Best practice: accounting workflow for pre-paid OTA bookings

Hi Community!I’m wondering what your workflow is for pre-paid bookings from OTA’s, those which are paid via bank transfer after guest departure.Booking.com, for example, is now only sending us pre-paid bookings. And we get paid once a week via bank transfer. No more virtual credit cards. Our current workflow is this:Routing rule will move room charges to Booking.com bill The guest does not get an invoice for their stay After guest departure, once we get paid, we move all bookings for that week in a single bill to Booking.com and close itIf the guest requests an invoice, before they are checked-out:Move the room charges back to the guest bill Create a deposit for the total amount send the positive deposit amount to booking.com bill Close the bill to the guest with the deposit The positive deposit amount will then be closed on the collective Booking.com billIf the guests requests an invoice after check-out, but before we closed the Booking.com bill:We cannot make deposits anymore We send

CheckIn Daten für alle Personen abfragen

Guten Tag, bis vor Kurzem war es nötig, beim Check In von ALLEN anreisenden Personen pro Zimmer die Daten via Kiosk abzufragen. Seit ca. 3 Wochen reicht es wieder, dass nur 1 Person mit persönlichen Daten eincheckt. Ist es möglich, dies umzustellen, damit wieder alle anreisenden Gäste das Anreiseformular ausfüllen müssen? Die Daten fehlen somit aktuell zur Auswertung für das Statistische Bundesamt. Vielen Dank!

Drops on mews booking engine with meta search

Hey,We recently reviewed our data regarding the booking engine and noticed that the conversion rate is really low when users come via Metasearch.For us, this has a lot to do with the information about the hotel that guests receive from the booking engine.Currently, users are redirected straight to the "select category" section, which is generally great, but it can be overwhelming for guests as no other information about the hotel is provided. I think to improve the conversion rate, it would be great to rebuild this section of the booking engine and include the possibility to add more general information.Is there something we might already be missing? Plausibilitätscheck für offene Forderungen zum Monatsende

Wir haben bisher zum Monatsende einmal die offenen Forderungen zwischen Mews und Datev abgeglichen. Dazu haben wir die “Guthaben von Mews Payments” gefiltert. Bis Aug. 23 hat das auf den Cent gepasst. Seitdem wurden zunehmend Vorauszahlungsraten eingeführt und in den Zahlungen logischerweise Zahlung für Buchungen in der Zukunft enthalten sind. Durch diese Änderung funktioniert der Abgleich nicht mehr. Ich führe das auf die Umstellung zurück.Meine Frage: Gibt es einen Report, mit dem man zu einem Stichtag (z.B. Monatsende) alle Zahlungen, die eine Buchung nach diesem Stichtag betreffen, herausfiltern kann. Also alle Vorauszahlungen. Noch besser wäre es natürlich, in dem “Guthaben von Mews Payments”-Bericht die Vorauszahlungen auszunehmen.Ich habe dazu nichts gefunden. Über das Hauptbuch komme ich hier auch nicht wirklich weiter. Meine Versuche mit Mews Analytics waren ebenfalls nicht erfolgreich. Abgesehen davon dauern die Auswertungen viel zu lange….Wenn hier jemand Erfahrungswerte hat

Changed Checkin / Invisible Companions

Recently Mews decided to change the checkin / kiosk to not include guest companions anymore. In the current state the fetched information is below the minimum we need.Also problematic about the whole change is that this wasn’t communicated beforehand but instead a day late. With the impact on workflows and the confusion it created that should really be handled differently the next time.Right now we are looking for alternatives to replace the checkin / kiosk with a system that let us fetch the information we need but we don’t really want another service for that. I know that there are some plans to allow us to customize the information collected by the checkin which would completely solve the problems we have right now.Is there a rough timeline about these changes so we can plan accordingly?

Hallo zusammen,bei uns gibt es die Option rechts über den Kategorien “ Vor Ort Essen” und “Zum Mitnehmen” - gerne würde ich “Zum Mitnehmen” löschen. Man kann da automatisch eine Anpassung der MWST hinterlegen, da wir aber nichts haben, was man mitnehmen kann, würde ich das gerne deaktivieren. Ich weiß allerdings nicht wie. Hello, We’ve been getting Mews emails lately: “as per your request; you can reset your account password ….”However, no (active) staff member or myself asked for a password reset.I can apparently disregard this e-mail. However, should I be worried someone is trying to get into my account?

Booking.com deletes Online Check-In and Mews Messages Links

I am surprised that I couldn’t find any thread discussing this issue.Maybe I am the only one with this problemFor the past month, I’ve tried everything, but Booking.com continues to remove all links from every email we send. This prevents us from sharing the online check-in link or Mews Messages link with our guests.My booking.com account manager suggested writing out the link instead of using a button, but that didn’t work either.I even added the „app.mews.com“ link to Booking.com whitelist - „your approved links“The account manager is aware of the issue but hasn’t provided a solution.Does anyone know a solution to this issue?

Billing - added product displayed twice

Dear Mews, I noticed that on the billing screen, an added product is henceforth displayed twice.(although in fact consumed only once)I see this is to do with either “Linking product to reservation” or not.If you do (which is default), the 1 product is listed twice on the billing screen.If you don’t, the 1 product is listed once on the billing screen.1 product being listed twice on the same bill creates confusion - it gives the idea that there were two consumptions (whereas only one was taken).However, as the default setting is to link the product to a reservation, there must be a good reason to work this way? Please let me know what the best way to work is.Most clear way to work, as far as I am concerned, is that 1 added product is listed once on the billing screen (~ siutation 2).Any implications I should be aware of when not linking a product to a reservation?---I will visualise both situations: Situation 1: one product (minibar consumption) is added and ‘product is linked to reserv

checked in online, room category reserved and room number

Hello, I don't know if this topic has already been discussed. We've noticed, following feedback from a customer who checked in online, that when the customer fills in the online check-in form, the form confirms “the room category assigned”. However, in my opinion, it would be preferable to indicate “the room category reserved”, especially in relation to the paid upgrade feature of the reservation. For example, if we have upgraded a guest for free (for whatever reason, construction work, overbooking, etc.) and then, when they arrive, we change them back to their original category, it could be confusing for them. We've also had the case where the room number assigned to him was confirmed on the form, even though this room number can change at the last minute. Wouldn't it be better in this case to indicate “the category of room booked” on the online check-in form, and above all not to indicate the room number?
