How do I close a rate for all dates past a certain date?

Hi, I’m new and in training and setting up my rates. By default it seems anybody can make a booking in the far future. I can put closed restrictions in a certain time window but if I go farther than that in the future then I can book something say in year 3050 no problem. It is kind of weird to me to have such dates open in my system. Are these far-future availabilities pushed to the OTAs and channel managers? Is the only way to protect oneself from such bookings to put a ridiculously high price on the tarif? seems like a hack to me and a malicious user could still make a phony booking... Is there anyway tarifs can be closed for all dates above a certain date ?Thanks

Date of birth

Hello We have just Migrate from Amadeus-Hotel Concepts to Mews and we are experiencing a weird bug Indeed while scanning the id to complete the guest profile (or by completing it manually), it appears that all guests borned before 1961 are considered by Mews as being born in the year twothousands...It means that if you are born in 1960, it captures 2060 as the year of birth and therefore you cannot save your guest profile as there is an error message poping up We are in a dd/mm/yy configuration ans have not try another one as we want to stick to it (more common in Europe) Did somebody already enounter that issue and find a solution? If so, I would be glad if you could help. And if the question as already been answered previously in another topic, please accept my apologies in advance ;-) Waiting for your reply  Best regards to all of you Mewsers   Stephane

External Payment - Invoice

Hello everyone We just migrated from Amadeus Idpms to Mews One of the consequences is that some of the open receivables on our books in Amadeus were not yet balanced at the time of migration (because not paid yet).  Recently we have received a payment for an invoice issued in June 2023 I was wondering how to post the payment in Mews. Here is the idea I thought of:=> First: going on to the company profile - billing - open new bill=> Then: go on payment - external - choose invoice and post a negative value of the paid amount (put a note for reference like: “ bill june 2023 Amadeus”)=> Last: post the payment (wire transfer in this case) which would balance the bill  What do you think? The main question here of course is: how to process the remaining receivables from the previous PMS in Mews ?😉 Thanks in advance for your help and insights Regards S.

Posting a product on a 2 or 3 night stay package

We created a package with 2 different half board.On the first night, I need to post products from our first restaurant (Evening Meal - food + beverages at RestoX). On the second night, I need to post another product from our other restaurant (Evening Meal - food & beverage at RestoY).In the product configuration, you do not have this kind of choice.The product is “Per Person”. But one is before the first night and the other one is before the second night. The only options are Reservation Start / Reservation End. Neither is correct.  => how to post the correct products with correct prices on the correct nights?

IBE Denied bookings stats

Does anyone know of software or somewhere in MEWS B.I. that can show you how many date searches queries were denied due to no-avail?Essentially, we would like to crunch some numbers to understand if we are in fact giving too much to OTA’s, and can actually reserve more rooms for ourselves for specific dates or periods.

House use alternative

Hi, we will be closed midweek throughout the winter.  The only way to show this on the calendar seems to be as a restriction or by adding house use for each room/date.  This is very onerous, but also means that clean rooms are automatically marked as dirty when it goes into that period of time.  Is there a way to easily set a repeated block on weekdays please?

Rate restricted to booking dates

Hello everyone.  I am looking at setting up a Black Friday deal which is open for selected arrival dates between Black Friday 2023 and the end of 2024.  This part is all fine however, I would like to limit the booking period from Black Friday to 31st December 2023.  I cannot see a way of doing this through the restrictions option.  Has anyone successfully set anything like this up before or is the only way to manually turn it off after the 31st December? Thanks in advance...

Diagnose Kaba Saflok - Ambiance keycutter error codes

We are using the Saflok / Kaba / Dormakaba Ambiance system and the keycutter with MEWS and experiencing problems.  Does anyone know how to fix these specific error codes from MEWS when trying to cut keys but failing?Error code:  “"Get reservation data failed..." We're exploring best practices for selling packages online, especially via channel manager like SiteMinder and the direct Booking.com integration. Our goal is to effectively offer B&B packages with the associated products. We want to ensure that both the rate and products are dispatched to the channel via the channel manager, and upon returning to Mews, the product is accurately applied.Here's a specific challenge: In Mews, if our room rate is $150 and an additional $12 per person for breakfast, everything aligns seamlessly within Mews and our booking engine.However, when it comes to channels, we haven’t managed to set it up. Considerations ensuring the product count is correctly based on the pax count in the reservation.Questions:How are you managing this? Do you have any examples or specific setups you can share that have been effective? Managing apartments in different locations

Hello mewsters!I have been struggling with for a long time: what would be the best way to manage apartments that are located in different addresses than our hoste/hotel? We currently have two separate mews “profiles” but it doesn’t seem to help. One of the problems is to send individual confirmation emails/arrival instructions. I know there is lot of PMS’s systems that can do this easily, but is there a way to do this with MEWS?Thanks for sharing your best practices and tips!

Split reservation final night

Hi Team,When splitting a reservation we used to be able to choose the time the reservation was split, now the time functionality has been removed.This is causing us a big problem for room moves after midnight on the final night of the stay, as it is no longer possible to split the reservation and perform a room move.Is anyone else experiencing issues with not being able to select the time a reservation is split?

Place extentions in same room when booked through booking engine

Good morning all, We’ve gotten this situation a few times, so I thought I’d ask. We operate a receptionist-less hotel, where we utilize the kiosk and a digital receptionist. Sometimes guests find it easier to just book again through the booking engine, but it’ll place guests in a different room. It would be much easier for our operations if they were placed in the same room by default.  Is there an option that I am missing, or anything in the development road map coming up? It’s a small thing for most people here but would help us out!

Hi everyone - how do we implement “BETTENSTEUER” (like city tax) which is new from 2024? I did find a button Bettensteuer in Mews but only under PRODUCTS which would mean, that we would have to manually add this to each reservation. Surely this cannot be right…. Registration card question

Dear Mews Community, My intern has a great question to share with you regarding digital registration cards:'Hi all! I would like to get started with digital registration cards using tablets. I would like to have guests fill in these registration card themselves at the front desk. Is it possible to link the registration cards on the tablet directly to Mews profiles so that employees don't have any extra work on this. Is this possible and if so how? Thanks in advance for your help!For our hotels we would like to start working with a digital form of registration cards. We do not want a full self check-in but we do want to digitalize this process. Connection Error

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue with Mews and Booking.com. Or knows what can cause it? Our Inventory updating was turned off due to an unexplained error. This is bound to cause huge problems. This was the error message we were sent from Mews: <?xml version='1.0' standalone='yes'?> <availability> <fault code="401" string="Authorization Required" /> </availability>   All your inventory operations are disabled because of the error and no updates are being sent! It’s been about a month with little to no explanation from Mews or Booking.com.
