Mews offers a digital check-in solution, but it's inadequate for high-end hotels where we have specific procedures to follow, often mandated by our brand standards. We're seeing the limitations of Mews, which isn't tailored to the needs of 4 and 5-star hotels. During a tablet rooming process, we don't have access to guest notes to inform them about spa or restaurant reservations. The worst part is that we can't manually enter credit card details; they require us to purchase their payment machines, which is outrageous. Should I go vote for this too?Not to mention the checkout process, which is impossible to complete in employee mode on the kiosk. Lots of promising ideas, but they're never fully developed. It's frustrating.

Moin in die Runde, bisher nutzen wir MEWS nur als PMS und die Buchungsmaschine noch von HNS würde gerne aber alles über MEWS laufen lassen. Wer hat hier Erfahrungen wie es mit Buchungslücken aussieht. wenn man einen MLOS eingestellt hat z.B. von 5 Nächten aber eine Lücke von 3 Nächten hat ist diese ja dann nicht buchbar. oder Gibt es hierfür eine Einstellung, hat da Jemand Erfahrung? Bei HNS gibt es einen AMO der den MLOS dann automatisch aufhebt und überschreibt. Beste Grüße Simon 

I'm looking around for the best solution for the ID scanner. According to the statement for our setup manager, all data relevant for the country should be transferred with the Mews scanner. Now I have made some tests and e.g. no address is transferred for the German ID.Are there any recommendations for external scanners?Thanks for your input.

Hallo liebe Community, Gibt es mittlerweile die Möglichkeit, automatische Deposits/ automatische settlement rules mit verschiedenen Mehrwertsteuersätzen anzulegen?Also einmal für Logis und einmal für Produkte beispielsweise?Bei uns wird gerade automatisch nur ein Deposit für die gesamte Buchung inkl. aller Produkte erstellt, alles mit demselben Steuersatz. Das ist ja steuerrechtlich nicht korrekt. Haben wir da eine Einstellung nicht gefunden? Liebe Grüße

Hello Mews Community,At our hotel it's required that each room has a unique and distinct accounting account from other rooms. Upon reviewing MEWS, I noticed that it assigns accounting categories based on space categories. However, what we need is for each space to have its own accounting category rather than being grouped by category.Have any of you encountered a similar issue before? If so, how did you resolve it? How can I download the deposit report for future reservations?I would like to check all the bank transfers I have entered in each booking of July and August 2024

Hi community!  I’m not sure if this feature exists, but I’m looking to set up a delivery only rate plan for direct connect channels in MEWS. I haven’t had many issues, but when there’s a mapping issue or promotion that MEWS does not recognize on direct connect channels, reservations have come in really strange due to product rules.I have something similar created for my channel manager, the rate plan is called FIX ME and is a catch all for any reservations with room or rate code errors. This allows me and my front desk team to immediately recognize there’s something amiss with the reservation and attend to it. Anyone know how to set this up or if the feature exists?Looking forward to your advice!

Hi, I am new to Mews and I am looking for a way to automatically create a task when a product is added to a reservation, so the housekeeping team can see the task in their app (let’s say we add breakfast to the room and the team should see that they need to bring the breakfast to the room). I was told to use Zapier but it seems there is no option to trigger an action when adding a product? Any ideas or experiences what would work best? Thank you for any input :)

Hi everybody! I’m experience a new issue in which when I import groups with the import excel file each room is in its own separate bill instead of grouped with with the other rooms in the group.This is happening even though I added a group code/group name to have all rooms appear as own group reservation.At first I thought it had something to do with the routing rules but it happens without the routing rule, too. Anybody had any similar issues?

How do properties pull reports on what a company has produced in a given time frame. Is there a way to report on a  “Group by company” basis for supplementary revenue (conference, F&B) as well as Accommodation.We currently only have the ability to pull a “Group By Company” for the Reservation report for Accommodation.ThanksDarren

I’m trying to extend a guest that was supposed to check out two days ago.  When I change the departure date to a future date, I keep getting the error message "Cannot add or modify consumed items".  What does that mean and how can I extend the guest?

Hi Community, How are you handling having the strike-through rate appear on the booking engine? Our rates are derived from the base rate but are in different rate groups due to different settlement & cancellation policies. To show this discount to the guests we are creating fake ‘copy’ rates to place in the rate group. I feel that there must be a better way, how do others work to have this appear on the booking engine? Thanks,  

Hi guys,In order to increase adoption of the online check-in by the guests (we don’t actually have staff on-site, so they must, at some point) we are looking for a way to communicate the online check-in link through SMS messaging. Either through an integration, or through a self-build API interface, or any other way that’s possible.Anyone have an idea on how to do this?We’ve been looking for ways to automize the check-in process, and Mews recently did a wundeful update allowing the main booked to add details for companions. Now we need to increase guest adoption for this. And many don’t bother to read their emails.There’s a few messaging systems that integrate with Mews, and offer their own check-in solutions. But none seem to get it fully working for an Austrian property that needs to collect information on all guests and their companions.Anyone have any helpful ideas on this? Will be much appreciated!

We are looking for a handy payment provider for a voucher booking feature.As far as I understand MEWS payments doesn’t allow the use of its payment function for other processes e.g. a voucher booking tool. So what is the best solution to this problem. Do you have any suggestions. Obviously a separate stripe/adyen account would be an option and would prob. add additional payment options, but maybe anyone has a recommendation we could have a look into. A question on Space configuration.If the vast majority of your rooms are configured with a “normal bed count” of 2, how do you go about allowing a child or an infant to be booked and stay in parents bed.This is challenging when you operate with child rates, and want to have the applicable rate added. I have the following set-up for extra persons.Infant (0-2 years - Free of charge)Child (3 - 12 years - charge applies)Teen (13 - 17 years - charge applies)Adult (18 years and over - charge applies)If I increase the normal bed count, then 3 adults can book a space which can sleep 2. There is no possibility of adding an extra bed.All tips are appreciated.
