The Need for a Third Gender Option

Hello Community,I hope this post finds you well. Today, I want to open up a conversation about a topic that's been lingering in MEWS feedback portal – the addition of a third gender option in the Guest Profiles.In the MEWS feedback portal, there are currently three feature requests addressing this issue:Add Gender as Handling Criteria for Hostels (13 votes) Add Non-Binary as Genderline Check-In (120 votes) Add Non-Binary as Gender (26 votes)Surprisingly, all these requests are currently labeled as "Unlikely," with no roadmap commitment from the product team.I've been in touch with some hostels, particularly those offering female-only dorms. For them, having gender information before guests arrive is crucial. However, the current online check-in process only provides the choice between male and female, leaving out a significant portion, or simply not ask for this information.I'm curious to hear from other organizations. Do you consider gender information important for online check-in? A

issues with invoices and reconciliation

hello everyone,mews implemented changes to “issue invoices” as well as payment reconciliation, and i was wondering if any of you have been able to find suitable solutions to the issues i’ve been having:1- one a bill is issued on invoice, it disappears from billing and only available in dashboard, where you need to click on each bill to view the amount that is due.2- when you have 20 different bills due, in various profiles and guests, that need to be reconciled with 1 regroupped payment, the new solution does not allow you to post the payment and then do the reconciliation, you must do both at the time of posting the payment.. furthermore, if the payment regroups various invoices scattered on various guest profiles, its impossible to attach the payment to each fraction of the bill 3 - most concerning is that once an invoice has been issued, and you issue a refund, the invoice is still shows as overdue. even if you rebated the bill4 - a rebated bill can only be closed to the initial pro

Online Check in

Good afternoon,Is anyone else experiencing issues with the Online Check-in process displaying the upgraded room category instead of the originally booked category (named in MEWS: Requested category) ?This can create confusion for guests who may assume the upgraded room comes with an additional charge. They will not realize that it’s a complimentary upgrade offered to them.If anyone has suggestions or insights on how to address this, your help would be greatly appreciated!Thank you,Carol

Rechungsadresse für Firmenkunden beim Buchen und Check-In ausfüllen lassen

dringend suchen wir die Möglichkeit, das das Sekretariat unserer Gäste die Möglichkeit hat, sowohl eine Gastadresse anzugeben als auch  eine Rechnungsanschrift, das eine brauchen wir um gesetzeskonform zu arbeiten, das andere um Geld zu verdienen. Gleiches für den Online-Check-In und -Out.  Der Gast will die Daten einpflegen, kann er aber nicht. Stattdessen müssen wir etliche Rechnungen im Nachhinein korrigieren, umschreiben, stornieren was nur unnötige Arbeit für uns und unsere Firmenkunden darstellt.

Chargé ou annuler des frais dans le passé

Notre audition se fait à chaque jour. C’est à dire que l’auditeur de nuit prépare les rapports pour fermer la journée à chaque jour. Mon problème, c’est que puisque nous ne pouvons pas mettre la « Fenêtre de modification de l’historique opérationnel » à 0 jour, lorsqu’un frais est annulé et que la date est la journée précédente, je dois recommencer l’audition au complet.Par exemple, dans le nuit de lundi à mardi, l’auditeur enregistre les rapports comptables et les balances des tiers de la journée du lundi. Si le mardi, quelqu’un annule un frais chargé le lundi, les rapports du lundi ne sont plus bons et il faut les ressortir. Je ne m’en rend compte que le mercredi (lorsque ce n’est plus possible de facturer/annuler quelque chose dans la journée du lundi).J’aimerais ne pas avoir à recommencer constamment les auditions. Comment faites vous de votre côté? Je commence à penser que la solution la plus efficace serait de fermer les journées seulement une fois la fenêtre de modification d’un

Hat jemand eine Idee , wie  bei Spontanbuchungen  die mailvorlagen  automatisch rausgehen  können? Da die Vorlagen zeitlich begrenzt sind, bei mews so eingestellt, bekommt ab 12 Uhr kein Gast mehr  eine Info  kein Code zum einchecken und keine Zimmernummer. Nachmittags ist die Rezeption bei uns nicht besetzt .

Before Start email - Changes to Mews Auto emails

Hi,We’ve noted that the Before Start email has disappeared from the MEWS emails?  We can’t see anything in MEWS updates about this and its still showing as an email in the Knowledge Base, so just to ask is this an update?  Many thanks

Same Voucher Code

Does anyone know if it’s possible to use the same voucher code for two different vouchers with restrictions? In my case, I am trying to set up a voucher that provides 5% off all the time. However, on weekends that there is a concert in town, a second voucher will provide 10% off instead, on very specific dates that I was able to set up with restrictions.  However, I want these vouchers to be easy to use. I was thinking that if I used the same voucher code for both, when guests type that code in on our booking engine, it would bring up the appropriate rate based on the dates selected and the restrictions I have set up.  Has anyone done this before, or have an easier way to do it if this route isn’t feasible?  Thank you!

"checked-in online" status change on the day of arrival

Hey everybody,I'm back with a question regarding Mews online check-in.At the moment, when someone checks in via the portal, their reservation does not automatically get started on the day of arrival.Our third-party communication software now allows us to use the deep link for the Mews guest portal, so I’d like to switch to using the Mews guest portal instead.I need the possibility to automatically start all reservations where guests have checked in online at their check-in time. Since everything is prepaid at our properties, this wouldn’t be an issue.Is there a solution for this? That would be great!Cheers,Hendrik

Debit card payment on Stripe Terminal

Dear community,for a month we have activated Stipe as our default payment facilitator and Adyen remain as the secondary payment. As soon as we have switched the stripe as default payment, a payment using debit card via Adyen terminal is no longer possible, however via Stripe terminal is possible.We do not really pay attention, till recently we encountered the issue, that the debit card payment came as mastercard debit or visa debit (despite the debit card itself have no VS/MC function). Fo us and guest are very confusing. Internaly, we though that the card was tokanized ans saved in mews. Isn’t it suppose mentioned as maestro/debit card instead mastercard debit or visa debit?.Has anyone encounter the same issue?.  Best regards,Ringga

Mews POS - separate Tagesberichte für separate Verkaufsstellen

Liebe Community,wir arbeiten in unserem Restaurant mit mews POS. Am Freitag eröffnen wir ein weiteres Outlet, welches einen eigenen Tagesbericht ziehen können muss.Andernfalls können wir in beiden Outlets leider nicht nachvollziehen, ob die Abrechnung stimmt.Bisher habe ich es nicht hinbekommen den Tagesbericht auseinanders zu bekommen. Alternativ haben wir über Kassenabschlüsse der einzelnen Kassierer im neuen Outlet gedacht - auch das habe ich bisher nicht herausfinden können. Ich bin der Meinung, dass es diese Funktion mal gab; aktuell finde ich diese Möglichkeit jedoch nicht mehr - HILFE! Über Ideen freue ich mich sehr. Liebe Grüße aus HamburgFrauke

Doppelte Abbuchungen durch Gast

Hallo ihr lieben,in der letzten Woche sind vermehrt Fälle aufgetaucht, in denen laut Zahlungsüberblick des Kundenprofils der Gesamtbetrag (Logis) der Reservierung doppelt von der Kreditkarte abgebucht wurde, in sehr kurzen zeitlichen Abständen hintereinander. Wenn nun der Gast vor Ort noch beispielsweise Frühstück konsumiert, entsteht eine zu erstattende Differenz. A: Wie entstehen die doppelten Abbuchungen und wie kann ich das verhindern?B: Wir erstatte ich nur die Differenz zwischen doppelt gezahlter Logis und konsumiertem Frühstück, wenn man lediglich die gesamte Zahlung bei der Übersicht erstatten kann? Im Abrechnungsfenster ist m.E. keine Erstattung auf eine hinterlegte Kreditkarte möglich. Danke euch und einen guten Start in die Woche. Liebe Grüße, Niclas

Kontingentbegrenzung einer Rate

Hallo!Ich hab da mal wieder eine Frage. 😎Besteht die Möglichkeit, einer Rate nur ein gewisses Kontingent zuzuordnen?Ich habe eine Frühbucher-Rate, möchte diese aber nur für eine begrenzte Anzahl an Zimmern buchbar machen.Wir arbeiten mit DIRS als Channelmanager, da konnte ich das als Regel einstellen (schließe diese Rate, wenn weniger als x Zimmer verfügbar sind).Besteht in Mews auch eine solche Möglichkeit? Unter den Restriktionen finde ich keine Einstellmöglichkeit, die dem entspricht.Diese Rate ist günstiger als die anderen und wird damit in dem Drop-Down-Menü der Ratengruppe zuerst angezeigt und ich muss dann manuell auszählen, ob ich die Rate anbiete oder nicht um mir dann die nächste Rate anzeigen zu lassen. Birgt immer auch Fehlerpotenzial.Wäre schön, wenn es dafür eine Möglichkeit geben würde und ihr mir helfen könnt. Dankeee!Viele GrüßeHeike

One Page Booking Anbindung // Produkte

Hallo zusammen,vielleicht kann uns hier jemand weiterhelfen. Wir haben One Page Booking als neues Buchungssystem bei uns live gestellt. Allerdings wird bei der Übertragung das Frühstück immer doppelt gebucht. Der Gesamtpreis wird mit Frühstück dem Gast bestätigt und dann bei der Übertragung wird das Frühstück erneut auf- und von der Karte abgebucht. Habt ihr eine Idee woran das liegen könnte? Auch die Kinderpreise werden gar nicht übertragen. Habt ihr hier in der Standardrate bei den Kinderpreisen etwas hinterlegt? Wir haben bis jetzt immer nur über Preisanpassung und dann Zusatzbelegung gearbeitet. Danke schon mal!Viele Grüße, Paul

Raports statistiques par Tarif et par type de chambre

Bonjour, dans Hotello, nous utilisions à tous les jours les 2 rapports suivants : Statistiques par tarif de chambre journalier et Statistique par type de chambre. J’ai fouillé dans Mews et dans Mews Analyse et je n’ai pas trouvé.Nous voulons savoir combien de chambres ont été vendues par type de chambre et le revenu généré pour chaque type de chambre. Nous voulons aussi savoir le nombre de chambres vendues par tarif (et non le revenu).La seule chose que j’ai trouvé, c’est le revenu par type de chambre (Analyse de gestion : Revenue by space category), mais je n’ai pas le nombre de chambre pour chaque type de chambre, donc je ne peux pas trouver mon revenu moyen par type de chambre.Est-ce que quelqu’un a trouvé un moyen de sortir ces données?Merci beaucoup!

When trying to download an unpaid invoice as a PDF, Mews only offers only the option to issue a proforma invoice. However, some companies cannot make payments based on a proforma invoice. How can I generate an invoice that is not proforma?

🔎Tips for transitioning to a self-service front office

Hey everyone!I'm looking for tips and tricks on transitioning from an old-school front office to a fully self-service front office with a front office host. Anyone with experience making this shift? What were the biggest challenges and how did you overcome them? Any advice or ideas are welcome!What we have already prepared:training for employees: the new service flow, basics of the new role and responsibilities of a front office host, tasks, etc.  2 pilot-hotels: 1 with Mews Kiosk and 1 with Duve  overview of needed renovations, hardware and software Some questions I have: which solution(s) (Kiosk and/or Guest Journey) do you use and why?  How did you help guests embrace this change? Did you use specific communication strategies?  How did the new role of the front office evolve compared to the traditional front office?  How did you deal with staff resistance and did you find effective ways to keep them engaged?  If you had to do the transition all over again, what would you do differen

GA4 Purchase Event Not Logged

I have been working through the various pieces of documentation to setup GA4 and the MEWS Widget with mixed results. After implementing the setup, i opened google tag manager in preview mode as well as GA4 in debug mode to check that events were being triggered. While navigating through my website, events were triggered successfully up until where i would expect the purchase event to trigger. While a purchase was made and all events leading up to the purchase were triggered, the purchase was not triggered at all, as well as no page location or page name triggering.  I have double checked my setup and implementation a number of times with no obvious errors, and also reviewed the community topics (some of which seem to have a similar problem but never got an answer).  Hoping to find some guidance from anyone that has had the same issue.

Hallo zusammen,wir nutzen den ‘Gäste im Haus’ Report immer für die Frühstücksliste.Und nun ist uns aufgefallen, dass dieser, trotz Auswahl ‘alle Produkte’, nicht alle Frühstücke anzeigt.Ging es ggf. euch auch schon so? Wie kann man das zuverlässig einstellen, dass wirklich alle Produkte angezeigt werden?Danke für Eure Hilfe.
