MEWS RMS vs. Atomize - what does it mean for existing customers?

Hello ​@Mews Community Team!

The MEWS RMS tool looks exciting, we are using Atomize since before Atomize was acquired by MEWS. Now I am wondering what will be the path forward for current Atomize users?

What are the advantages of Mews RMS? Are there any drawbacks? Will there be a migration path?

Does MEWS RMS include RealTime Optimization with AutoPilot mode? 

What about the costs of Atomize vs. Mews RMS?

Will Atomize users get new features and updates as well as Mews RMS?

If there is a migration from Atomize to Mews RMS, will historical data maintained?

I understand that it’s a priority to gain new users, but still it would be great to know what the plan is for existing users?

Thanks for raising this, and thanks to ​@Erick Adorno  as well for the thoughtful summary above. 

To add a bit more context, Mews RMS is built on the same pricing optimization engine behind Atomize, so for existing Atomize customers, this should feel much more like a continuation than a reset. In other words, the pricing logic you already know and trust is not being replaced. It is being brought into Mews as a more native and connected experience, so your team can spend less time switching between tools, reconciling data, and managing separate workflows.

One of the biggest changes is that rate strategy, pricing, and revenue performance analysis are accessible from a single Mews workspace, through our deep integration with Mews BI. That means a more connected workflow and better visibility into performance, with richer dashboards for key metrics like ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, and pickup. The goal is not only to support pricing decisions, but also to help you and your teams spot broader revenue opportunities with more confidence (e.g., input into your property's upsell strategy or the use of allowances for guests).
 

A few points that speak directly to your questions:

  • Autopilot and real-time optimization remain part of the experience and, as mentioned above, the underlying recommendation engine is the same. Autopilot still works within the guardrails you set. Mews RMS also adds more transparency around pricing decisions, with explanations designed to make it clearer why the system is recommending or applying a rate change.
  • On pricing, the exact commercial terms are something your Customer Success Manager will be able to discuss with you as you approach your contract renewal. But in principle, there will not be any change in pricing specifically attached to the migration, nor will there be any service fees involved in migrating to Mews RMS 
  • Your existing setup, historical data and configuration will all move over as part of the migration.


From September onwards, we will start proactively reaching out to Atomize customers to discuss their individual cases and map out the best path for their migration. Atomize remains supported until migration happens and you will receive advance notice before anything changes. One of the key benefits of Mews RMS is that it is connected to the wider Mews Ecosystem, so yes, the majority of our innovation and new feature efforts will focus on Mews RMS.

Hi Jean-Philipp,

I'd wait for Mews to confirm the contract and pricing specifics, but a few things are already public and clear up most of the confusion, because "Mews RMS vs Atomize" is a bit of a miss comm imo.

Mews RMS is Atomize. Since the acquisition, Atomize has been getting embedded natively into the Mews cloud (you can already log in to it from the Mews dashboard), and that embedded engine is what's being branded Mews RMS. So this isn't a different product replacing Atomize, it's Atomize moving deeper inside Mews. That also answers your Autopilot question: real-time optimization with Autopilot is the core Atomize feature and it's central to the RMS, so it isn't going anywhere. Mews has said publicly that Autopilot already runs pricing automatically for around 70% of users.

On migration: from Mews's own roadmap updates around Unfold this year, the migration of existing Atomize customers onto Mews RMS is scheduled to start from September. So there is a planned path, you won't be rebuilding from scratch.

What I would not take from a forum, and would get from your Mews account manager:
1. Your specific pricing, Atomize vs Mews RMS, on your current contract.
2. Whether your full historical data and configuration carry over in the migration, and in what form.
3. The exact timing for your property and region.

For what it's worth as a daily Atomize user: the direction since the acquisition has been more investment, not less. Native Mews login, new AI features, deeper data flow from the PMS. As an existing user I've seen the product gain capability, not get parked. The questions worth pinning Mews down on are the commercial and data-migration ones above, not whether the tool has a future.

Raise the contract and data-retention points directly with your account manager… :)
