I would like to inquire with hotels in Vienna regarding deposits.
Currently, all payments collected through the Mews automatic link are recorded in the Deposit Ledger. My question is: does this deposit need to be subject to tax, or it should not ?

+2As far as I know there are different interpretations to it and it can be pretty complex (i.e. depending on the percentage of the deposit of the total sum, ...).
I think you should talk to your tax consultant.
But there are other hotels here from Austria, I hope they share their current implementation.
