Hi Community!I am a Product Manager in the Finance team and I am looking for some feedback on how you use, or would like to use accounting categories for city tax rebates and cancellations.When rebating or cancelling a city tax would you want this to be posted to the same accounting category that the city tax was originally posted to? Or is there a reason why you might want this to be posted to a different accounting category? If so, why?Looking forward to your feedback and thanks in advance!

Hello everyone. The accounting department would like to have access to or view invoices in Mews. Unfortunately, I cannot select this as a permission in the user management. Which permission do I need to select or which role do I need to assign so that the accounting department can view invoices?

Good morning, Since yesterday I have noticed something new (?) when making a reservation. A ‘lightning’ sign appears under the quotation total, mentioning ‘Billing automation applied’.Is this a new feature or something which impacts existing processes?No changes to Mews were made by me prior to this appearing.   

Hi 😊How do we open a new shift without doing this:Click +Transaction received. Choose the Currency of the cash you're putting into the cashier for the shift. Under Value received, enter the amount of money you're putting into the cashier for the starting balance.We already have a starting balance, is that wrong ?  If it is wrong, how do i remove it again ?Thank you 😀

Dear Mews Community,I have a problem with our tax advisor regarding the taxation date of our customer company invoices.This is because the customer invoice that we send to the company for remittance has a different tax date than the invoice that is generated by the payment of this customer invoice.Our tax advisor considers it essential that the taxation date must not change, but must be the same.What experiences have you had with your tax advisors, or what is vin Mews' opinion on this?Kind regardsMicha    

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the below :)  Is there a way to prevent products being added to a bill, for example if the customer declines a preauthorization on their card as we would not want any extra products posted on their bill.it wouldn’t necessarily be posting products onto Mews (when on Mews) it might be another department posting from the EPOS system into Mews i.e. from the Restaurant, the guest wants to charge their bill to their reservation instead of paying directly at the Restaurant.At former properties (using a different system), when we have tried to charge to the PMS from EPOS, we would be notified if the guest had credit. If there was a ‘stop charge’ on their reservation, this would mean that the guest didn’t have credit and we wouldn’t be able to charge to the reservation. Thank you!

Hallo liebe Community, Gibt es mittlerweile die Möglichkeit, automatische Deposits/ automatische settlement rules mit verschiedenen Mehrwertsteuersätzen anzulegen?Also einmal für Logis und einmal für Produkte beispielsweise?Bei uns wird gerade automatisch nur ein Deposit für die gesamte Buchung inkl. aller Produkte erstellt, alles mit demselben Steuersatz. Das ist ja steuerrechtlich nicht korrekt. Haben wir da eine Einstellung nicht gefunden? Liebe Grüße 

Hello Mews Community,At our hotel it's required that each room has a unique and distinct accounting account from other rooms. Upon reviewing MEWS, I noticed that it assigns accounting categories based on space categories. However, what we need is for each space to have its own accounting category rather than being grouped by category.Have any of you encountered a similar issue before? If so, how did you resolve it? Hi everybody! I’m experience a new issue in which when I import groups with the import excel file each room is in its own separate bill instead of grouped with with the other rooms in the group.This is happening even though I added a group code/group name to have all rooms appear as own group reservation.At first I thought it had something to do with the routing rules but it happens without the routing rule, too. Anybody had any similar issues?

Suddenly we woke up today to find something really weird with our Mews account. This is what happened: for every customer that we have whether they have checked out before and paid their bills or they are currently checked in and have already paid their reservation, in their profile page, and in their Billing section, all the billing Items names are changed to “Invoice refund” for no reason whatsoever with a negative amount.How is that change possible? Who can change the invoice names and stateWhy would Mews change the name of all these invoices?

Hello everyone, how do you split amounts with Mews? For instance, when you receive a payment and need to allocate it to different bills. Also, how do you handle check-out if you have multiple guests in the same room who want to split the bill among themselves? Personally, I find it a bit cumbersome to have to use a calculator and recreate invoices via Excel after the guests have checked out.

Hello everybody This thread is not quite a new one but more of an addition to an already existing topic (see below)Indeed, on the feedback forum, I came accross an additionnal trick explained in order to have a PO number appearing on the invoice as it is possible for the reservation linked to a travel agent but for company reservation related. I’ve been using it since October 2023 and it work pretty fine You can just create a dedicated “fake” travel agency profile called for example **PO Company** (you can of course use an already existing “real one” . You will understand why further below) When you encode a company reservation you just then have to also put up the travel agency to obtain the “Travel agency confirmation number” case (see below)

Help from Spain based properties,When taking pre payments, a deposit is required to account for tax at the time of payment. To close an invoice to the fiscal registry guest passport/ID details are required. How do you manage to collect passport/ID details at the time of booking or how do you get around the requirement to have this information in order to close invoices? Thanks for advice! 

Dear Mews freaks,I am facing a challenge and would like to hear your opinions and possible solutions. Our hotel offers rooms and breakfast and creates invoices in Mews at check-out for all reservations. We also have a nice terrace where we sell drinks to passersby. For these terrace sales we create invoices under the name "external terrace". However, it becomes difficult to request name and address information for billing purposes from every customer who drinks a coffee or a Coke on the terrace.I was recently informed by the tax authorities that every invoice must officially include the customer's name and address. Missing this information can result in a fine between 50 and 500 euros per invoice, depending on the invoice amount. Since I do not exceed 25,000 euros per year for these terrace sales, I do not need to purchase a white cash register.Do any of you have experience with a similar problem and perhaps a suggestion for a solution? I've raised this issue a while ago with the premium support, they agreed it was a bug, but told me to 'raise awereness' on the forum to get it fixed. Instead of just fixing it. So here goes:What is going wrong:I set up a rule for Service A to send all prepaid reservations + products for travel agency A to a paymaster. This works fine.   Then I set up bookable service B to send all prepaid reservations + products for the same  travel agency A to the same paymaster.   Then the second rule works fine, but the first rule suddently "forgets" to send the products, and only sends nights.   And when you go and fix rule number 1, then rule number 2 starts forgetting to send the products.End result: We are stuck with hundreds of tourist tax, breakfast and cleaning fee items on the guests bill, and not on the paymasters. Can somebody tell a developer? Or tell me if I might be doing something wrong here?

Hello Mews team,I wanted to see if anyone had a suggestion on how to better classify media stays. For example, we had an influencer stay with us, and all expenses were comped. I created a product to zero out all her charges. Would this be the best way to track these types of reservations and show at the end of the year how much has been spent on marketing?I appreciate your help and collaboration on how to improve this system, for a freshman at Mews University!

hi GuysWe had a very large block over the past 5 weeks with over 3250 room nights and when checking out the final invoice I got a message it contained more than 3000 items and could not be closed. I should now split the invoice in 3 parts to send it according to the message I got, but this is not an option and I need 1 invoicehow can this be solved?

Is it possible to change receivables invoices that have already been created?Can individual items be deleted from a receivables invoice so that the total invoice amount is reduced accordingly? Thanks!!

Hello!How are you supposed to find the right target bill when moving items? It might seem easy, but when you have several guests of the same company in house or from the same travel agency with routing rules applied, then you might find numerous entries in the move items to window… see an example:Most of the time you just want to move the items from the current reservation to an already open company bill in the same reservation, but it’s not clear which one it is … especially when the open balance is the same for many… wouldn’t it be a good idea to highlight or list the open bills of the current reservation first?What are your thoughts or hints  ?Regards,Jean-Philipp.

Hello everyone We just migrated from Amadeus Idpms to Mews One of the consequences is that some of the open receivables on our books in Amadeus were not yet balanced at the time of migration (because not paid yet).  Recently we have received a payment for an invoice issued in June 2023 I was wondering how to post the payment in Mews. Here is the idea I thought of:=> First: going on to the company profile - billing - open new bill=> Then: go on payment - external - choose invoice and post a negative value of the paid amount (put a note for reference like: “ bill june 2023 Amadeus”)=> Last: post the payment (wire transfer in this case) which would balance the bill  What do you think? The main question here of course is: how to process the remaining receivables from the previous PMS in Mews ?😉 Thanks in advance for your help and insights Regards
