I am excited to announce we are looking for properties to join our Beta programme for our new Automatic Sending of Bills feature. If you're tired of manually tracking down and emailing bills to guests after checkout, this one's for you!
The Problem We're Solving
Many of you have already set up Billing Automation to close bills automatically at checkout — which is great! But there's one step that still requires manual effort: actually sending that bill to the guest.
Right now, if a guest needs a copy of their bill, someone on your team has to send it manually. With around 15,000–20,000 bills being sent in Mews every day, that's a lot of time that could be saved.
What the Feature Does
The Automatic Sending of Bills feature closes the loop on end-to-end billing automation. Here's how it works:
- A new toggle in Accounting Configuration > Bill Management lets you enable automatic bill sending.
- When enabled, any bill that Mews closes automatically at check out will also be emailed to the Bill Owner — no manual action needed.
- When disabled, you'll still see a new "Email balanced bills" option in the checkout flow, giving your team the choice on a case-by-case basis.
The email uses your existing Bill Sent template, so no extra setup is required. Full details, including a screenshot and video can be seen here.
Who's This Beta For?
This feature is a great fit for properties that:
✅ Already use close balanced bill at checkout (automated or manual checkout)
✅ Want to reduce repetitive manual tasks at the front desk
✅ Have billing automation set up so bills are routed to the correct Bill Owner
