We are new to MEWS. To the users that have experience with MEWS and ID Scanning, which ID scanner do you you recommend for MEWS at front desk running windows PC? For example Logitech webcam, any specific ID scanners, etc. Please suggest some options. Thank you in advance.

Hi @Jigawho ,

we used the adria scan system with professional scanners but after a while we noticed that the ID scan function on the ipad during check in is totally fine.

So we decided to get rid of adria scan and use just the ipads. Functionality is not better or worse then adria scan but is included and no extra cost.

We also use iPads and in that way the guest can check in themself at the reception desk and we make sure that the guests sign the registering card online and we have get rid of the papers.

They have always worked the best for us. and the guests really likes them.

Hello,

We use 365ID scanners. This means that all copies are stored on their servers, and they ensure full GDPR compliance.

This integrates with MEWS? How much does it cost per year for the service?

Yes, it integrates with Mews, but we have opted to only write guest data to the profile and not store the photo copy in Mews. The photo copy can be provided upon request. I am not 100% sure about the price, but I believe it is around €250-300 annually.

I was using 365id and AdriaScan in the past.

I like 365ids cloud approach much more. But at least 1 year ago, with 365id you first needed to create a profile in the reservation.

With AdriaScan, you can simply add guests to a reservation via the scanner which is much(!!!) quicker.

Probably talk to 365id and ask them if they have changed it.
