Hallo zusammen,wie geht Ihr mit der Mehrwertsteueränderung in “Mews POS” um? Konkret geht es mir um das Frühstück. Das POS scheint sich ja nicht automatisch mit dem PMS zu synchronisieren und selbst kann man wohl auch keine Synchro anstoßen. Müssen die beiden Splitting-Produkte dann zusätzlich händisch dort hinterlegt werden? Dann erfolgt aber keine Zuordnung zu den richtigen Kostenstellen etc. Auch ist die Frage, ob man Speisen- und Getränkeanteil zu einem Produkt kombinieren kann, damit man im S2 nicht immer zwei Produkte anwählen muss. Hat hier jemand schon eine Lösung gefunden?Viele Grüße aus Köln.Christian

Hi All.We are in the process of setting up MEWS for first time use. I have a query regarding the way space configurations work.Say we have Room 1 which can be setup as both a double or a twin, how can I make these options bookable for customers? I can only seem to be able to assign one space configuration to a space at a time.

Dear Mews team, Happy New Year 2026 and a big THANK YOU for introducing the feature ‘Collect Payment Method’.Two questions / remarks: 1) does this form of payment request entail a financial cost? (eg. fixed amount per request)2) when the guest has completed the information, we are not notified this has happened.→ with a classic payment request we get the message a task has been completed. Could this also be introduced for this form of payment request / Collect Payment Method ?

Hi, we’re having a large number of guests who are opting out of our marketing emails via the guest portal.  Of course we want to be GDPR compliant but it is frustrating for our marketing efforts that happy & valuable guests are opting out before they have even received marketing communications, because the portal almost directs them to do it - and so you’d expect them to opt out if given the choice here.  Is there a way to change how this appears.  Does anyone have any advice from their experiences?  Many thanks

Ich habe ein paar Fragen, die ich gern besprechen möchte. Ich bin neu in einem Hotel und kurz gesagt:Wir haben aktuell viel zu viele Zimmerkategorien (wurden früher von einer Kollegin angelegt). Das bedeutet: DZS (buchbar für 2 Personen) DZS3 (buchbar für 2 Personen, max. 3 Personen) DZD (buchbar für 2 Personen) DZD3 (buchbar für max. 3 Personen) DZD4 (buchbar für max. 4 Personen)  DZS und DZS3 kosten dasselbe für 2 Personen, der einzige Unterschied ist, dass in DZS3 ein Extrabett reinpasst.Das Gleiche gilt für DZD / DZD3 / DZD4. Die Erklärung meiner Kollegin war, dass es technisch nicht möglich sei, ein Zustellbett über HNS anzupassen.Ich bin aber der Meinung, dass Mews eine Mindest- und Maximalbelegung zulässt und man das auch über HNS einstellen kann. wir sin

I’m wondering if any hotel has successfully integrated an RFID card dispenser into the MEWS kiosk for room keys. These dispensers are relatively inexpensive and can be built into the reception desk.In my experience, the step where the guest needs to take a card and place it on the key encoder during check-in is where we face the biggest challenges in getting guests to understand the process, despite videos and instructions.If the kiosk were semi-automatic, this would make things considerably easier.I would appreciate hearing how other hotels handle this!

In the pre-arrival communication with guests a QR code is included for faster check-in at the kiosk. However, we have not been able to get this function to work well at all—mainly because guests struggle to understand how to position the code correctly, as well as which camera to use (front vs. rear).I would also like to add that we are not using a small tablet; our kiosk is installed on a larger touchscreen, which may affect the setup and user experience.What experience do other hotels have with the QR code for kiosk self (not assisted) check-in?Any tips or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!I recently noticed that the requirement for email address in the check in form as been set to “NOT required” by default for the reservation owner: I am pretty sure that this had been set to “required” previously. As of now this setting allowed guests to check-in without email and if a booking.com proxy address was in file it did not ask the guests for their direct email address.Is this change intentional? What are the reason behind this change? A regression/bug? If I set it to back to “required” will this again trigger the email collection for @guest.booking.com addresses and expedia proxa addresses ?I will try and report back … Clarification by MEWS ​@Mews Community Team  highly appreciated :-) Kind regards,Jean-Philipp.

Is it possible by routing or some other way to make sure a product is only added to new bookings?The system wil now apply the product with a product rule to all the bookings. And will show the product when we trigger it with check in or change of guests at the already made booings. Now we have to manually remove any unintended additional products so that the price matches what the guest originally agreed to.This process is time-consuming, inefficient, and prone to errors.

Hello everyone and happy New Year 😊Perhaps you can help me: I am currently (finally) trying to edit our confirmation templates using the new “customize templates” function in MEWS. However, I'm missing an important merge tag to be able to use it properly, namely “room rate per night”. Unfortunately, our daily rates change very often and it's important to us that these are listed individually in the reservation confirmation.How do you do this? Is there a workaround?Thank you in advance, I really appreciate your input 💚

Hallo zusammen, leider habe ich dazu nichts in der Community finden können, da ihr alle scheinbar sehr gerne damit arbeitet, wir allerdings nicht: Ist es möglich, dass “Angefragt” beim Erstellen einer Reservierung zu entfernen? Wir erstellen schon immer festdatierte Optionen und benötigen dieses Feature nicht. Vielen lieben Dank.

Keine Frage, aber eine kleine Feststellung heute, auf die wir eher durch Zufall gekommen sind - letztendlich hat mir Kicky vom Support dann geholfen.  Ein Kollege hat gestern bei einem Produkt “buchbar für Gäste" aktiviert, bei dem es nicht aktiviert werden sollte, und so war es dann über die Homepage buchbar. Ich habe die Option heute deaktiviert, jedoch verschwand das Produkt nicht von der Homepage, erst als mir Kicky dann sagte, dass gestern die Funktion “Werbeaktionen” geändert wurde und es nun Zusatzverkäufe sind - da musste ich die Produkte dann manuell entfernen. Ich wollte das nur gerne ans Mews-Team weiter geben, dass das etwas verwirrend war - und vielleicht liest es ja jemand, der sich dann die Ursachensucherei sparen kann ;)

I have since developed my strategy and would love to have the option to sell in the following groupings: More than 8 months lead time:Only book the whole house (14 rooms) Within 8 months lead time: The whole house orCan now book The Gallery (8 rooms)Can now book The Nook (5 rooms)Can now book The Loft Within 6 months lead timeCan do all the above but also book an individual room I have tried to set up a parent room structure so 5 rooms now exist within The Nook, but for this plan to work I need help with the option to be able to also book The whole house.Most importantly I need to be able to export the availability of the whole house as an ical to share with o

Nun hätten wir gerne, dass die Reservierungen mit 1 Person auch zuerst diesen Zimmern zugeteilt werden. Das geben aber die Varianten der Mews Reservation Assigments nicht her (Top Down, Bottom Up, Random, Preffered space features).Wir werden jetzt vermutlich etagenweise die Zimmerbestückung machen und dann Top Down/Bottom Up nutzen aber hat noch jemand eine andere Idee?Vielen Dank

I've come across questionable or misleading translations in Mews a few times, but recently a guest pointed out the following:This is, of course - especially directed at the guests - extremely unprofessional and untrustworthy, so my question is: how exactly does the translation process work?It's clear that this is a machine translation, but I'm wondering why it's so incredibly bad… it reminds me of the spam emails of the past. Furthermore, is there no native speaker checking the translated texts in Mews?

Hallo zusammen,zum 01.01.2026 erfolgt die Umstellung der Mehrwertsteuer. In unserer Klassifizierung ist jedoch weiterhin überall „Speisen und Getränke“ hinterlegt. Eine Änderung ist aktuell nicht möglich, da diese Angabe scheinbar von MEWS festgelegt ist.Wird diese Klassifizierung noch angepasst? In der aktuellen Form wäre sie ab diesem Zeitpunkt ja nicht mehr korrekt, das hier eine Trennung erfolgt ? Vielen Dank vorab und viele GrüßeMathias
