Mews PMS & Property Operations

Good afternoon everyone,I just noticed that the new MEWS features (Ledger Beta, new timeline, etc.) are only activated in our demo environment and not in the live version. Is there a way for us to enable these features ourselves, or do I need to submit another support ticket? Hi everyone,I need help setting up specific payment policies for a rate group. Specifically, I want to prevent the automatic charging of city tax before check-in. Instead, only the nights and other products should be charged at that time.I noticed that this can be configured in "Additional Expenses." However, I am unsure how to define city tax as "additionnal expenses" or “products” within this setup. Currently, in our configuration, city tax is treated as a product rather than using the standard bookable service configuration.Could you clarify how city tax is categorized (product vs. additional expense) and guide me on how to achieve this setup?Thank you for your support.Best regards,Châu.  

Hallo!Die Buchungsbestätigung aus Mews geht ja auch an Gäste raus, die über Expedia gebucht haben. Wenn der Gast über Expedia Collect bezahlt dürfen wir keine Rechnung aushändigen und wir dürfen an sich auch nicht den Preis nennen, den wir bekommen. Der ist ja schon bereinigt um die Kommission. Wenn aber aus Mews die Buchungsbestätigung verschickt wird ist sowohl die Rate als auch der Preis genannt.Wenn ich den Preis aus der Buchungsbestätigung entferne, bekommt ihn aber auch kein anderer Gast zu sehen.Besteht die Möglichkeit, eine eigene Buchungsbestätigung an Expedia-Gäste zu verschicken? Oder kann man einen Filter anlegen, dass wenn die E-Mail-Adresse des Gastes @m.expediapartnercentral.com lautet, diese keine Bestätigung bekommen?Wie handhabt ihr das?Vielen Dank für eure Hilfe.Heike

Hi All,What is your experience with the new ‘Enhanced’ rate management overview?In my opinion it’s a big mess now, missing structure to have clear overview of your rates, base rates, rate groups, …..Search & filter options are nice but they are not stored, so every time you click on a rate and return to the overview they are gone again…Same for sorting options...I have the idea it’s released without it was even finished!Happy to read other hoteliers experiences on this.Best,Dirkhttps://releases.mews.com/en/enhanced-rates-and-vouchers-tables-in-mews-operations

Hello everyone,At our hotel, we require more than 60% confirmations that include either adding cost centers or removing the room rate. However, we’ve noticed that Mews does not currently allow these changes to be made directly within the confirmation emails.We’re wondering if there’s any way to fix this limitation within Mews? Alternatively, are there any external tools or integrations available that can provide adjustable confirmation emails?Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance.

Dear all,We are currently in Peak Season, and the hotel is fully booked on certain dates. However, we have noticed an issue where, despite some room categories being overbooked, the hotel remains open for new reservations. This situation should ideally not occur, or there should be an alert indicating that the hotel is fully booked, requiring validation for any overbooking.For example:The hotel has 15 rooms in total, divided into 3 categories (Classic, Superior, and Sea View, with 5 rooms each). For the night of December 31st, the hotel is FULL (15 rooms sold), but there is an overbooking of 1 room in the Classic category, while 1 room remains available in the Sea View category. We will need to upgrade the overbooked Classic room to the Sea View category, but this adjustment has not been made yet.If the staff does not notice this situation, they could inadvertently accept a new reservation in the Sea View cate

How to add hourly pool cabana rentals 

Hello,For each service that is not handled by us directly, ex transfer, ski pass...etc we are adding a handling fee 5% of the total of a certain service this is applicable to.My question is how to set up this in mews so that once handling fee is to be added into the bill to automatically calculates 5% of the price of the product refers to vs how we do now, calculate manually and then place it on the guests bill. Hi all,First post here. I'm running tech support for a small rental apartment website that will integrate MEWS into it's pages.So not really up to speed with the whole MEWS system/backend tbh.Our website is multi language (NL/EN/DE), and will have a button to switch to the MEWS landing page for date searches, booking etc.What I would like to set up is that every language version of the website will open up the corresponding language version of the MEWS landing page.So the button on the Dutch website will open the Dutch version of the MEWS page, the English website the English landing page etc.The MEWS backend has all languages set up, and this all works in the frontend. So that part is fully set up and finalized.Any tips on how can I set this up in a weblink on a button, so I can ‘direct’ the landing page to a preferred language.Thanks for all replies,Rob WuPakasa - LeidenHolland

Hi there!For a bookable service for space like parking or bike, or similar a guest /adult count doesn’t make sense. Is it possible to disable the adult count field in the booking engine for that bookable service somehow?I checked  help and asked the bot, and searched feedback, but could find anything in that regard.So I figured either I am missing something obvious, or it’s really not there …?Best regards,JP.

Will the booking engine for hourly bookable services just show up whenever it is enabled? I am anxiously  waiting for this feature, but I’m not sure when I can start to set this up properly. 

Hi, I can see how to reorder space categories but is it possible to reorder the actual spaces?We use room names rather than types and would prefer if we could have specific rooms/spaces to be booked first so ordered first, but it does not seem possibe in the space set up to order them?

Hi,I’ve noticed that the search functionality has improved significantly compared to the simple search we had before – well done!However, one thing is still a bit frustrating for me: why is it not possible to search for a booker and see all the reservations associated with this person in their role as the booker?Typically, the booker is the main point of contact for us, especially when it comes to group reservations, so it would be really helpful to access that information easily.Looking forward to your insights!Best,Ed

Dear CommunityWe used to be able to see all the rooms of the “group” (if a reservation belonged to one) lighted up when clicked on one in the timeline. This was easy for room allocation, to make sure reservations of two or three rooms were not placed on opposite sides of the hotel. I noticed today that this feature is no longer working. I preferred it when it was still possible to see the entire group, this made my work a lot easier. Now I have to manually go to each reservation to make sure I’m not missing something. Any one else having trouble with this?

Hi everyone,We’re currently in the process of migrating to Mews, and one of the key areas we’re re-evaluating is our rate structure. In our previous system, we had an overwhelming 200+ rates! These rates were primarily created to gain segment insights and were set up for nearly everything—corporate contracts, GDS bookings, OTA channels, direct bookings, and more. While this worked for us in the past, it led to a lot of complexity in managing, maintaining, and analyzing our rate setup.As we transition to Mews, I’m keen on finding ways to streamline and simplify this approach. For instance:Corporate Rates: I don’t see the need to set up an individual rate for every single corporate negotiated contract anymore. There must be a more efficient way to manage this while still maintaining clarity in reporting and segmentation. Channel Rates: Similarly, creating rates for each channel (OTA, direct, etc.) feels unnecessary,

Hi,I'm looking for clarification on housekeeping intervals for long-stay bookings. Our goal is to clean each room every 7 days, but we want to control the specific day of the week when this cleaning occurs.I assumed that marking a room as "clean" would reset the 7-day interval each time. However, it seems the interval is only tied to the "system" status change date. For example, one room was marked "dirty" on November 5, and we cleaned it on November 8. Ideally, the 7-day interval would start from the most recent clean date (November 8), resetting the next cleaning date to November 15. But in this case, the interval reset on November 12, which is 7 days after the system’s initial "dirty" mark on November 5.Is there a way to adjust settings so the 7-day interval starts from the last manual cleaning date rather than the system date? 

Good morning, we would like the credit card to be needed in order to make a reservation through our Mews booking engine. Credit card either as a guarantee (standard rate) or charged (if non refundable rate) Ìs there an option ? thanks 

Hey,We recently reviewed our data regarding the booking engine and noticed that the conversion rate is really low when users come via Metasearch.For us, this has a lot to do with the information about the hotel that guests receive from the booking engine.Currently, users are redirected straight to the "select category" section, which is generally great, but it can be overwhelming for guests as no other information about the hotel is provided. I think to improve the conversion rate, it would be great to rebuild this section of the booking engine and include the possibility to add more general information.Is there something we might already be missing? What’s your take on this? Would be good to have some feedback. Best Hendrik
