We have been using MEWS since March 2024 and are located in Ohio, USA. Due to our location, we work closely with government agencies, local higher education organizations, and several 501© tax-exempt organizations. We asked this during our onboarding almost 10 months ago and received the same responses listed in Can you generate invoice without VAT  Summary - duplicate your product library (both Stay and Additional Services) that have the option of a taxed and non-taxed item/stay/product, or, create a product that you add to the bill as a negative amount equal to the taxed amounts. Has anyone found any other “work arounds” to this? Hey All, we are a small property with a very unique setup, 20 unique cabins and 8 motel rooms on one property, which results in 25 different room types. Managing restrictions in MEWS has been a nightmare for years, especially that we do not do a blanket property restrictions but rather room specific for various reasons Two main challenges is setting initial restrictions and then adjusting them, and also having the ability do dynamically and automatically relax restrictions when a window open up MEWS does not have a solution for this and wondering if any of you have had this issue and what kind of third party work arounds did you find?

Is there an option to mark tasks as reoccuring, let’s say you have a task that needs to be added to a reservation daily. A button that says “daily” or “every second day” or whatever, but just so you don’t have to manually create ten tasks for one booking that stays ten nights but just create it once with a specific rhythm?

Hallo zusammen,wir haben folgendes Problem mit den E-Mail-Benachrichtigungen:Es werden keine E-Mails bei manuell versendeten Optionsbestätigungen und deren Bestätigung ausgelöst.Bei Buchungen über Booking erhalten wir eine Benachrichtigungen aber bei der Annahme einer Optionalen Buchung und der daraus resultierenden Fixbuchung erhalten wir keine. Wir sehen die Änderungen im System, hätten aber gerne zusätzlich eine automatische Benachrichtigung per E-Mail.Die Einstellungen wurden gemäß Knowledge Base vorgenommen: alle relevanten Häkchen gesetzt alle Mitarbeiter, Rollen korrekt hinterlegt Hat jemand eine Idee, woran das liegen könnte oder ob hierfür eine zusätzliche Einstellung nötig ist?Vielen Dank!Grünerhof Obergurgl

In den letzten Tagen habe ich bei mehreren Benutzern ungewöhnliche Bezeichnungen in Mews beobachtet, zb eine Zimmerkategorie heißt plötzlich “Überlegenes Zimmer” statt “Superior Zimmer”.Tipp: Stellt die automatische Übersetzung in eurem Browser ab (zumindest “diese Website niemals übersetzen”).Recently I saw weird labels in non-English spoken users’ Mews, f.ex. “Superior Room” shown as whatever the literal translation in their language is. Disable automatic translation in your users’ browsers to avoid this. This is not a malfunction of Mews but a setting of the individual browser.

Does anyone else already miss the old accounting report? 😅I find the new “ledger activity report” very user-unfriendly, with all the small boxes you have to scroll through.It gives no good overview at all.

Hello everyone,We frequently encounter the following issue:Guests request that a restaurant receipt from MEWS POS (or other integrations) be split across different rooms/guest profiles upon departure. However, duplicate items from POS receipts are combined into a single item in the billing window. For example, grape juice: These three grape juices cannot be split across separate invoices after the fact; they constitute a single item and can therefore only be paid on one invoice. Of course, one could manually calculate the amounts and allocate them to different payment methods. But perhaps someone here is familiar with this issue and even has a solution for booking the items individually?After all, with products from bookable services, everything is ultimately booked as individual, divisible items. Hallo zusammen,wie geht Ihr mit der Mehrwertsteueränderung in “Mews POS” um? Konkret geht es mir um das Frühstück. Das POS scheint sich ja nicht automatisch mit dem PMS zu synchronisieren und selbst kann man wohl auch keine Synchro anstoßen. Müssen die beiden Splitting-Produkte dann zusätzlich händisch dort hinterlegt werden? Dann erfolgt aber keine Zuordnung zu den richtigen Kostenstellen etc. Auch ist die Frage, ob man Speisen- und Getränkeanteil zu einem Produkt kombinieren kann, damit man im S2 nicht immer zwei Produkte anwählen muss. Hi All.We are in the process of setting up MEWS for first time use. I have a query regarding the way space configurations work.Say we have Room 1 which can be setup as both a double or a twin, how can I make these options bookable for customers? I can only seem to be able to assign one space configuration to a space at a time.

Dear Mews team, Happy New Year 2026 and a big THANK YOU for introducing the feature ‘Collect Payment Method’.Two questions / remarks: 1) does this form of payment request entail a financial cost? (eg. fixed amount per request)2) when the guest has completed the information, we are not notified this has happened.→ with a classic payment request we get the message a task has been completed. Could this also be introduced for this form of payment request / Collect Payment Method ?

Hi, we’re having a large number of guests who are opting out of our marketing emails via the guest portal.  Of course we want to be GDPR compliant but it is frustrating for our marketing efforts that happy & valuable guests are opting out before they have even received marketing communications, because the portal almost directs them to do it - and so you’d expect them to opt out if given the choice here.  Is there a way to change how this appears.  Does anyone have any advice from their experiences?  Many thanks

Ich habe ein paar Fragen, die ich gern besprechen möchte. Ich bin neu in einem Hotel und kurz gesagt:Wir haben aktuell viel zu viele Zimmerkategorien (wurden früher von einer Kollegin angelegt). Das bedeutet: DZS (buchbar für 2 Personen) DZS3 (buchbar für 2 Personen, max. 3 Personen) DZD (buchbar für 2 Personen) DZD3 (buchbar für max. 3 Personen) DZD4 (buchbar für max. 4 Personen)  DZS und DZS3 kosten dasselbe für 2 Personen, der einzige Unterschied ist, dass in DZS3 ein Extrabett reinpasst.Das Gleiche gilt für DZD / DZD3 / DZD4. Die Erklärung meiner Kollegin war, dass es technisch nicht möglich sei, ein Zustellbett über HNS anzupassen.Ich bin aber der Meinung, dass Mews eine Mindest- und Maximalbelegung zulässt und man das auch über HNS einstellen kann. wir sin

I’m wondering if any hotel has successfully integrated an RFID card dispenser into the MEWS kiosk for room keys. These dispensers are relatively inexpensive and can be built into the reception desk.In my experience, the step where the guest needs to take a card and place it on the key encoder during check-in is where we face the biggest challenges in getting guests to understand the process, despite videos and instructions.If the kiosk were semi-automatic, this would make things considerably easier.I would appreciate hearing how other hotels handle this!

In the pre-arrival communication with guests a QR code is included for faster check-in at the kiosk. However, we have not been able to get this function to work well at all—mainly because guests struggle to understand how to position the code correctly, as well as which camera to use (front vs. rear).I would also like to add that we are not using a small tablet; our kiosk is installed on a larger touchscreen, which may affect the setup and user experience.What experience do other hotels have with the QR code for kiosk self (not assisted) check-in?Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!I recently noticed that the requirement for email address in the check in form as been set to “NOT required” by default for the reservation owner: I am pretty sure that this had been set to “required” previously. As of now this setting allowed guests to check-in without email and if a booking.com proxy address was in file it did not ask the guests for their direct email address.Is this change intentional? What are the reason behind this change? A regression/bug? If I set it to back to “required” will this again trigger the email collection for @guest.booking.com addresses and expedia proxa addresses ?I will try and report back … Clarification by MEWS ​@Mews Community Team  highly appreciated :-) Kind regards,Jean-Philipp.

Is it possible by routing or some other way to make sure a product is only added to new bookings?The system wil now apply the product with a product rule to all the bookings. And will show the product when we trigger it with check in or change of guests at the already made booings. Now we have to manually remove any unintended additional products so that the price matches what the guest originally agreed to.This process is time-consuming, inefficient, and prone to errors.

Hello everyone and happy New Year 😊Perhaps you can help me: I am currently (finally) trying to edit our confirmation templates using the new “customize templates” function in MEWS. However, I'm missing an important merge tag to be able to use it properly, namely “room rate per night”. Unfortunately, our daily rates change very often and it's important to us that these are listed individually in the reservation confirmation.How do you do this? Is there a workaround?Thank you in advance, I really appreciate your input 💚
