How to have Rates/Rate Groups be turned off based on occupancy?

How do I create a restriction OR policy where by the MEWS system automatically closes my discounted rates once occupancy reaches a certain threshold. For instance, if I want my winter special rate to be automatically turned off when my occupancy reaches 60%. How do I that? The key is that it has to be automated within MEWS. I don’t want to have to go through the rates and mark them private.

Hey Jigish,

thank you for the post! 🙂

At the moment it is not possible to create a restriction based on occupancy, as the other commentors already mentioned. The parameters you can currently use to create restrictions are:

  • Minimum advance: Minimum number of days in advance to make a booking.
  • Maximum advance: Maximum number of days in advance to make a booking.
  • Minimum length: Minimum number of nights to stay.
  • Maximum length: Maximum number of nights to stay.
  • Minimum price: Minimum price of the booking.
  • Maximum price: Maximum price of the booking.
  • Currency: Currency used for all restrictions with minimum or maximum prices set.

@Jigawho from what i know that is not possible as you are not able to combine restrictions with occupancy.

if you wnat to close the rate i would rather set an restriction manually than put them into private.

The only way to do this is with an external Revenue Management System integration - Mews cannot control rates or restrictions via occupancy at present.
