We have some bookings under dedicated rate codes where we need to stay alert and take action when a reservation comes through those channels.
Question: Does anyone know if it’s possible to set up a rate code so that a Task is automatically generated when a booking is created?
Someone mentioned adding a “phony” bookable item that’s linked to a task — Linked to the ratecode that way, a task would be created for us to act on.
Does anyone know if that works and how? Many thanks! 🌼

I know of two possibilities:
- Mews only:
Create an additional service, f.e. “Notifications”
In the additional service, tick the option “Order creates an email” or “Order creates a notification”
Create a product with price 0.- in this service
Add the product with a product rule to the rate where you need to be notified
=> will create a notification in Mews (or an email), NOT a task, to the responsible employee set in the service configuration
- External automation:
Using Zapier or make.com, listen to new reservations, filter them and create a task in Mews
We can help with option 2 as a payable service.
