Has anyone had this error message that the automatic billing is removed when you change another rate in an existing reservation?I have set up automation for one company, but also selected all rates in the settings.Best regards,Jasmin

Hello everybody, I’m part of a new hotel that just opened.We had our first event and we have trouble with the billing. Our billing goes through another program than Mews and we don’t know how to close our bill in Mews. Does someone have the same and could help me? Thanks a lot, Ameline

Does anyone know if Mews is planning a feature where you get an error message or notification if the mail transfer was not successful? It is not possible to check every send status after a confirmation or invoice. Also, many mails from mews seem to end up in the spam folder. 

Phishing emails sent to guests – are others experiencing this?We are currently experiencing an issue where fraudulent emails are being sent to our guests. These emails contain their reservation number and urge them to enter their credit card details via a link.What’s particularly concerning is that the emails include both the correct email address and reservation number for upcoming stays.We use Mews as our only system where both guest email addresses and reservation numbers are stored – so we would like to know if others are experiencing similar issues or are aware of any potential security breach in Mews?

Hi Community,Has anyone else experienced issues with keycutting from Mews to Visionline for large rooms?Keys for rooms of 4 guests or smaller, works fine. Rooms of 6 or more guests, keys cannot be cut via Mews and must be cut directly in visionline. The mapping within Mews has been checked, the settings within visionline have been checked. Support from both companies cannot figure it out.  Hoping someone has already discovered the magic setting to get this working! 

What is absolutely missing in the Excel template is the column with language. You always have to go back to the profile to enter the language so that communication takes place in the guest's language. Please add this urgently!!!

Am I crazy to think the current SOP for optional reservations in MEWS does not make sense? Currently:FD: Manually create Optional Reservation MEWS: Optional Reservation Email sent GUEST: clicks on email and then “Confirms” MEWS: Reservation Confirmed MEWS: “Reservation Confirmation” automatically sent to guest which contains link to “Online check-in” FD: Requests Guest to check-in online (even though stay date could be months in advance) so that credit card details are taken GUEST: Checks in Online (hopefully!) and enters CC info FD: We can charge the reservationThat Step 6 winds up being very confusing and frustrating

Hallo,Gibt es vielleicht jemand anderes, der ebenfalls mit Secret Escapes arbeitet und Duetto als Revenue Management System nutzt? Wir sind auf der Suche nach einem Prozess, wie wir die Secret Escapes Raten am besten anlegen können, wobei die VCC auch automatisch belastet werden kann (Betrag ohne Kommission) und die Netto-Preise (ohne Kommission) sowohl in Duetto als auch in Mews ankommen, aber wir dem Gast dennoch eine Rechnung mit Brutto-Preisen (inklusive Kommission) ausstellen können, wenn er danach fragt. Die Kommission wird automatisch von Secret Escapes einbehalten, daher ist es keine offene Rechnung, aber sie muss von der Buchhaltung gegengebucht werden. Daher müssen die Kommissionen als separater Posten erfasst werden.Vielleicht gibt es hier bereits erfahrene Personen, die uns dabei unterstützen können? Ist es möglich, beim Check-in am Kiosk die Zahlung direkt anzufordern, wenn die Übernachtung noch nicht bezahlt ist?Wir haben nicht von allen Gästen Kreditkartendaten (nicht alle haben eine und wir bekommen aufgrund dessen einige telefonische Buchungen, da Zimmer online bei uns nur mit Kreditkarte buchbar sind) und wer dann über den Kiosk eincheckt, wird nicht nach einer Zahlung gefragt. Ich hätte aber gern bei Check-in eine Zahlung für das Zimmer. Am Kiosk ist ein Zahlterminal vorhanden, eine Zahlung wäre also darüber möglich (dann auch mit ec-Karte). Kann ich irgendwo einstellen, dass die Zahlung verlangt wird? Im besten Fall nach Abfrage der persönlichen Daten, noch bevor die Frage nach der Anzahl der Schlüsselkarten kommt, die Frage, wie bezahlt werden soll.Falls das noch nicht geht, wäre es ein Verbesserungsvorschlag. 

Hey everybody,I'm back with a question regarding Mews online check-in.At the moment, when someone checks in via the portal, their reservation does not automatically get started on the day of arrival.Our third-party communication software now allows us to use the deep link for the Mews guest portal, so I’d like to switch to using the Mews guest portal instead.I need the possibility to automatically start all reservations where guests have checked in online at their check-in time. Since everything is prepaid at our properties, this wouldn’t be an issue.Is there a solution for this? That would be great!Cheers,Hendrik

Ciao tutti, I’m looking for some clarity on the best way to handle a case where we decide to comp a guest’s stay due to a complaint — both from an operational and fiscal point of view in Mews. Here’s the situation and what I’ve considered so far: Scenario: The guest has paid a deposit (1 night), and we want to offer the rest of the stay for free. At first, I thought I could simply go into the Pricing tab and set the remaining nights to €0, leaving the paid night untouched. Then I considered a possibly better approach: move the paid night(s) and deposit to a separate bill, and set the rest of the stay to €0 — this way we isolate the paid and comped items. This would also help if we want to refund the paid part — since it’s separated, we can issue a credit note or refund as needed. I also moved city tax to a separate bill, since it must be paid regardless (either by the guest or by the ho

For weeks mews brings up a popup every time i login that demands to change my 2FA security settings from app to e-mail-verification.Not only do we have special hardware and systems in place that uses the app verification i also think that e-mail-verification is less secure.Why want mews me to change that setting so aggressively to a less secure solution and is there an option to disable that? Its just so disrupting.  

Hi Community, We have recently switched to hardcoded city tax, exclusive from rates and have now found out that only city tax products will display on the Mews booking engine, not the hard coded city tax. A huge issue as we need to display the total price to guests before booking, not disclosing this price is extremely misleading. Has anyone found a workaround? We do not want to work with products and do not want to include City Tax in the rate. Thanks, Sam

Wir hatten einen Business-Gast, der früher abreisen musste und bei dem die Rechnung für den Gesamtaufenthalt bereits bezahlt war. Er sagte, dass das egal ist und die Rechnung einfach so bleiben soll.Wenn ich dann das Zimmer aber freigeben möchte, kann ich keinen Check-out machen, ohne die Buchung entsprechend zu verkürzen. Bei der Verkürzung werden aber die Stornogebühren berechnet, so, wie ich sie eingetragen habe. In dem Fall würde der Gast eine Rückerstattung bekommen, die er aber gar nicht haben wollte. Wie kann ich das lösen, dass ich das Zimmer frühzeitig auschecke und ich den Stornobetrag selbst festlegen kann? Ich würde den in dem Fall einfach höher setzen, aber ich sehe keine Einflussmöglichkeit.Vielen Dank und viele GrüßeHeike

We can't really find anything reasonable on the Internet that doesn't look too cheap. Do any of you also have a self-check-in station with a card dispenser and can you recommend one?I would be grateful for any tips.

Hi All,  We are looking for some good mobile first housekeeping software to implement with Mews. The Functionality in mews is to limiting for us and is not clear enough on the housekeepers side. One of the most important features is the realtime room/space status in mews, so once a room is marked as clean by a housekeeper it should instantly update the space status to clean or inspected in Mews. Also, housekeepers should see all booked products and note’s clearly, not hidden away somewhere and what would be even better if they would get a “task list” per room with everything that should be done extra like adding rose petals or a bottle of champagne. After some research I found Flexkeeper and it looks really appealing with all the features we would like to see. But I was wondering if there is anybody here who has experience with Flexkeeper or perhaps any other tool that works for them. 

Dear community,we still have a lot of elder guests that book with us directly.Also most guests stay with us for several days. As far as I can see the mews confirmation email only displays a total price for all services of all days together (like logis, breakfast, dog fee and whatnot).It’s very hard to do a follow up if a guest insists that a specific part of the offer was discussed differently on the phone ( e.a. dog fee 15€ instead of 30€, rate on a specific day of the stay should be different).I am sure we are not the only ones facing this problem.How did you solve this? Is there a great workaround?We would very much appreciate help :). Best wishes

Hi all,How do you prevent minors from checking in independently via the Mews self check-in kiosk?This past weekend, we experienced a situation at one of our properties where a minor checked in independently via the Mews kiosk, which is actually not legally allowed in our region. We'd like to avoid this happening again.Does anyone know if there are settings, automations, or practical solutions within Mews to help prevent underage guests from checking in without supervision?For example: ID checks, date of birth validation, or automatic alerts when an underage guest tries to check in?Thanks! Emilie   

Is there a place where I can Issue such report?Something like a PDF or a dashboard where it can display all the ones with the 🛇 sign.Usually during wintertime we have the most problematic guests and I want to issue a full report for my manager and manually is taking forever.Thanks in advance. 

Guten morgen liebe Community,wir sind im Januar mit MEWS gestartet und haben riesige Probleme mit der Anbindung an Datev.Wir haben bereits im Dezember die Anbindung an Omniboost aktiviert und bis heute schafft es Omniboost nicht, uns die Anbindung zur Verfügung zu stellen bzw. ins Laufen zu bekommen. Das heißt wir sind buchhalterisch und umsatzsteurmässig quasi blind.Hat jemand von euch, einen Tipp wie wir die Daten aus Mews rein und nach DATEV reinbekommen?Im Grunde ist es ja nur eine csv Datei mit dem korrekten Datenmapping - nichts wildes, aber Omniboost bekommt es nicht hin.Ich verzweifle und wäre für einen Tipp sehr dankbar.Viele GrüßeClaudia Will

Hi Fellow Mewser, I´m trying to find a way to override restrictions. Once a (rate-)restriction is set, no one might be able to override them. Is there a way to give some users (like Mangager / Admin accounts) the permission to override restrictions? It would be very helfpul if you could assign those authorizations to some users.Looking foward to your input and maybe a helpful solution!Thanks in advance ;)Sascha
