Mews POS & Restaurant Operations

Good afternoon,We are in the process of familiarizing ourselves with hotel inventory management and would appreciate your advice on setting up the most effective structure within the POS system.Our inventory includes a mix of sellable items and internal-use (purchasable) items. We would like guidance on the best way to categorize and manage these in the system. For example, should inventory be structured by department such as hotel/office supplies, spa inventory, housekeeping inventory, etc.?Currently, we operate separate warehouses for kitchen, beverage, spa, and housekeeping. We would like to confirm whether this setup is sufficient within the POS or if there are any additional configurations, categorizations, or best practices we should consider to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and control.We would appreciate any recommendations on optimal inventory structure and any additional steps that may be required.Thank you in adva

Hello everyone,We frequently encounter the following issue:Guests request that a restaurant receipt from MEWS POS (or other integrations) be split across different rooms/guest profiles upon departure. However, duplicate items from POS receipts are combined into a single item in the billing window. For example, grape juice: These three grape juices cannot be split across separate invoices after the fact; they constitute a single item and can therefore only be paid on one invoice. Of course, one could manually calculate the amounts and allocate them to different payment methods. But perhaps someone here is familiar with this issue and even has a solution for booking the items individually?After all, with products from bookable services, everything is ultimately booked as individual, divisible items. Hallo zusammen,wie geht Ihr mit der Mehrwertsteueränderung in “Mews POS” um? Konkret geht es mir um das Frühstück. Das POS scheint sich ja nicht automatisch mit dem PMS zu synchronisieren und selbst kann man wohl auch keine Synchro anstoßen. Müssen die beiden Splitting-Produkte dann zusätzlich händisch dort hinterlegt werden? Dann erfolgt aber keine Zuordnung zu den richtigen Kostenstellen etc. Auch ist die Frage, ob man Speisen- und Getränkeanteil zu einem Produkt kombinieren kann, damit man im S2 nicht immer zwei Produkte anwählen muss. Dear MEWS Community,We are facing a significant challenge regarding the integration of our Point of Sale (MEWS POS) and accounting system (SAGE 200), specifically impacting tax compliance for Spain's Immediate Supply of Information (SII) mandate.While our "on credit" tickets flow correctly through the PMS (MEWS) to the Tax Agency, our "Outlet" (direct sales) tickets are not being automatically communicated to the SII, nor is their associated VAT being correctly included in the Omniboost CSV file for SAGE 200.This forces us into a time-consuming, manual process to comply with tax requirements. As MEWS/Omniboost currently cannot provide a solution, we are reaching out to the community for workarounds or alternative integrations to automate the reporting of "Outlet" sales and their VAT to the Spanish Tax Agency.If anyone requires more detail

Can anybody give me a real answer when MEWS POS will be available in Malta?We are in love with the PMS and want to complete our experience with the POS. I am super eager to find out when the POS will be available and what the hold up is on getting it available in Maltese hotels?

Hallo zusammen,wir nutzen nun gut seit einer Woche Mews POS und jeder Kellner arbeitet in sein eigenes Portemonnaie. Muss dann hierfür für jeden Kellner eine eigene Kasse eingerichtet werden? Wir hatten neulich das Problem, dass auf dem Bericht “Verkäufe” in der Administration ein anderes Trinkgeld für einen Benutzer/Kellner ausgewiesen wurde, als der Benutzer/Kellner auf seiner Kellnerabrechnung hatte. Bei allen anderen Benutzern/Kellnern hat es jedoch gestimmt, sodass irgendwo Trinkgeld “verloren” gegangen ist. Gibt es hierzu Erfahrungen? Wie handhabt Ihr es in euren Betrieben? Eine allgemeine Kasse oder jeder Benutzer/Kellner ein eigenes Portemonnaie? Vielen Dank vorab

Hallo, wir sind komplett neu von Hs3 gewechselt..Ich musste eine Gastauslage buchen und einmal Trinkgeld.Doch leider zieht sich der Betrag nicht automatisch in der Mews-Kasse ab.Gibt es dazu eine Lösung oder eine Einstellung?Es ist schwierig.. alles zusätzlich noch wieder Manuel zubuchen, damit der Kassenstand stimmt.vielen Dank für eure Hilfe

As the header reads. We make notes on the guest invoice in the restaurant but the notes don’t show on the final bill. Usually the notes are ref.numbers or group names. Essesntial for the billing department and also the customer. Help, please.

Hallo zusammen,bei uns gibt es die Option rechts über den Kategorien “ Vor Ort Essen” und “Zum Mitnehmen” - gerne würde ich “Zum Mitnehmen” löschen. Man kann da automatisch eine Anpassung der MWST hinterlegen, da wir aber nichts haben, was man mitnehmen kann, würde ich das gerne deaktivieren. Ich weiß allerdings nicht wie. Hallo zusammen,wir nutzen seit Montag BIZZON für unser Restaurant. Allerdings stellte sich uns gestern die Frage wie das mit dem Trinkgeld funktioniert, welches per Karte gezahlt wird. Bei unserer vorherigen Kasse war es immer so, dass das Trinkgeld der Karten vom Barumsatz direkt abgezogen wurde und wir den Betrag somit direkt an die Mitarbeiter abgeben konnten. Bei BIZZON scheint das Trinkgeld aber so nicht auf, also im Barumsatz sondern separat. Mich würde nun interessieren wie ihr das handhabt, damit dieses Kartentrinkgeld auch ausgezahlt werden kann. Danke euch! Viele Grüße,Paul

Hallo zusammen,wir haben Ende Februar MEWS für unser Hotel und BIZZON im Restaurant eingerichtet.Es ist seither öfter das Problem, dass an einer Verkaufsstelle die Kassenschicht mitten im Service sagt, sie ist abgelaufen und es muss eine neue geöffnet werden. Das Problem ist, dass sich dann keine neue Kassenschicht öffnen kann und man mit der Verkaufsstelle nicht mehr abrechnen kann. Das Datum, wann die Kasse das letzte mal geöffnet wurde, steht dann aber plötzlich auf dem 29.02., als wir unsere Kasse eingerichtet haben.Der Tipp vom Support war, jeden Abend die Kasse zu schließen und morgens wieder zu öffnen. Das machen wir nun schon seit einer Weile, aber das Problem taucht immer wieder auf. Weiß jemand, wo ich suchen könnte, an was das liegt? LG, Aurelia Faber
