Mews PMS & Property Operations

Hello everyone,we've noticed that when creating a reservation, on the “Details” page, the confirmation mode defaults to “Do not send”. By changing the reservation status (to Requested or Optional) or even back to Confirmed, the confirmation mode automatically changes from “Do not send” to “Send”. This can be a source of error if the person making the reservation doesn't notice it. I think it would be preferable for the confirmation mode to default to “Do not send”, and for the person making the reservation to change it manually if necessary. what do you think? 

Hello everyone,we have encountered a small problem with customers who received booking confirmations and quotes (with rates) when they were travel agency bookings. customers were able to confirm and cancel these bookings directly from Mews Guest Portal. While it is clearly stated in the configuration of e-mail sending parameters, in the first remark: “Mews does not send e-mails to the recipient's address if it is not that of the company or travel agency associated with the booking.”but it seems that this rule is not applied. can you explain?

Hi I tried searching for similar questions, but couldn’t find anything. The team here got curious about how we can check for past guests in specific rooms. We were wondering e.g. who was in room 202 yesterday, in the case that their reservation was moved to another room or cancelled. I suppose that is shown on the guest’s action log, but the rooms don’t seem to have a similar action log where that is accessible. There is a ‘Recent space changes’ option, but that doesn’t show past guests. In our case, we don’t know who was the guest that was in 202 - that’s what we’re trying to find out. Any suggestions? How to Configure Additional Person Charges Based on Room Category.We have room categories where the cost for an additional person is not the same depending on the category (e.g., Suite, Classic).

When we started with Mews we uploaded the import file with the already existing company profiles from our old PMS, and it contained a whole bunch of double data so I’m trying to merge the company profiles. Unfortunately I often have the case that one profile has the address, the other doesn’t, and when I want to merge both profiles I don’t see the address information, so I am never really sure which one to keep and which one not, but merging them does not mean the address will be updated and it happens that when I pick the wrong one, the address is just gone. Does anyone have any tips to handle this as uncomplicated as possible? :) 

Ich habe gerade versucht, im Gruppenreiter eine Zimmerliste mit den Teilnehmern und den E-Mail-Adressen hochzuladen. In der Liste war nun ein Teilnehmer, der bereits einmal zu Gast war und für den bereits ein Konto existiert - das wusste aber vorab niemand, so dass wir den bereits existierenden Gast nicht vor herunterladen der Blanko-Liste die wir an den Bucher geschickt haben noch nicht vorher eingetragen hatten, also war er auf der Blanko-liste auch noch nicht mit seinem bereits existierenden Konto.  Jetzt habe ich von Mews die Fehlermeldung erhalten, dass bereits ein Konto mit der E-Mail-Adresse existiert und musste bei 30 Teilnehmern erst einmal heraussuchen, wer denn bereits im System vorhanden ist.  Hat jemand einen praktikablen Trick, wie man so etwas umgeht? Ich weiß, wäre der Gast bereits eingetragen gewesen, hätte Mews bei der Liste auch diekt die Kundenkennung eingetragen, aber wenn wir den Firmen die Liste blanko schicken und sie vorab noch ni

Greetings to all, We have situation in which a parking as bookable service has been added to guests bill and now it needs to be canceled or better yet to be removed. However since guest has checked out, nothing can be done with it. There is no option to -remove and item- , so how to make this outstanding bill to 0 and to close it? Thank you for all your tips and advices. BestBojana

Good morning ya’all!I was wondering if it's possible to change room prices for past dates? Sometimes we have larger groups with negotiated rates, but when some guests (within this group) decide to extend their stay by one more day, Mews applies the rack rate instead of the agreed ‘group rate’.If I don’t notice this right away, I can no longer make adjustments for past dates (only for the current day). Hallo Zusammen,auf den Rechnungen wird bei uns, sobald ein Gast Übernachtung und Frühstück gebucht hat, wird die Übernachtung in der Rechnung immer als ‘Unterkunft Paket’ bezeichnet.Manche Firmen möchten dies nur rein als Übernachtung oder Logis ausgewiesen haben ohne das Wort ‘Paket’. In solchen Fallen stornieren wir alles und buchen es manuell im Abrechnungsfenster nochmal auf dann wird es nicht als Unterkunftspaket angezeigt.Das ist natürlich bei größeren Rechnungen sehr aufwendig. Hat jemand zufällig eine andere Lösung? LGNina

Hallo!Ich möchte gestaffelte Stornobedingungen einstellen. Ähnlich, wie es bei den Zahlungen läuft, dass man z.B. x% bei Buchung, y % bis … Tage vor Anreise und dann z% bis … Tage vor Anreise.Gedacht habe ich mir, dass als Stornokosten z.B. 20 % bis 60 Tage vor Anreise, 40 % bis 30 Tage vor Anreise, 60 % bis 7 Tage vor Anreise und danach 80 % anfallen. Nur so als Beispiel.Wie kann ich das umsetzen? Ich kann nur eine Stornobedingung anlegen und der Rate zuweisen. Damit ist die Staffelung nicht möglich.Wie regelt ihr das und gibt es “Workarounds”?Vielen Dank und viele GrüßeHeike

Traditionally, rates are considered commissionable / non-commissionable. It looks like Mews considers whether a travel agent is commissionable?I don’t understand how to manage this. I found the setting to enable the channel manager to create company profile/travel agent contracts. However in practice, I don’t understand what to do with this. I’m finding this incredibly confusing and complicated. How can I ensure commission is being calculated for commissionable rates, and that they are being paid on time?  

Hello,since this afternoon profiles are suddenly displayed with the name of the companion although we have not changed anything. Or vice versa, where profiles of the companion suddenly have the name of the main booker. We have several identical profiles with the same name that are not actually profiles. Does anyone else have this problem?Is this maybe because of the new funktion with matching simmilar profils? Kind regards Anna

Is there a way for us to enable these features ourselves, or do I need to submit another support ticket? Hi everyone,I need help setting up specific payment policies for a rate group. Specifically, I want to prevent the automatic charging of city tax before check-in. Instead, only the nights and other products should be charged at that time.I noticed that this can be configured in "Additional Expenses." However, I am unsure how to define city tax as "additionnal expenses" or “products” within this setup. Currently, in our configuration, city tax is treated as a product rather than using the standard bookable service configuration.Could you clarify how city tax is categorized (product vs. additional expense) and guide me on how to achieve this setup?Thank you for your support.Best regards,Châu.  

Hallo!Die Buchungsbestätigung aus Mews geht ja auch an Gäste raus, die über Expedia gebucht haben. Wenn der Gast über Expedia Collect bezahlt dürfen wir keine Rechnung aushändigen und wir dürfen an sich auch nicht den Preis nennen, den wir bekommen. Der ist ja schon bereinigt um die Kommission. Wenn aber aus Mews die Buchungsbestätigung verschickt wird ist sowohl die Rate als auch der Preis genannt.Wenn ich den Preis aus der Buchungsbestätigung entferne, bekommt ihn aber auch kein anderer Gast zu sehen.Besteht die Möglichkeit, eine eigene Buchungsbestätigung an Expedia-Gäste zu verschicken? Oder kann man einen Filter anlegen, dass wenn die E-Mail-Adresse des Gastes @m.expediapartnercentral.com lautet, diese keine Bestätigung bekommen?Wie handhabt ihr das?Vielen Dank für eure Hilfe.Heike

Hi All,What is your experience with the new ‘Enhanced’ rate management overview?In my opinion it’s a big mess now, missing structure to have clear overview of your rates, base rates, rate groups, …..Search & filter options are nice but they are not stored, so every time you click on a rate and return to the overview they are gone again…Same for sorting options...I have the idea it’s released without it was even finished!Happy to read other hoteliers experiences on this.Best,Dirkhttps://releases.mews.com/en/enhanced-rates-and-vouchers-tables-in-mews-operations

Hello everyone,At our hotel, we require more than 60% confirmations that include either adding cost centers or removing the room rate. However, we’ve noticed that Mews does not currently allow these changes to be made directly within the confirmation emails.We’re wondering if there’s any way to fix this limitation within Mews? Alternatively, are there any external tools or integrations available that can provide adjustable confirmation emails?Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance.

Dear all,We are currently in Peak Season, and the hotel is fully booked on certain dates. However, we have noticed an issue where, despite some room categories being overbooked, the hotel remains open for new reservations. This situation should ideally not occur, or there should be an alert indicating that the hotel is fully booked, requiring validation for any overbooking.For example:The hotel has 15 rooms in total, divided into 3 categories (Classic, Superior, and Sea View, with 5 rooms each). For the night of December 31st, the hotel is FULL (15 rooms sold), but there is an overbooking of 1 room in the Classic category, while 1 room remains available in the Sea View category. We will need to upgrade the overbooked Classic room to the Sea View category, but this adjustment has not been made yet.If the staff does not notice this situation, they could inadvertently accept a new reservation in the Sea View cate

How to add hourly pool cabana rentals 

Hello,For each service that is not handled by us directly, ex transfer, ski pass...etc we are adding a handling fee 5% of the total of a certain service this is applicable to.My question is how to set up this in mews so that once handling fee is to be added into the bill to automatically calculates 5% of the price of the product refers to vs how we do now, calculate manually and then place it on the guests bill. Hi all,First post here. I'm running tech support for a small rental apartment website that will integrate MEWS into it's pages.So not really up to speed with the whole MEWS system/backend tbh.Our website is multi language (NL/EN/DE), and will have a button to switch to the MEWS landing page for date searches, booking etc.What I would like to set up is that every language version of the website will open up the corresponding language version of the MEWS landing page.So the button on the Dutch website will open the Dutch version of the MEWS page, the English website the English landing page etc.The MEWS backend has all languages set up, and this all works in the frontend. So that part is fully set up and finalized.Any tips on how can I set this up in a weblink on a button, so I can ‘direct’ the landing page to a preferred language.Thanks for all replies,Rob WuPakasa - LeidenHolland
