Mews offers a flexible pricing system, like a sports team where the initial game plan is established but can be adjusted according to match conditions. You have the freedom to set base rates, like choosing players for your team, which can be independent or linked to an existing rate, like players with complementary roles. These rates can be open to all, like a stadium welcoming all supporters, or private, like exclusive boxes for guests with a code or specific corporate contracts. ️
Before creating a rate, you must create a rate group to which it will belong. Rate groups are price categories that share identical cancellation policies and billing rules. They provide flexibility to adjust revenue management according to periods of high or low activity.
Rates can be both: independent rates, called base rates, and rates that depend on an existing rate, called dependent Rates. Note that Mews allows you to create up to 80 public rates and an unlimited number of private rates with the Enterprise subscription.
You can also choose to make your rates: Public, so they are visible to everyone and bookable in Mews or any connected channel, or Private, so they are bookable in Mews or in the Mews Booking Engine, except in the case of a voucher connection. ️
Vouchers will be accessible to customers who have a link to a voucher or the promotional codes you have defined. Be aware, if you have subscribed to the Starter subscription, you cannot create vouchers in Mews Operations and the Mews Booking Engine will not display the voucher field. ️
When creating a voucher, here are some important points to consider:
-
The rate associated with a voucher must be a private rate.
-
The booking date and validity date indicate respectively from when and until when customers can use the code to make a reservation, and the period during which the code is valid and the promotion will apply.
-
The voucher code: a random code will be generated at the time of creation. A code is not modifiable, but you can create a new one, and it is recommended to personalize it. ️
-
Restrictions: if the client adds a voucher code or stay dates while the associated rate is restricted or unavailable, the booking engine will not display the voucher rate but other public rates instead.
