Hello 👋,Our hotels use availability blocks and booking engine links primarily for groups and special events.Is there a way to specify custom terms and conditions for each block?I noticed that during the booking process there is only a link to the general terms & conditions, which in the case of blocks are likely not fully applicable.I also cannot find any option to add visible notes, special terms & conditions, etc.  

Hi all,We don’t have an MDM in place yet. Right now we manually restart all kiosk iPads once a week for updates and because they run 24/7. I’m looking to set this up properly so we can automate updates and reboots and keep the devices stable.What I’m trying to achieve Remote weekly restart (soft reset). App updates for the Mews Kiosk. IOS updates in a fixed night window. Keep the iPads locked in Single App Mode so guests can’t switch apps after the update. Questions Which MDMs are you using successfully with Mews Kiosk iPads?(Mosyle, SimpleMDM, Jamf Now/Pro, Intune, Meraki, other? Can you fully automate a weekly flow like this? Turn Single App Mode off Update the Mews Kiosk app Install ios updates if available Remote restart Turn Single App Mode on again (auto-launch kiosk)Goal is simple: fewer evening surprises, healthier devices, and no manual work. Hi, I need to overbook my property over a couple of dates. Specifically, I need to add additional inventory to a group block over sold out dates, and the system will not let me do so. How do I get around this?  

We received a request at our hotel from a guest who would like to put together a gift package for his staff members.It concerns a certain number of staff members to whom he would like to give credit for two overnight stays + breakfast + 1 dinner + welcome drink. How would you recommend setting this up?

Good morning y’all!I was wondering if it’s possible, when setting up a travel agency, to calculate the commission only on amounts excluding VAT and solely on the room prices. Afterward, I want to be able to see the commission amount on the invoice. The issue is that I’m not sure how to approach this. Is there an easy way to duplicate e-mail templates from one service to another? Or just manually updating each version is the way to go at the moment? Hint : this might be a nice upgrade (with 3 services, I have 3 templates to udpate, in 2 languages...)

Hey guys, Im back back with my anual question! At the moment, when someone checks in via the portal, their reservation does not automatically get started on the day of arrival.Our third-party communication software now allows us to use the deep link for the Mews guest portal, so I’d like to switch to using the Mews guest portal instead.I need the possibility to automatically start all reservations where guests have checked in online at their check-in time. Since everything is prepaid at our properties, this wouldn’t be an issue.Is there a solution for this? That would be great!Cheers,Hendrik

Hey guys,Is anyone else experiencing issues with the Kiosk?It felt like we were getting a new version every two days, but the current one has been out for about two weeks now—and we’re still experiencing problems with the app freezing or getting stuck at every property.This is really tough for our hosts, who have to take out the iPad and deal with that while beeig alone on shift. Is someone from the Kiosk team here who can explain why this issue hasn’t been resolved yet?Best regards,Hendrik

We try to let our “green choice” free product only to be booked for reservations with min. stay of 2 but I really cannot figure that out. How could I do this? Thanks! Christina

Hi Mews Community,We’re facing a challenge with adjusting the number of guests in a reservation and how Mews recalculates charges—specifically with city tax and accommodation rates. I’d love to hear how others handle this!Our Scenario:A guest books a single-occupancy room:Original booking: 100€ room rate + 8.25€ city tax = 108.25€ total. Later, the room rate increases to 120€ due to demand.When the guest arrives with an extra person, we update the reservation. Here’s what happens in Mews: "Keep old price" ticked: The system keeps the total at 108.25€, but recalculates the rate as 91.75€ + 2x city tax (16.50€). Problem: The room rate drops to 91.75€, which doesn’t reflect the original agreement. "Keep old price" unticked: The system recalculates the room rate to 120€ + 2x city tax (16.50€), totaling 136.50€. Problem: The guest now pays 28.25€ more—a significant jump that’s hard to justify, especially if the rate increase happened after their booking. Our Desired Outcome:Keep the ori

What is going on with the rate management? Until yesterday I could simply select a date, a window would open up, and I could override the price.Now I first have to select the date, then a window opens with the pricing details, then I have to select ‘edit’, then I have to select the date, and only then can I change the price (‘Base price (incl. tax)’*)Is this something temporary?

Hi everyone,I’ve been trying for some time to find a way to issue partial invoices in MEWS.For example: when we have a wedding at our venue, we send an invoice one month in advance for a 50% prepayment of the total amount.At the moment, I do this by sending a pro forma invoice with a note stating that it is a 50% partial invoice. Once the payment is received, I process it as an external payment and then issue the final invoice with the correct amount, so that the payment is properly recorded in the system.To me, it seems only logical that there should be an option to create a partial invoice for a specific amount.Does anyone know if this is possible in MEWS?

I am writing to you regarding a few issues we’ve recently encountered on Mews. First of all, when Mews Kiosk prompts us to enter email addresses, there are instances where, for various reasons, the email entered does not get saved under the client's profile in the "Email address" field, but instead appears in the "Internal Notes" section.This is a major issue for us, as it replaces existing client notes with the email address, permanently erasing important information. These notes often contain details about returning guests, their preferences, habits, or dislikes, that are crucial to personalizing their experience. We would like to recover these notes, as well as any other client notes that were lost and never restored due to this issue. Additionally, our Head Housekeeper informed us that some rooms were missing from the turndown service report. 

Hallo zusammen!Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich es hinbekommen kann, dass Gäste, die über unsere Website gebucht und per Paypal bezahlt haben, nicht diese Mail bekommen, dass keine Zahlkarte verknüpft ist? Kann man diese Mail ausstellen? ich finde nur, wo ich die anderen Mails deaktivieren kann, aber diese Mail ist nicht dabei.Ich bekomme immer wieder Anrufe von Gästen, die fragen, warum sie trotz Paypal-Zahlung eine Kreditkarte angeben sollen. Viele haben Bedenken, dass ihre Buchung jetzt nicht akzeptiert wird.Leider wird die Paypal-Zahlung in Mews ja auch nicht als Zahlung direkt mitverbucht, wie das bei der Kreditkarte der Fall ist. Ich hoffe, das kommt noch in nächster Zeit.Wie geht ihr damit um? Gibt es einen “Workaround”?Viele GrüßeHeike

Mews  rolled back an earier update in regards to rate update. (For a few days we were able to enjoy a hassle free rate management tool again). Well, now they are back with the same, click all the way, time sonsuming rate updates. Again, instead of being able to simply click on a date and right away overwrite the rate, press enter, save and automatically jump on the next date and repeat the prosess, they introduce a clicking nightmare. Just listen to what the crowed is asking and don’t fix what does not need fixing. you are making everyones life hearder.  

Hallo zusammen, arbeite jemand von euch mit Run of House? Ist das in Mews umsetzbar, z.B. wenn man eine eigene Zimmerkategorie dafür anlegt? oder gibt es die Möglichkeit die Zimmerzuteilungsregeln ausser Kraft zu setzen? Danke für eure Anregungen und Impulse.

Grias Eich, bei uns läuft das Registrierkassenzertifikat bald ab. Jetzt versuche ich herauszufinden, was zu tun ist, um es zu erneuern. Das Zertifikat ist von A-trust - das kann ich auch im Marketplace sehen, allerdings wurde mir bei A-trust gesagt, dass es nur über den Hersteller der onlinekassa geht. Ich kann aber nichts darüber finden, wer dies ist.  Da mews mich ständig darauf hinweist, dass das Zertifikat bald abläuft können die es ja nicht sein. Hat jemand eine Idee? For example: Night 1 → only 1 pax From Night 2 onwards → a second person joins The room rate stays the same, but: Breakfast is linked to the number of guests. This means that either one breakfast is “too many” for the first night, or one breakfast is missing for the second night. Of course, we can manually add breakfast items on the invoice in advance, but then: The posting date is incorrect The product is not reflected in the breakfast report The pax count for the second night still shows only 1 Creating a second reservation is also an option, but then FO and HSK would both need tasks set for “stayover” handling.👉 Question: Is / will there be a function to define the number of guests per day within one reservation? (The help.mews.com docu is not helpful about this)So, when I change an existing service product (not additional service) in settings, will that affect instances of the same product that have been added to reservations/bills in the past (for future reservations)?
