Is there any easy and quick way to see how often a guest has stayed?

Dear Mewsers,We have been experiencing an ongoing issue with pre-authorizations not being released promptly after guest departures. Typically, the pre-authorization is cancelled on the following day, but we have been receiving frequent complaints from our guests stating that the pre-authorization remains blocked on their cards even after three weeks from their departure. We would like to understand if other hotels are also facing similar challenges with pre-authorizations not being released in a timely manner. It seems that the bank card companies are holding onto the funds even after we have released the pre-authorization. Is it legal for the bank card companies to retain the funds for such an extended period, even after the hotel has released the pre-authorization?Any insights, suggestions, or advice on how we can address this issue would be greatly appreciated. We strive to provide excellent service to our guests, and this delay in releasing pre-authorization

Hi MEWS Community! My hotel is in Indonesia, we are applying service charge and VAT. In MEWS we have to create service charge as a product hence rate+service charge will be sent to CRS (we are using SynXis/Sabre). We want to be able to send naked rate without service charge to CRS, and service charge to be displayed same as VAT. Anyone has similar situation and what is your setup in MEWS? Hello Community! I am having a hard time understanding the difference between optional and inquired reservations. If a potential guest decides to book an inquiry, how do I know that it has been booked? Should I send optional quotes instead? Should I follow up with guests I have sent an inquiry quote too? If guest confirm optional quotes, how do they show up in the reporting? Please Help! Thank you.

Is there a way to remove a cancelled room from a group reservation?  It is getting a bit confusing with it hanging out at the bottom of the right-hand pane.  There is nothing I can see to be done with it there, and our front desk people are being overwhelmed. I’d love to even move it to another group.  Is there a way to move a single room off of a group to another?As I type this, I’m sure there must be?

We are soon upon our winter ski season when rooming list are very popular. Is there a way to add a rooming list into the availability block? 

Hello! Travel agents receive commissions based off our dynamic rates and group rates added into the block. We have built a TA contract for an agent and added the company to the group block, however, the commission does not report on the rooming list. When will TA commission show on reports? After check in, after creating the reservation, or after check out?

I have questions regarding open items: for annual financial statements we need an open items list. It has to show all outstanding customer payments not yet having been paid, even if closed after this date.If the path ‘open bill’ - ‘payment’ - ‘external payment’ is chosen, there`s no way either to give in past payment dates. It follows that the accounting ledger report shows items as unpaid as long as ‘external payment’ is done, no matter what the real payment date was.

Hi Mewsers, This is a question for properties in Belgium or the Netherlands (or pretty much every country where payment rounding is a thing). With payment rounding I mean that all payments are rounded to the nearest  5 (ie. € 7,93 becomes € 7,95 and € 13,41 becomes € 13,40).As Mews does not support payment  rounding as a feature, we have created a product for this. This to ensure that all transactions are registered correctly for accounting. However, we are wondering how other properties are coping with this legal requirement.

Hello together, we are using Event Temple to organize our convention / event spaces, proposals and function sheets/banquet checks.In Event Temple we can also add over night stays to bookings which are posted to MEWS.If it is a fixed contingent all is fine. Dear community,I am reaching out for assistance with automating the status change of online check-in reservations to "Started" on the day of arrival once the room has been inspected.Currently, we use a diffenrent  online check-in system, and we have achieved a high percentage (60-70%) of guests who are able to check-in online and have their reservation status set to "Started," allowing them to access their digital room keys and enter their rooms seamlessly. This has greatly benefited our operations.However, we are interested in integrating the Mews online check-in system for branding and integration purposes. I am seeking input and suggestions if there is a possibility to set this up. I was thinking it might be possible with Zapier to automatically change the reservation status to "Started" once the room has been inspected, based on the link sent out on the day of arrival.Any insights or guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.Thank yo

HI All, our invoices for platform fee and marketplace integrations are now mailed to our finance department.However, is there any way to see old invoices in mews itself?I did find a report in the finance section, however that is only the total amount and not the fees broken down.thanks very much for your help

Hi allRight now, we are preparing to switch the housekeeping to the MEWS Commander. Until everybody is settled in well, we still have to work with printed lists, just to make sure 😉Since the “reservation report” is the one, we’re using right now (also for reception and restaurant because we need more information than on the “guest inhouse” list), we are unhappy, that the “inouse use” rooms are not on this list. They have to be put on manually and therefore they can be forgotten.What kind of list - if any - do you use for housekeeping?Would like to hear, how you work with it. Hi everybody,For our three properties in three different cities, we are currently using the Mews IBE as an overlay widget on our website in an multiple enterprise version. Bookers stay on our Domain. This enterprise version does have limited functions, though, that are available in the standalone version (e.g. suggestion of alternative travel dates, if low availability and more).Since there is no release date available, when those new functions are also available on the widget enterprise version, I want to switch to the standalone version (htts://app.mews.com/distributor...).I would like to avoid that a new window opens with the mews Domain and would rather like to have this on the same page with our URL or if not possible in another way with a subdomain like booking.bigmamahotels.com. Background is that a domain switch can lead to a trust issue as from the guest
