Is it possible, and if so how, to set up a payment rule that automates the charging of a remaining balance due on the morning of a reservation’s arrival/start date?At the time of booking through the booking engine on our website, we collect payment for the first night’s room/tax plus any add-ons included during the booking/confirmation process. For multi-night reservations, the remaining balance is comprised of room/tax for nights 2 and beyond. I have not been able to figure out how to do set up a settlement rule. My first rule collects 100% of the first night plus additional expenses an products. When I attempt to create a second rule, I get an error message advising me “The sum of settlement values from all settlement rules with ‘Charge payment card’ action related to the parent rate group with ID… cannot be more than 100%”. Makes sense, but he only other option is a flat amount.  

I asked the AI support bot how I can post offline charges to room accounts but found no relevant information in the results or guidance offered. Our Square POS terminals in our outlets are not integrated with Mews because this integration hasn’t been released yet (or hadn’t as of late last year). Our Guests want to be able to charge their purchases from our outlets to their room accounts, including bar and restaurant checks. At our outlets, a Guest’s charge can be settled to a comp account in Square to balance the POS system and then the charge is physically passed off to the hotel’s front desk for the charge to be added to the Guest’s account manually. Posting it manually to the account is where I need help.So far, whenever I have had non-standard items that need to be charged to a Guest’s account, as the admin, I’ve had to create a product that is for the specific amount to be charged. I have a tricky one for you all & hope someone has a creative solution.Without having to create new space categories - you can quickly end with hundreds,…. how would you go about setting a price (supplement) for a feature.Let’s assume that we have 4 floors, and want to add €10 as a floor number feature for all spaces in a specific category.The Space category is Deluxe room and all the relevant spaces are attached.on the first floor no supplement with the base price being €200 on the second floor there is a floor supplement of €10 + €200 = €210 on the third floor there is a floor supplement of €20 + €200 = €220 on the fourth floor there is a supplement of €30 + € 200 = €230The same thought can be applied to other categories or other attributes like courtyard view, as opposed to park view.The only logical solution I can find would be to create a new space category for each floor & feature, and then set the price deferential….. but I want to avoid too many space categoriesSo we wo

We a boutique property that is in the process of switching to Mews…  We offer a fully contactless experience to our guests using an SMS guest communication & online check-in system (Akia) along with mobile keys (flexipass). But we are hitting a wall on setting up our system with Mews because we absolutely need contact info for at least one occupant in every room (otherwise we can not issue mobile keys).We had it working quite well on our previous PMS (despite that PMS’s numerous other failings) because by default they only allowed 1 room per booking, therefore always had contact info for every room.Does anyone in the community have any suggestions on how to approach this? NOTE: Our property does not have a traditional reception/front desk with staff available for manual check-in and the front door to our property is secured to allow key access only. So kiosk for check-in on arrival is not possible.

Hi Collegues,I wonder if someone has found a solution for the problem if a guests without a reservation is arriving after midnight. How can he create a reservation for this night on a website that is using the booking machine of MEWS. Right now he can only reserve a room for the next day.The background is that we only have one security guard at night and he should not have access to the booking system. MEWS, the payment terminals and the key card system are already connected. The only thing missing is that the guest can book independently via the homepage.  

Does anyone else experience a variance between the totals that these two reports deliver for the same dates “Managers report vs Reservations report Group by SEGMENT” 

Hi all, We used an availability block for a wedding so guests could book their own rooms for blocked dates and a specific rate.We see that by using the Availability Block - those reservations are now considered to be part of a single GROUP; while in fact they are all separate reservations. How can we make all of those reservations Independant reservations?  Removing them from the group.

We are using the Mews-Booking.com integration from the marketplace.  The Mews support told me, that age-based breakfast prices are supported by their integration. I know how to set up everything in Mews, but I am not sure on how to do in in the Booking.com Extranet.The Booking.com support was unfortunately not very helpful so far.  Is there anyone here who has successfully set up age-based breakfasts between Booking.com and Mews? What is your setup in Booking.com and does it map and display (children) breakfast prices correctly in Mews? 

Hoping someone has a solution to automate the below.All of our reservations that drop in from our channel manager (automatically segmented as OTA) require manual amendments to correct the segment i.e Brand.com, GDS, B.com, EXPDoes anyone have any tips to automate this change?ThanksDarren

Hello Mews team,I wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion on how to better classify media stays. For example, we had an influencer stay with us, and all expenses were comped. I created a product to zero out all her charges. Would this be the best way to track these types of reservations and show at the end of the year how much has been spent on marketing?I appreciate your help and collaboration on how to improve this system, for a freshman at Mews University!

hi GuysWe had a very large block over the past 5 weeks with over 3250 room nights and when checking out the final invoice I got a message it contained more than 3000 items and could not be closed. I should now split the invoice in 3 parts to send it according to the message I got, but this is not an option and I need 1 invoicehow can this be solved?

Hello Mewsers I’ve spotted an interresting comment from @Joanna.Svehlova on an other thread NB: This comment is actually marked as the best answer for this topic The idea was to deactivate the automatic change of status (from Inspected to dirty) after 7 days (legionella cleaning) like it is done for the rooms. Indeed some spaces part of some services like parking spots, extra bed (done in the nick of time when needed), meeting room or restaurants are not supposed to be cleaned like a room should per say, right? Is it still possible, like apparently it once was, to contact the support and have it fixed the way it should (the way we want 😉) ? Meaning leave the status for those particular spaces on “Insepcted” permanently of course Thanks in advance to you all for your reply, feedback and inputs Regards Stephane

Hi - We are not using the housekeeping functionality - and it is a bit of extra time each day to mark each room as inspected.  Is there a way to turn off the changing status?  So that we are always in the green - unless we mark the room as “out of service” or “house use” ?Thanks !

Hi everybody,please note, that Mews uses an old Booking.com API that apparently leads to a validation warning. One of my customers got overbooked which is why we checked the Channel Manager Queue. According to a reply message from Booking Mews uses a deprecated API version, see below. Not yet fully sure, the overbooking happened due to the old API usage, however, I want to raise awareness here so you check your Booking.com reservations or high demand dates for overbookings. There might be other reasons for the overbooking. Dear All,When receiving bookings made though the OTA Expedia, we see that there are 2 different types of bookings:Hotel Collect : meaning the clients pay on-site and commission invoice gets sent at the end of the month for checking. Rate of the reservation is therefore GROSS, commission is included in it. Virtual Card : meaning the clients have paid at booking and expedia has already received their commission directly, no invoice is sent. Rate of the reservation is therefore NET, commission has been deducted from a higher rate and arrives to you excluded.Consequently, the decision of booking with Virtual Card makes a difference in on average daily rate.We are seeking for the best way to see the gross amount on our account reports so that our ADR is correct.One idea would be to increase the rate of the Expedia Virtual Card by calculing what the gross amount is by using the relative adjustment and settling the invoice with 2 means of payment:payment by selecting “commission” for the amou

 Hi there i have multiple questions and issues at our property A Hotels City. We have a kiosk from Mews so guests can check in and make room keys themselves. Here comes the issues; Expedia Collect bookings:Issue; We've set up routing rules for Expedia collect bookings but many of the bookings we get doesn't get moved automatically to the travel agency which then asks the guest for a payment while checking in from the kiosk. Q.; Why do some get moved and some doesn't? Preauthorisation;Issue;At our property, we take a preauthorisation of 500DKK before check in for each reservation. We've set up scheduled payments so that the preauthorisation is made at check in time (2pm). This rule only works if the guest have entered a valid card and not all of our guests put in their card info while making the reservation. But while checking in from the kiosk, the guest can get their room keys even without a preauthorisation which should not be possible. Q.;Is there a way to force the guests to put in

Is it possible to change receivables invoices that have already been created?Can individual items be deleted from a receivables invoice so that the total invoice amount is reduced accordingly? Thanks!!

Hi there. We recently noticed automatically added cancellation and no-show fees on several reservations which are not supposed to have any fees at all… These fees and total amounts are being added to our revenue but this is wrongly added… If I cancel the cancellation fees or other items, then it just shows up in the guests profile as "to be refunded" and still being added to "room revenue"  Is there any way to completely delete these fees from the report hence they are amounts we're not getting... Hope it makes sense and someone has a solution 

We are working with Omniboost to get the Mews integration with Xero working. We cannot currently get the deposit transactions to be coded to a balance sheet liability code, they are currently coding to accommodation.  we have asked support several times but have not managed to get a clear answer that helps so trying here are urgently need help so our bookkeepers can have the correct info!Thank you
