New beta: Increase revenue with upgrades in Online Check-in

Are you looking for ways to increase revenue? Do you find yourself with available capacity for higher priced rooms? We’re excited to share this opportunity to join the Beta for our new upgrade capability in Online Check-in. Guests can now be offered available higher priced spaces when completing their online check-in to help boost your revenues and make their stay a little more special. How does it work?During Online Check In, Mews will check if there are any spaces in a higher category available. If so, the guest will be offered the upgrade and will be charged the new category price minus the price already booked.Mews will only offer an upgrade to single reservations - groups are not supported. Mews will not offer an upgrade if there is a restriction in place or there is no availability. Mews will not offer an upgrade if the higher category is cheaper than the price already paid.You'll be able to set individual space categories where you would not like a guest to upgrade to. Tasks created by products

Hi, I am new to Mews and I am looking for a way to automatically create a task when a product is added to a reservation, so the housekeeping team can see the task in their app (let’s say we add breakfast to the room and the team should see that they need to bring the breakfast to the room). I was told to use Zapier but it seems there is no option to trigger an action when adding a product? Any ideas or experiences what would work best? Thank you for any input :)

Changing address + Reinstating after closing an invoice/closed bill

Hello Mews Community!Hope you are doing great 😁At the moment we are working on enabling you to change the address on an invoice/closed bill. We know that at the moment it is a difficult procedure, including working with the rebate functionality. Currently, we are looking to fully automate this for you, so that a front desk agent solely needs to worry about the correct address, and not the accounting mystery that goes behind it. We have already spoken to accountants in various legal environments to make sure that the proposal is compliant with legal entities such as Germany, Italy, etc. So no worries, we will not exclude anyone to use this eventually 🤗We are not yet ready to start the beta program (YET - I will update this conversation once we are!), but I would love to speak to a couple of front desk agents/front office supervisors to show our plans, and make sure that what we would like to propose makes their lives as easy as possible. Please feel free to leave a comment if you are/

Granular cancellation policies

Hi all,Hope you are doing excellent! Not yet in beta, but rather I am trying to understand more about what your exact needs are with regards to cancellation policies. 🔮We are currently looking into giving our cancellation policies an upgrade, meaning: Being able to set cancellation policies on rate groups and rates in order to gain highest return on cancellations possible. Meaning, on high-pickup dates, a higher cancellation policy is to be charged to the guest. What we are thinking of is to add the flexibility to specify cancelation policies on both rate group and rate level. Additionally, to give the ability to specify cancellation policy on specific time periods.Does this sounds like something you would use? Cela permet aux clients de s'enregistrer en ligne par SMS.💡 Les réservations des OTA, comme Booking.com et Expedia par exemple, arrivent avec une adresse e-mail cryptée qui rend l'enregistrement en ligne difficile, bien que Mews puisse recevoir le numéro de téléphone. Avec un SMS, vous pouvez vous assurer que même ces clients peuvent facilement s'enregistrer en ligne.Au sein de l'équipe Customer Success, nous constatons que de nombreux hôtels ne sont pas encore familiarisés avec cette nouvelle fonctionnalité et ses possibilités. New Beta: New Global Search

Based on our Mewsers’ feedback, our engineers have been working on a new search experience that’s aimed at making your life a lot easier.With a new and improved interface, the new search allows you to quickly identify which one of the results is what you are looking for, as well as search for reservations by companion names, partial matches and a more intelligent sorting of results by those who have been or will be at the hotel closest to today.  How does it work?Just like today - but better! The search bar is slightly larger and the interface has been improved.The new experience is expected to do everything that exists today plus: Search reservations also by companions!  Get searching quickly from anywhere via a new keyboard shortcut (Alt+F on Windows | Option+F on Mac) More information on the results, allowing you to pick the right one  Guests will show their email, reservations will show guest name and dates... so that the user is much more likely to click on the correct one! Hiermee is het mogelijk voor gasten om via een SMS online in te checken.💡Reserveringen van OTA’s, zoals bijvoorbeeld Booking.com en Expedia komen binnen met een versleuteld emailadres wat het online inchecken bemoeilijkt, wel is het zo dat Mews het telefoonnummer kan ontvangen. Met een SMS kun je er voor zorgen dat ook deze gasten eenvoudig online kunnen inchecken.  Binnen het Customer Success Team merken we dat veel hotels nog niet bekend zijn met deze nieuwe functionaliteit en de mogelijkheden hiervan. Delivery Only Rate Plan Direct Connect Channels

Hi community!  I’m not sure if this feature exists, but I’m looking to set up a delivery only rate plan for direct connect channels in MEWS. I haven’t had many issues, but when there’s a mapping issue or promotion that MEWS does not recognize on direct connect channels, reservations have come in really strange due to product rules.I have something similar created for my channel manager, the rate plan is called FIX ME and is a catch all for any reservations with room or rate code errors. This allows me and my front desk team to immediately recognize there’s something amiss with the reservation and attend to it. Anyone know how to set this up or if the feature exists?Looking forward to your advice!

Booking for Someone Else and Billing

Hi,It seems when someone using the Mews booking engine and chooses the option “I´m Booking for Someone Else”, Mews automatically invoices the “Booker” instead of the “Guest”.We do not want to invoice Bookers, but rather the Guest, regardless of who makes the booking as the Guest will be responsible for the payment. Besides manually moving the charges, is there any way to automate this?Alternatively, can we simply remove the “I’m booking for someone else” field from the booking engine?
