Dear Mews Community,due to the increased amount of fake Mews Login Sites, which peaked 2-3 months ago, we gathered our thoughts and experiences in the security area. Happy to spark a conversation about the topic here.Mews has implemented various security measures like the 2FA / New Device Logins / SSO, BUT we think there are other options which should also be added to actively prevent any hacking attempts.I think we can all agree that the main security threats stem from our front office agents in combination with the fluctuation. Additionally, it becomes more critical if a user has access to multiple properties (e.g. Nighties that take care of multiple hotels)Please find a few of our suggestions below:Redefine User privilegesUser privileges – in my opinion – are a mess right now. Dear Community,Are you often faced with the same challenge?:When many orders are open at the same time, it is very idle to find the right one. Although you can filter by table number or Name etc., only your own orders are displayed sorted and then the rest below, excluding yours.It would be great to have a field with a cross-search, in which you could simply enter name or room number or table number etc. and then find the order.Are you with me? Hi Community!We are struggling a bit with the new email templates, specifically the price per room. Mews loops through the reservations in the confirmation email, and displays the info for each reservation. But does not show the price. The price is only shown in a summary at the bottom.For us, this summary shows up as:  This makes it impossible for the guest to figure out to which room the price belongs.  However, in the example text, in the mail editor, the merge tag show the name of the room above each charge. Is that just misleading, or does that actually work for other properties? Are we doing something wrong..?Or does

HelloWe are changing the price for breakfast supplements using our B&B rates.  I have changed the product rule for our B&B rates to assign the new breakfast product to the rate code.However we are now seeing examples where MEWS is adding the new product to bookings that already exist with the old product assigned, thereby creating a duplicate with both the old product and new product assigned to the booking.I don’t want to create a new set of rate codes with the new breakfast price, since their are many dependencies and mappings that would require a lot of updating.Anyone experienced anything similar and has a solution other than manually correcting it every time?Thanks

Welchen kumulierten Bericht aus Mews nutzt ihr, um dem Housekeeping die Abreisen, Anreisen und in House Gäste für eine Woche mitzuteilen? Danke für eure Tipps.

Hallo,Vielleicht habe ich da eine Blockade aber ich kann leider nicht erkennen, wie ich als Administrator eine bestehende Restriktionen überschreiben kann.Das Problem ist, dass ich jedes Mal die Restriktionen modifizieren oder gar löschen muss, um diese bestehende Restriktionen in Teilen zu überschreiben. Bei unserem Vorherigen PMS war es als Administrator jederzeit möglich, ein Restriktion einfach nur zu überschreiben.Danke für eure Infos und Feedback im Voraus.

Hi Mews Community,we use Mews + Guest Portal and would like to make City Tax mandatory to pay during online check-in — for both OTA and direct bookings.A few questions: Is it possible to offer additional payment methods in the Guest Portal (beyond credit card)? What’s the cleanest way to set this up: City Tax/Stay Product + Payment Policy, or (tax) deposit / automatic tax deposit? Ideally, guests should pay only the city tax during online check-in, while the remaining balance can be paid later. How do you handle the calculation in this setup (e.g., per person/per night, exemptions like children, partial stays/changes, and adjustments if the guest count or dates change after check-in)? Any best-practice setup tips are appreciated.

Good morning everybody from Venice, Italy.I would like to ask the community how they approach the following very common situation: When you have two or more rooms travelling together as a family, it can very well happen that one customer will settle for all of them. In a previous PMS I was able to just route any charges to e.g. the kids’ room to the parent room using ‘route to room’ and inserting the corresponding room number.Mews does not seem to have this feature, other than changing the bill owner, which however does not solve the issue of any further charges made during the stay to be routed automatically to the main room. Any charges made to the kids’ room remains in a new bill in the kids’ room.Is there any feature or work-around that perhaps I am overlooking?Thank you very much for your feedback, it will be much appreciated.Paola

We have a few guests who come very regularly (like one day a week). When we try to book them for a year, it is a very monotonous process to manually book 45 rooms!Is there a method we’re missing? Thanks
