is there anything in development where an icon (pie) is placed on the dashboard for unallocated rooms instead of a red line on the timeline?

Hello @simonruri,

Do you often have unassigned rooms on the timeline? Are you manually unassigning allocated rooms and then selecting rooms for each reservation upon arrival - the traditional way?

If so, I recommend letting the system assign rooms automatically, and only making changes when necessary or to accommodate specific requests or needs.

The “Optimize Space Allocation” feature can be a great help - just put a little trust in the system.

Anything left under the red area will typically be actual overbookings or reservations that require special attention and manual reassignment.

Hello Simonruri,
Not that I know off. Have you checked feedback.mews.com and maybe see if anyone else have requested something like this before?

@Robin Gustavsson we tried it but it provides us with more issues than before. so we manually assign them :-)

Hello!

What type of issues did you experience? Reservations that have been manually allocated and locked will not be affected by the optimization.

@Robin Gustavsson assigned reservation will be unassigned or switched with different ones and still some are unassigned eventhough rooms would be available. pretty strange … we tried it after the onboarding a few times but for now not a help at all. We will give it a new try after onboarding of the last hotel which will be in december 25...

I understand.
Assigned rooms can, and probably will, be reassigned within the category, as the optimization process is designed to do just that - optimize. I believe some rooms were left unassigned because you had locked certain reservations to specific rooms, which prevented the system from fully optimizing the timeline. A notification with suggestions from the system would have been great in that case!

I think there will naturally be some overlap and adjustments when transitioning from manually assigning all rooms to letting the system handle the work for you.
