Hallo zusammen,gerade jetzt, wenn wir für deutsche Gäste keine Daten mehr abfragen, merken wir wie sehr ein Popup Fenster bei checkin fehlt. (Bisher war es immer ein Post-it auf dem Meldeschein).Habt ihr Tipps, wie Mitarbeiter an Infos erinnert werden, die bei check-in abgefragt werden sollen?Danke euch.Viele Grüße,Jasmin

Hello everyone,we've noticed that when creating a reservation, on the “Details” page, the confirmation mode defaults to “Do not send”. By changing the reservation status (to Requested or Optional) or even back to Confirmed, the confirmation mode automatically changes from “Do not send” to “Send”. This can be a source of error if the person making the reservation doesn't notice it. I think it would be preferable for the confirmation mode to default to “Do not send”, and for the person making the reservation to change it manually if necessary. what do you think? 

Hello everyone,we have encountered a small problem with customers who received booking confirmations and quotes (with rates) when they were travel agency bookings. customers were able to confirm and cancel these bookings directly from Mews Guest Portal. While it is clearly stated in the configuration of e-mail sending parameters, in the first remark: “Mews does not send e-mails to the recipient's address if it is not that of the company or travel agency associated with the booking.”but it seems that this rule is not applied. can you explain?

Hello MEWS Community, We are working on customizing the multi-property MEWS booking engine for our websites, which are linked to two PMS systems. We manage two adjacent MEWS properties (though technically with different addresses) and would like to adjust the following elements:                1.            Remove the Address: Is it possible to hide the address field entirely from the                                booking engine?                2.            Change Property Names in Booking Engine Only:                •             Wilmina Hotel → renamed to Hotel                •             Carlotta Apartments → renamed to ApartmentsWe’d like these name changes to apply exclusively to the booking engine without affecting other parts of the system. Alternatively, would it be feasible to overwrite specific elements of the booking engine using custom JSON code? We would greatly appreciate any guidance, tips, or suggestions from those who have tackled similar customization challenges. T

When we started with Mews we uploaded the import file with the already existing company profiles from our old PMS, and it contained a whole bunch of double data so I’m trying to merge the company profiles. Unfortunately I often have the case that one profile has the address, the other doesn’t, and when I want to merge both profiles I don’t see the address information, so I am never really sure which one to keep and which one not, but merging them does not mean the address will be updated and it happens that when I pick the wrong one, the address is just gone. Does anyone have any tips to handle this as uncomplicated as possible? :) 

Ich habe gerade versucht, im Gruppenreiter eine Zimmerliste mit den Teilnehmern und den E-Mail-Adressen hochzuladen. In der Liste war nun ein Teilnehmer, der bereits einmal zu Gast war und für den bereits ein Konto existiert - das wusste aber vorab niemand, so dass wir den bereits existierenden Gast nicht vor herunterladen der Blanko-Liste die wir an den Bucher geschickt haben noch nicht vorher eingetragen hatten, also war er auf der Blanko-liste auch noch nicht mit seinem bereits existierenden Konto.  Jetzt habe ich von Mews die Fehlermeldung erhalten, dass bereits ein Konto mit der E-Mail-Adresse existiert und musste bei 30 Teilnehmern erst einmal heraussuchen, wer denn bereits im System vorhanden ist.  Hat jemand einen praktikablen Trick, wie man so etwas umgeht? Ich weiß, wäre der Gast bereits eingetragen gewesen, hätte Mews bei der Liste auch diekt die Kundenkennung eingetragen, aber wenn wir den Firmen die Liste blanko schicken und sie vorab noch nicht mitgeteilt hatten, welcher

I know Mews can run on Mac in the cloud, but can it use Mews connector app to connect with printers and key cutters? This is what I find (Looks like you have to run windows) our hotel was going to be switching to Mac.  Install the Mews Connector app onto the same computer as your local devices, for example, key cutters or printers. This computer needs to:be a Windows PC, with Windows Vista or later version, operate 24/7 and never shut down, run on .NET framework 4.8.

Hey Community,  I wonder how you handle automatic check-ins with group bookings in your property?  As a property that only has single beds, all bookings are prepaid and the whole customer journey is digital we have the problem that only the booker is in the system and gets all the messaging.  Is it possible to have an automated process for groups where a form is send out and the group can put Names and email addresses in there and after submitting the individual bookings in Mews are changed?  Would be nice to get some best practice here. Cheers Hendrik

I am searching for a solution which will enable me to save all invoices and bills, as individual pdf files for a specific period - ex. Hello everyone,At our hotel, we require more than 60% confirmations that include either adding cost centers or removing the room rate. However, we’ve noticed that Mews does not currently allow these changes to be made directly within the confirmation emails.We’re wondering if there’s any way to fix this limitation within Mews? Alternatively, are there any external tools or integrations available that can provide adjustable confirmation emails?Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance.

Hi,I’ve noticed that the search functionality has improved significantly compared to the simple search we had before – well done!However, one thing is still a bit frustrating for me: why is it not possible to search for a booker and see all the reservations associated with this person in their role as the booker?Typically, the booker is the main point of contact for us, especially when it comes to group reservations, so it would be really helpful to access that information easily.Looking forward to your insights!Best,Ed

Hi Community!I’m wondering what your workflow is for pre-paid bookings from OTA’s, those which are paid via bank transfer after guest departure.Booking.com, for example, is now only sending us pre-paid bookings. And we get paid once a week via bank transfer. No more virtual credit cards. Our current workflow is this:Routing rule will move room charges to Booking.com bill The guest does not get an invoice for their stay After guest departure, once we get paid, we move all bookings for that week in a single bill to Booking.com and close itIf the guest requests an invoice, before they are checked-out:Move the room charges back to the guest bill Create a deposit for the total amount send the positive deposit amount to booking.com bill Close the bill to the guest with the deposit The positive deposit amount will then be closed on the collective Booking.com billIf the guests requests an invoice after check-out, but before we closed the Booking.com bill:We cannot make deposits anymore We send

Hello Mews Community,I’m looking for advice on how to correctly set up tourist tax for our property in The Hague. Currently, we have tourist tax configured as a product with a product rule attached. However, in The Hague, tourist tax is only applicable for guests aged 13 and above.The challenge we’re facing is that the product rule in Mews doesn’t allow us to add age conditions. Hi everyone,We’re currently in the process of migrating to Mews, and one of the key areas we’re re-evaluating is our rate structure. In our previous system, we had an overwhelming 200+ rates! These rates were primarily created to gain segment insights and were set up for nearly everything—corporate contracts, GDS bookings, OTA channels, direct bookings, and more. While this worked for us in the past, it led to a lot of complexity in managing, maintaining, and analyzing our rate setup.As we transition to Mews, I’m keen on finding ways to streamline and simplify this approach. For instance:Corporate Rates: I don’t see the need to set up an individual rate for every single corporate negotiated contract anymore. There must be a more efficient way to manage this while still maintaining clarity in reporting and segmentation. Channel Rates: Similarly, creating rates for each channel (OTA, direct, etc.) feels unnecessary, especially since Mews already captures the channel in the reservation da

Hey,We recently reviewed our data regarding the booking engine and noticed that the conversion rate is really low when users come via Metasearch.For us, this has a lot to do with the information about the hotel that guests receive from the booking engine.Currently, users are redirected straight to the "select category" section, which is generally great, but it can be overwhelming for guests as no other information about the hotel is provided. I think to improve the conversion rate, it would be great to rebuild this section of the booking engine and include the possibility to add more general information.Is there something we might already be missing? Recently Mews decided to change the checkin / kiosk to not include guest companions anymore. In the current state the fetched information is below the minimum we need.Also problematic about the whole change is that this wasn’t communicated beforehand but instead a day late. With the impact on workflows and the confusion it created that should really be handled differently the next time.Right now we are looking for alternatives to replace the checkin / kiosk with a system that let us fetch the information we need but we don’t really want another service for that. I know that there are some plans to allow us to customize the information collected by the checkin which would completely solve the problems we have right now.Is there a rough timeline about these changes so we can plan accordingly?
