Who here has experienced overbooking managed by Mews, and has had to deal with their premium service? It's time to tell the truth: for the past three years, we've noticed significant shortcomings. We recently hosted a delegation from Mews at the hotel (finally), and our key account manager alone identified more than 30 areas for improvement.Today, I am tired of watching a ping pong match between Mews and their partners, with each side always blaming the other. In the end, it's Mews that isn't doing its job properly. To all the developers: when will you wake up and create a proper PMS for us, with invoice and amount splits, amount adjustments, and a kiosk that works correctly...?But let's get back to my overbooking problem, which has been ongoing for two weeks without a solution, neither for us hoteliers nor for the guest who has no room. This management is scandalous, and we're expected to be responsive. I am being taken for a fool, and so are the guests!

Hey all,Does anyone have a magic tric to change different rooms into a different room category without having to un-assign the reservations from the room? I have a full hotel (summer season started) and we have decided to change the room categories names and characteristics for a marketing point of view, so I have to change about 90 rooms…Thank you for your help,Kind regards from Luxembourg,Eline

Are there any free options to continue automatically listing rates with Google Hotel Search after it ends its integration with Mews on July 1?    On May 10, we received this email from MEWS announcing the discontinuation of the program. We appreciated the ability to list on Google Hotels via the MEWS integration in the past. Hi everyone, How can I send the booking confirmation letter as a PDF to a guest? Because when I send it via Mews, the guest receives an e-mail saying ‘The link has expired, please contact the property”. thank you for the help.Manny 

hei, does someone knows how to remove ‘house use’ reservation when i can’t press on that reservation. it looks like inactive reservation, but i can’t overwrite that reservation. when i try to make new reservation over that old  house use i get msg that its occupied.

Hallo zusammen,wir haben Ende Februar MEWS für unser Hotel und BIZZON im Restaurant eingerichtet.Es ist seither öfter das Problem, dass an einer Verkaufsstelle die Kassenschicht mitten im Service sagt, sie ist abgelaufen und es muss eine neue geöffnet werden. Das Problem ist, dass sich dann keine neue Kassenschicht öffnen kann und man mit der Verkaufsstelle nicht mehr abrechnen kann. Das Datum, wann die Kasse das letzte mal geöffnet wurde, steht dann aber plötzlich auf dem 29.02., als wir unsere Kasse eingerichtet haben.Der Tipp vom Support war, jeden Abend die Kasse zu schließen und morgens wieder zu öffnen. Das machen wir nun schon seit einer Weile, aber das Problem taucht immer wieder auf. Weiß jemand, wo ich suchen könnte, an was das liegt? LG, Aurelia Faber 

Hello dear community,For some time now we have had the problem that offers, booking confirmations etc. can no longer be sent via Mews if the recipient's e-mail has its own domain, for example a company e-mail address. We then receive the error “550 5.7.1 Recipients have complained about included content (B-URL)”. We now also have templates without a link in the email where the error is still displayed. Does anyone else have this and have an idea what we can do?Thank you very much.

Looking back at my time at Mews, we’ve grown our tech teams with a great mix of people with and without hospitality experience. What I’ve noticed (coming from a hospitality background) is that I’ve taken a lot of what I know about the industry for granted. What I may have thought as general knowledge is actually not. There are so many aspects of hospitality that have come as second nature to us that we don’t really think twice about. On the other hand, when building custom integrations, I would think that developers don’t necessarily have the full picture of what the final outcome should be. So that leads to my question: Are there any challenges that come up when working with developers that don’t have hospitality experience? How do you bridge those gaps? Or do you not experience these challenges at all?I’m really interested to hear your experiences!

Hi 😊How do we open a new shift without doing this:Click +Transaction received. Choose the Currency of the cash you're putting into the cashier for the shift. Under Value received, enter the amount of money you're putting into the cashier for the starting balance.We already have a starting balance, is that wrong ?  If it is wrong, how do i remove it again ?Thank you 😀

We have some small hotels that do not use a channel manager. But they would like to use the direct integration with Mews. I have found a feature request here. Maybe that will help...

Is the someone who wants to integrate tomas (popular destination management system in Germany, Switzerland and Austria) to MEWS? Are there ways to send and recieve data through omniboost, zapier or something like that? Or are y’all working with channel manager connections?

Hi 😄I have created vouchers for our corporate guest.Some of these vouchers have 3 different rates attached and they are all showing when you make a reservation in mews. But when adding the voucher in the booking engine only 1 of the rates will show.Is it possible ?

Is anyone utilising a provider who can provide dashboard reporting that is easily accessible on mobile.We’re looking at Power BI however it appears we’ve a significant amount of work ahead to create a fairly simple solution using the API connecting to MEWS/Bizzon.ThanksD

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the below :)  Is there a way to prevent products being added to a bill, for example if the customer declines a preauthorization on their card as we would not want any extra products posted on their bill.it wouldn’t necessarily be posting products onto Mews (when on Mews) it might be another department posting from the EPOS system into Mews i.e. from the Restaurant, the guest wants to charge their bill to their reservation instead of paying directly at the Restaurant.At former properties (using a different system), when we have tried to charge to the PMS from EPOS, we would be notified if the guest had credit. If there was a ‘stop charge’ on their reservation, this would mean that the guest didn’t have credit and we wouldn’t be able to charge to the reservation. Thank you!

Over the weekend, we experienced an overbooking of additional beds. Despite using Mews for 3 years, they still haven't developed inventory management for additional beds for children, which should be a basic feature of a PMS. It should automatically close categories when all additional beds are booked. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions to offer, besides telling me to go vote?

Hi,  We are offering a deal for a limited time, the deal is each person that books 6 nights get 1 night free. I am trying to figure out how to make this possible in MEWS. Someone books 6 nights and then they receive a voucher for 1 night free. Otherwise you’re going to get people that book 3 nights that can also get 1 night free. Can someone help me with this?  I am stuck...
