Hi all 👋,

we onboarded our last property a week ago 🏨✨.

Now we would like to use the MPE booking engine for our website 💻🛎️.

It was set up by our external provider, but currently we only have the option to book adults — no additional age categories 👶🧒👦.

Does anyone know how to adjust the setup to enable more age categories? 🤔🔧

You’re not missing a setting here — what you’re seeing is actually a current limitation of the Multi-Property Booking Engine (MPE / MP distributor).

What’s happening

In the multi-property booking engine, the first step only allows guests to select the number of persons, not detailed age categories.
This is by design, because age categories aren’t standardized across properties (even if, in your case, they’re configured the same way).

How age categories work in MPE

Guests can select detailed ages only after:

  1. Choosing a specific property, and

  2. Moving to the space / room selection step

At that point, your configured age categories (Adult, Child, etc.) appear and are applied correctly for that property.

Important to know

  • There’s no configuration switch (neither in Mews nor on the external provider’s side) that enables multiple age categories on the first MPE step.

  • This is a product limitation, not a setup issue.

Gib mal in der Suchleiste “Alterskategorien” ein, dann müsstest Du direkt dort landen. 

Alternativ: Einstellungen - Services - Service auswählen - und die unterste Option sind die Alterskategorien

Hi ​@Sonja,

die Alterskategorien sind auch in den einzelnen Hotels aufgesetzt, dort sind sich auch auf der Buchungsmaschine sichtbar, allerdings nicht wenn man die übergeordnetet Multi Property Booking Engine aufruft, das ist leider das Problem.

I see - sorry, Frage falsch interpretiert. Ich hab aber nachher noch ein Zoom zum Thema Multi Property, vielleicht kann ich Deine Frage gleich mit reinnehmen :)

eine Antwort kann ich Dir leider noch nicht liefern, aber ich hab den Link zum Thread noch einmal weiter geleitet, vielleicht findet sich dann die Lösung schneller :)

@adrianne.flores thank you for your feedback. already thought so even with same age categories on all hotels.

But ok we will stick with that.
