrechnung abgerechnet werden, unterschreiben, dass sie angereist sind. Hat jemand von euch eine vergleichbare Liste in MEWS gefunden?Bzw. wie macht ihr das bei den Gruppenanreisen? Ich freue mich über Hilfe dazu :-)  Viele Grüße Janina 

Hi,We have an old invoice in Mews that was paid through another system. As part of our cleanup, we would like to register an external payment against this invoice.However, when we try to do so, we receive the following error message: “Cannot specify both BillId and InvoiceIds.”We initiate the process from the invoice by selecting Add External Payment, but the window that opens asks us to create a new bill. And although we choose to do so, we are unable to register the payment against the existing invoice.Could you please explain why this is happening and how we can resolve it? Is there a recommended way to register an external payment for an existing invoice in this situation?Thank you in advance for your help.Kind regards,Daira 

Good morning everybody, I have somewhat of a weird question.We use MEWS BI for our reporting, by selecting our local segments out of a catalog of segments from all the Hotels belonging to the same collection. We have noticed that if we rebate and reissue an invoice (for adjustments, no other change made) the relevant revenue is taken out of the correct segments and reallocated to a category which is labelled as “none”, that is, no segmentation present. I have double checked and there is no way for me to re-input the segmentation data when I am reissuing a bill, but rebate and reissue is a key component of daily operations, especially now that we have had a recent change in some of our commission process due to Italian Law, and we need to rebate and reissue a number of fiscal documents printed earlier in the year. We cannot be “scared” to do this kind of actions in the PMS, with the fear of each operation messing up the reporting. Hi all,How do housekeeping supervisors assign rooms? Like I know the technical method, but do any supervisors have advice on the best way to do it?From what I can see, it looks like it’s a very labourious process, and one which can’t efficiently be done every day. Or am I missing something?Thanks

Guten Tag liebe Community,wir sind erst seit letzter Woche dabei und kommen von 6 Jahren HS3. Dort hatten wir die Möglichkeit, Gäste direkt zu AVS zu melden und den darauffolgenden Schablonenausdruck für unsere Schwarzwaldpluskarte direkt auszudrucken. Momentan haben wir die Omniboost-Schnittstelle zu AVS ausprobiert, aber wir sehen keinen manuellen Knopf zum Melden und zum Ausdruck. Hat jemand Erfahrung damit? Wir würden es, wenn möglich, vermeiden, bei jeder Buchung separat das Online-Portal von AVS für den Ausdruck zu benutzen.Liebe Grüße,Marius vom Sonnenschein

Can I ask what other hotels using Mews do when a payment gets stuck in "Pending" for 12 hours and is then voided?I just had an OTA guest with a fairly large food and beverage bill whose payment ended up as "Pending", only to be voided 12 hours later. Now we risk losing that revenue.I travel a lot myself, and I have never had a card payment take 12 hours to process. My cards are always charged instantly, and they all have two-factor authentication enabled. How do you handle situations like this?

Hello, We use MEWS for temple housing with separate male and female dormitory rooms, and we are looking for ways to improve the Timeline view for easier room management. We have three questions: 1. Is it possible to rename bed spaces from letter-based labels to number-based labels?For example:003-A → 003-1003-B → 003-2003-C → 003-3 2. Is it possible to visually distinguish room groups by adding colors, colored bands, or highlighted sections in the Timeline view? 3. Is it possible to assign different colors to Space Categories (for example, Female Dorm Rooms and Male Dorm Rooms) so that staff can quickly identify them at a glance? Our goal is to make the separation between room sections more obvious and reduce assignment mistakes. For example, we would like Female Dorm Rooms and Male Dorm Rooms to be clearly distinguished with different visual indicators. If these options are not currently available, are there any recommended workarounds or best practices? Thank you for your help.

Ich möchte gerne die Kurtaxen altersabhängig eingeben. Ich habe bei der direkten Anbindung via Marketplace die für “Alterskategorie für Channel Manager” die Auswahlmöglichkeiten  “adult”, “age group 1”, “age group 2” und “age group” Welches Alter umfassen diese age groups? Die Altersgruppen in Mews konnte ich anlegen und auch die Preise für die Kurtaxen dementsprechend anpassen. Nur bei der Verbindung mit booking.com habe ich immer noch Probleme 

Graag zouden wij aan onze gasten in de pre arrival mail willen vragen hoe laat zij verwachten aan te komen in ons hotel, om zo onze diensten zo optimaal mogelijk aan te passen. Heeft MEWS hier een handige feature of tool voor? OI zijn er hotel die third party programma's hiervoor gebruiken die deze tijd in MEWS kunnen aanpassen? 

Hi everyone! 👋I think I may have asked this before, but hopefully the statute of limitations has expired by now 😅 So, here we go again:Breakfast is included in all our rates. For accounting purposes, we need to automatically debit and credit the folio with our actual breakfast cost.This works perfectly from an accounting perspective, but the problem is that guests can see these transactions on their receipt and in the kiosk.We currently solve this in a not entirely optimal way using Billing Automation, but in a perfect world we would simply like these transactions to remain hidden from the guest – both on the folio/receipt and in the kiosk.Has anyone found a better or alternative solution for handling this in Mews?

Pakete anbieten und diese in der MEWS Buchungsmaschine aus unserer Sicht nicht optimal präsentiert wurden.Mich würde interessieren, wie ihr das bei euch löst. Legt ihr eure Pakete als eigene Raten an, damit sie in der Buchungsstrecke besser sichtbar sind? Oder nutzt ihr eine andere, kostengünstige Buchungsmaschine, die Pakete und Arrangements besonders gut darstellt?Ich freue mich auf eure Erfahrungen und Empfehlungen.Vielen Dank und viele Grüße, Paul

Salto has recently released the option for wallet-based keys. Mews did so for Assa-Abloy almost a year ago, but for Salto locks we’re still waiting.Guests are losing/ not returning way too many of our key cards and this would be a great option to cut down on that, while at the same time it would improve our guest experience.So, is the integration coming soon?

Dear all,We are currently experiencing an issue with our hotels in Austria regarding Booking.com reservations that include Bed & Breakfast.We have noticed a slight difference in the total amount charged. The reason appears to be that Booking.com calculates the city tax based on the total reservation amount (room + breakfast), whereas Mews calculates the city tax only on the room rate, since breakfast is configured as a separate product.As a result, there is a discrepancy between the total amount calculated by Booking.com and the amount charged in Mews.Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
