Good afternoon, We sometimes have the following situation - the example of which is fictional.A guest makes a booking from 15 August until 19 August (4 nights).However, he will not stay on the first night.He booked the night of 15 August merely to guarantee an early check-in on 16 August.In essence, the guest will stay for 3 nights. What would be best in this case? [Especially the consideration of city tax plays here (as the guest did not spend the first night, it is not due for the first night)]1) split the reservation and cancel the first night with 100% cancellation cost?2) keep the reservation entirely but manually remove one city tax (mentioning this on the invoice for authority control purposes)3) another solution altogetherThank you for shedding your light on this.

[SOLVED]Morning, We’ve received multiple OTA reservations overnight. These have been correctly loaded into the system. However, the accompanying email from noreply@mews , notifying us to process the reservation/order, has not come through. Any issues going on in this respect currently? Thnx, PHman88

Is there a way to create a routing rule to a customer account? We have availability blocks with Customer Profiles that are set up at Paymasters for groups. We currently route the room, tax, and other fees to these paymasters based on the group contract. We would love to avoid this manual process. I think I am only seeing the option to create a routing rule to companies or TA’s. This is great for any group that pays via wire transfer but does not help if they pay via CC (80% of groups pay cc). Anyway around this? 

Hi MEWS Community! I am trying to customize our email templates to have a much nicer look and feel and of course add more call to actions and upselling…  What’s the best way to do this? Within MEWS? Within MailChimp? Hubspot?  Can someone please advise?  Thank you!

Hi Community, We just noticed that some of the google tag events being passed from our Mews Booking Engine installed on our website are not complete: For example:Name and Phone of the person booking the reservation Number of nights reserved “view_item_list” even used for multiple eventsIs there any documentation that explains how Mews sends the google tag events. And if it is possible for us to customize the events that are being sent by the booking engine?

Hi Community!I am a Product Manager in the Finance team and I am looking for some feedback on how you use, or would like to use accounting categories for city tax rebates and cancellations.When rebating or cancelling a city tax would you want this to be posted to the same accounting category that the city tax was originally posted to? Or is there a reason why you might want this to be posted to a different accounting category? Hi :)When i go to our booking engine today, it is possible to book rooms much more than one year ahead.Our rates are only updated 1 year ahead.Can i close the booking engine for sale more than 1 year ahead ?Is it with a restriction ?Thank you 😄

Hello everyone. The accounting department would like to have access to or view invoices in Mews. Unfortunately, I cannot select this as a permission in the user management. Which permission do I need to select or which role do I need to assign so that the accounting department can view invoices?

We started using Mews a few days ago and we noticed one thing during the first conversation a few months ago that was problematic for us: Mews cannot link guest profiles with each other.This is not an absolute deal breaker, but for us as a holiday hotel it is extremely common for such connections to exist.Basically, I have the impression that Mews is more geared towards city hotels than holiday hotels, but I just wanted to ask the community what you think about this topic?Would it be interesting for you to link profiles with each other, for example to make family members or friends or other relationships between people visible?Would love to hear your opinion about that! We are in the unfortunate position of having to use Synxis because of a membership/partnership agreement. I feel like a small part of me dies every time i have to update or change anything in the Synxis system, it’s like time travel but not in a good or fun way.Does anyone have any good tips about handling dynamic package products that come via Synxis into Mews? Right now we are handling using Zapier to check Synxis reservations if there is some dynamic package product included, then adjusting the reservation in Mews accordingly.Has anyone found a better way of linking Synxis dynamic package products to Mews products?So this is extras not linked to a particular rate or “static package”, things chosen extra by the guest like for example a bottle of wine, or a fruit platter etc.

Hello, I have tried to figure out how to auto-allocate rooms along with automatic check-in and unique PIN code instructions per room, but to no avail :) The problem I try to figure out is this:- We have a small nature resort consisting of tree types of accommodation. - Each type has a few different cabins.- Every cabin has a lock box with a PIN code to access keys (a manual one, not electronic).Now, here’s where I wonder what to do:I need to auto-checkin people, giving them unique instructions about the cabin’s whereabouts, the number of the cabin and the PIN code without requiring them to check in. We don’t have a manned destination, so kiosks / iPads and the like won’t work. I have tried to look at the info we might access from MEWS when sending emails, but it does not seem to me that I can put in this unique info per cabin anywhere? Or do any of you know how to do such a thing? Thanks :) 

The chat handling in mews right now is very simple and does more harm than good in our case. We already have a chat system with ai integration which is a lot better. The question is: is there a way to remove the mews chat completely?I know that it is possible to remove the chat link from the email but in the mews portal it is still possible to access. We need a way to remove that completely until it is a viable option to use.

We would like to send different emails to a guest making an enquiry than to a guest placing an optional booking.Now they both get a quotation.But a guest who makes a quotation we would like to give only a quotation and clearly indicate that no accommodation is held for them.Whereas with an option, you actually want to indicate that the property is indeed being held.Now the chatbot gave the idea of using other languages to create a different mail. However, you are then faced with the problem that product names are also named in that language.I am sure we are not the only ones with this problem. How did you solve this?

Good morning, Since yesterday I have noticed something new (?) when making a reservation. A ‘lightning’ sign appears under the quotation total, mentioning ‘Billing automation applied’.Is this a new feature or something which impacts existing processes?No changes to Mews were made by me prior to this appearing.
