Multicurrency by Mews Payments already helps hotels deliver transparent, guest-friendly payments for PMS transactions. We’re now extending that same seamless experience to food and beverage.
The feature gives international guests the option of paying in their home currency at your hotel, rather than paying in the local currency. Guests value Multicurrency because it takes away the stress of transacting in an unfamiliar currency, while hotels love it as they retain part of conversion fees that are normally kept by banks.
It’s a simple way to boost your bottom line as it turns every cross-border payment into a new revenue opportunity... and we’re excited to share that the feature is now available for POS via Mews S1 and S2 terminals.
How it works
When an international guest pays on an S1 or S2 terminal, the price is displayed in their home currency using real-time exchange rates, giving them the choice to use the feature. Mews makes the conversion at the point of transaction, ensuring full transparency and a smooth experience.

Not using Mews Payments yet?
If you’re using Mews POS but not Mews Payments, then you could be leaving money on the table. Every international guest card payment at your bar or restaurant is a revenue opportunity, speak to your CSM today to ensure that you’re not missing out.
Multicurrency for POS is available in all regions where Mews POS operates except for Luxembourg, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
