Hallo in die Runde, ich wollte mal nach Euren Tipps zu einem guten Workflow bei selbst zuzahlenden Leistungen bei Tagungsteilnehmern fragen: Wie legt ihr unkompliziert die jeweiligen Rechnungsanschriften an?Wie ordnet ihr Restaurantbelege korrekt zu?Wie bucht ihr Leistungen, die nicht von der Firma übernommen unkompliziert, am besten in einem Rutsch, auf die jeweiligen Teilnehmer? Ich freue mich auf Eure Tipps und Tricks. Vielen Dank. Carina 

Hi all,I’m looking at the Bill management settings (screenshot attached). There’s an option “Allow modifying closed bills” which can be toggled on/off.My question is:If this option is turned off, does it apply universally to all users including Admins, or do certain roles (like Admin or higher-privileged roles) still retain the ability to edit closed invoices regardless of this setting?I’d like to clarify whether this is a strict platform-wide restriction, or if Admins can override it.Thanks in advance for any clarification!

Hello!We can charge virtual cards from Expedia for prepaid/nonrefundable reservations starting immediately after the booking has been created.we have set up payment policy for automatic charging accordingly. Until approx. 20.8.2024 that worked perfectly well, the virtual cards have been charged automatically. We did not change anything since than and now payments are automatically scheduled for the day of checkin instead of right away. According to mews help that is the case when the channel manager (in our case D-Edge) does not send CC activation date information. D-Edge says they never did… do I guess Mews changed the behavior sometime in August 2024. ​@Mews Community Team  can you verify that?what can we do to resume automatic charging of VCC at the time of reservation creation?is anyone else observing this change? How do you cope? It would be a pity if we had to manually charge those cards again..best regards,jp. 

Hi everyone,We’re setting up a recurring group booking workflow and I’d love some advice on the best way to handle communication settings.Every week we host the same tour group that: Stays for 3 nights Sends us a rooming list a few weeks in advance Arrives by bus and checks in with ID at reception Already has everything prepaid by the tour company The challenge: We don’t want each individual guest to receive confirmation, pre-arrival, or check-in emails. They don’t need communication from us, they just show up, stay, and leave. We also don’t want the tour company (payer) to receive 20+ confirmation and check-out emails every week. One invoice and one confirmation is enough. Has anyone found a clean way in MEWS to set this up efficiently? Do you: Leave guest emails blank? Use a “dummy” email for the payer profile? Or is there a smarter way to suppress automated emails for certain groups/rates? Any tips from other properties or confirmation on best practices would be super he

It's come to my attention that there are moments where booking.com doesn't apply a cancellation fee to reservations if for some reason they know they won't receive the payment from the guest. While this is in isolation nice as you won't need to pay commissions on these, it does bring a challenge when cancellation policies are applied in Mews anyways.  How do you find out that booking.com doesn't apply a cancelation fee?What do you do with the cancelation fee in Mews that's automatically applied and needs to be corrected?How frequently does this happen? I would love to hear from you on your best practises in this regard!

Hi,It would be great to see at a glance the gateway state of a bill sent on the guest/company dashboard.We can see it was “sent” but it doesn’t mean it was received.Guest/Company profile dashboard Gateway State let us know when dropped - in this example, there was a typo in the email addressWe could more easily identify when invoices have never reached our cutomers.Do you think that would be feasible?Thanks

Hello! I am still struggeling with my question regarding routing automated payments in Mews Operations - This is mainly an issue for conference guests. They are almost always supposed to go on an Invoice to the company. I used a rate I have created called “KK rom” for all of my conference guests. So since there is no company attached to this rate I can not route it to the company. Would I have to create a seperate rate for all of the companies visiting us for conferences to make this work? We of course have some rates for contract customers that are set up with individual rates but a lot of these will pay individually if they are visiting us for a job but when they are here for a conference it will go on an invoice. Would I then have to have 2 different rates for each company? One for when they should pay on checkin/checkout and one for Invoicing?  We have 100s of companies visiting us so if I have to make an individual rate and then a routing for each of them it would require more wor

Hallo zusammen,ich habe folgendes Problem, dass ich in Mews keine Releasezeit nach Stunden anlegen kann und in unserem Channelmanager (HNS) habe ich eigentlich einen automatischen Close für bestimmte Raten nach Uhrzeit aktiv, welcher durch Mews immer wieder geöffnet (überschrieben) wird.Hat jemand Erfahrungen damit in Mews eine Ratenschließung nach Uhrzeit einzustellen?Danke und liebe Grüße,Jasmin

I wonder, if anyone here is using n8n in combination with Mews? If yes, which automations did you build with it?I seems to be a powerful tool and it would be great to learn more about it. 

The timeline changes reservations colours depending on arrived, online check-in, held over etc. I would like my group rooms to be differentiated by a color also. Can this be done?

Hello! ​@Mews Community Team I noticed a very annoying issue with the KIOSK App update process.Since we, and most probably everyone else (?) is running the App for Guest SelfCheckIn in Single App Mode / Kiosk Mode on the iPad automatically updating the app through the app store or via MDM is not possible. I guess because the App is forced to stay open and cannot be updated while open.Therefore someone has to manually deactivate the Single App Mode through MDM or Supervised Access Tools. We use iMazing to put the iPad in Supervised mode and therefore the update process is extra tedious (go there, connect with cable to Mac, deactivate Single App Mode, initiate App Store Updates, reacticate Single App Mode )It would be appreciated if functionality breaking updates were announced in a mailing list so that we are aware if the fact that we need to go and update the app manually. Currently you can only assign a housekeeper to spaces on the same day, and that assignment is cleared at midnight on the same day.As a digital motel, we don’t have a 24 hour reception. Our front of house staff at the end of their shift in the evening assign spaces to housekeepers for the next day of cleaning, which can’t use the Mews app and to print out cleaning sheets because space assignment is cleared at midnight. This is tedious, particularly when cleaning schedules change… as is often the case.It would be far more effective if we could assign a housekeeper to spaces for the following day - something that most other PMS and housekeeping apps allow. Given Mews’ focus on being digital first, enabling more flexibility with their housekeeping module would align well with this intent.Is this a feature others would like to see developed?

Hi, I was just wondering is anyone had found a way around adding a product 1 by 1 for each night. Example: We charge a dog fee in our dog friendly rooms. we have to manually add a dog charge for each night individually.If a guest is staying for x2 weeks. We have to add the product x14 times...We would like an option to add one product and select how many nights it’s for.Any advice?

We use MEWS Payments as as payment processor and we use Siteminder’s Booking Engine - Direct Book as our Booking Engine.  The issue is that Siteminder only payment form only acts as a ‘payment window’ to collect card details but doesn't actually action the payment or as you would expect connect to MEWS Payments to process the payment during the booking process.We have spoken to Siteminder and their response is it is up to us to do manually.  Once the bookiing comes through MEWS Payments automatically processes payments which is fine, the issue is that the Siteminder Payment Window will accept any card and process and confirm bookings using the card that is entered, meaning that invalid and expired cards can be entered and  booking confirmation issuesd.  Leaving our Front of House with an admin and payment headache.  Surely Siteminder’s payment window should just connect to MEWS Payments at the point of sale?We have spoken to Siteminder and their response was to try to sell us into usin

Hello community!Here’s the list of the top 5 big problems with Mews for a Hostel: Timeline ordered by typology of the rooms instead of room numbers, confusion with room assignement, difficulties to manage day to day operations floor by floor and much more Any bill (of past, present and future reservations) connected to guest profille, big confusion with payments and billing when you have a guest in front of you Space status for housekeeping with inappropriate and incomplete filters Automatic rebate in some important changes of the reservation Difficulties in using blocks due to wrong calculation of availability between dorms and bedsThen Italian properties encounters problems with police report, fiscal topics and much more, still a lot to improve to reach Italian market.A lot more still must be improved, it is suggested to hire more people who worked at reception.
