Is it true that Apple Pay and Google Pay doesn’t work, if you use Mews Payments in a NON-MEWS Booking engine?Could’t find this written anywhere so far, but cannot get it to work.

We have been using MEWS since March 2024 and are located in Ohio, USA. Due to our location, we work closely with government agencies, local higher education organizations, and several 501© tax-exempt organizations. We asked this during our onboarding almost 10 months ago and received the same responses listed in Can you generate invoice without VAT  Summary - duplicate your product library (both Stay and Additional Services) that have the option of a taxed and non-taxed item/stay/product, or, create a product that you add to the bill as a negative amount equal to the taxed amounts. Has anyone found any other “work arounds” to this? Wir bekommen unsere Buchungen von Booking über einen Channelmanager. Unsere Zahlungen von Booking erhalten wir am Folgetag als Überweisung.Wenn Gäste nach Feierabend buchen, können Sie zwar über den Kiosk einchecken, müssten aber die Rechnung theoretisch noch einmal bezahlen. Daher meine Frage: Gibt es bei Mews die Möglichkeit, dem Vertriebskanal Booking eine bestimmte Zahlweise (Überweisung) vorzugeben, damit der offene Betrag sofort auf Null gesetzt wird?

Hi Mews Community, I would like to know if any of your hotels are facing an issue regarding the management of adjustments and credit notes? In our hotels, when trying to create a credit note, it is impossible to view it and correctly associate it with the following items: Bill, payment For exemple, An invoice for €900 A credit note for €150 A payment of €750The balance should be balanced.The issues encountered are:The credit note is marked as "unpaid," when it is actually a refund, and it is listed under invoice xxx, although it is not an invoice. It is impossible to reconcile the unpaid invoice, as the credit note is neither assignable nor identifiable in the system. (Previously, there was a line in the billing tab.)Are you facing this issue too? If so how did you solve it? Any tips would be greatly appreciatedBest regards, 

Hey all We want to change the settings for the online Check-in via Mews connector.Does anyone have an idea where we can change the settings? All our rooms are paid before guest arrivals. Therefore we do not want to ask again for their cc within the online check-in. Can somebody help and give me a reply where i have to change the setting? Looking forward to some help

Hi,I’ve noticed that the search functionality has improved significantly compared to the simple search we had before – well done!However, one thing is still a bit frustrating for me: why is it not possible to search for a booker and see all the reservations associated with this person in their role as the booker?Typically, the booker is the main point of contact for us, especially when it comes to group reservations, so it would be really helpful to access that information easily.Looking forward to your insights!Best,Ed

Dear CommunityWe used to be able to see all the rooms of the “group” (if a reservation belonged to one) lighted up when clicked on one in the timeline. This was easy for room allocation, to make sure reservations of two or three rooms were not placed on opposite sides of the hotel. I noticed today that this feature is no longer working. I preferred it when it was still possible to see the entire group, this made my work a lot easier. Now I have to manually go to each reservation to make sure I’m not missing something. Any one else having trouble with this? 

Hi Community!I’m wondering what your workflow is for pre-paid bookings from OTA’s, those which are paid via bank transfer after guest departure.Booking.com, for example, is now only sending us pre-paid bookings. And we get paid once a week via bank transfer. No more virtual credit cards. Our current workflow is this:Routing rule will move room charges to Booking.com bill The guest does not get an invoice for their stay After guest departure, once we get paid, we move all bookings for that week in a single bill to Booking.com and close itIf the guest requests an invoice, before they are checked-out:Move the room charges back to the guest bill Create a deposit for the total amount send the positive deposit amount to booking.com bill Close the bill to the guest with the deposit The positive deposit amount will then be closed

I am looking for a way to generate an invoice without VAT. This is only relevant if the customer is a tax exempt organization. Does anyone know how to…? Thx

Dear Mews, I noticed that on the billing screen, an added product is henceforth displayed twice.(although in fact consumed only once)I see this is to do with either “Linking product to reservation” or not.If you do (which is default), the 1 product is listed twice on the billing screen.If you don’t, the 1 product is listed once on the billing screen.1 product being listed twice on the same bill creates confusion - it gives the idea that there were two consumptions (whereas only one was taken).However, as the default setting is to link the product to a reservation, there must be a good reason to work this way? Please let me know what the best way to work is.Most clear way to work, as far as I am concerned, is that 1 added product is listed once on the billing screen (~ siutation 2).Any implications I should be aware of when not linking a product to a reservation?---

Hello Mews Community,I’m looking for advice on how to correctly set up tourist tax for our property in The Hague. Currently, we have tourist tax configured as a product with a product rule attached. However, in The Hague, tourist tax is only applicable for guests aged 13 and above.The challenge we’re facing is that the product rule in Mews doesn’t allow us to add age conditions. How do I determine which of the addresses on a profile is to be the primary address ? 

Hallo zusammen,bei uns gibt es die Option rechts über den Kategorien “ Vor Ort Essen” und “Zum Mitnehmen” - gerne würde ich “Zum Mitnehmen” löschen. Man kann da automatisch eine Anpassung der MWST hinterlegen, da wir aber nichts haben, was man mitnehmen kann, würde ich das gerne deaktivieren. Ich weiß allerdings nicht wie. Hi everyone,We’re currently in the process of migrating to Mews, and one of the key areas we’re re-evaluating is our rate structure. In our previous system, we had an overwhelming 200+ rates! These rates were primarily created to gain segment insights and were set up for nearly everything—corporate contracts, GDS bookings, OTA channels, direct bookings, and more. While this worked for us in the past, it led to a lot of complexity in managing, maintaining, and analyzing our rate setup.As we transition to Mews, I’m keen on finding ways to streamline and simplify this approach. For instance:Corporate Rates: I don’t see the need to set up an individual rate for every single corporate negotiated contract anymore. There must be a more efficient way to manage this while still maintaining clarity in reporting and segmentation. Hi,I'm looking for clarification on housekeeping intervals for long-stay bookings. Our goal is to clean each room every 7 days, but we want to control the specific day of the week when this cleaning occurs.I assumed that marking a room as "clean" would reset the 7-day interval each time. However, it seems the interval is only tied to the "system" status change date. For example, one room was marked "dirty" on November 5, and we cleaned it on November 8. Ideally, the 7-day interval would start from the most recent clean date (November 8), resetting the next cleaning date to November 15. But in this case, the interval reset on November 12, which is 7 days after the system’s initial "dirty" mark on November 5.Is there a way to adjust settings so the 7-day interval starts from the last manual cleaning date rather than the system date?
