Groups are complex. Managing them in Mews shouldn’t be.

If you manage groups in Mews, you already know the reality.

No two groups behave exactly the same.

One organiser wants singles and doubles in the same room category. Another sends names before the block is ready. Guest counts change. The final rooming mix looks nothing like the original forecast. A ballroom shares physical inventory with smaller spaces. Revenue wants to know what can still be sold. Reservations wants to fix the booking without starting again.

These are normal, everyday group scenarios.

What should not be normal is having to work around the system to manage them.

We built this release to give teams a simpler, more flexible way to manage the real complexity of group business, directly in Mews.

Less setup

Build the group the way it was actually sold.

  • Product rules can follow automatically from the parent rate into the block.
Outcome: configure the commercial logic once instead of recreating breakfast, parking or other included products for every group.

  • Different occupancies and rates now work within the same room category.
Outcome: model real rooming mixes directly in Mews instead of inventing extra room types or tracking the detail elsewhere.

Fewer corrections

When the group changes, the system should change with it.

  • Pickup follows guest count changes.
Outcome: if a single becomes a double, Reservations updates the booking once and the pickup moves with it.

  • Existing reservation groups can now be merged into the Availability Block.
Outcome: correct the group structure without cancelling valid reservations, rebuilding bookings or losing their history.

More freedom to sell

A forecast is a plan, not a hard limit.

  • Keep selling when the final rooming mix differs from the original forecast.
Outcome: Revenue keeps visibility on plan versus reality while Reservations can still accept business when the room category genuinely has capacity.

Clearer control

Complex groups are easier to manage when teams can trust the picture in front of them.

  • Connected spaces are reflected in availability calculations.
Outcome: teams can see what is genuinely available across different configurations of the same physical inventory.

  • The updated Availability Block Report makes pickup and blocked inventory easier to review.
Outcome: Sales, Reservations and Revenue can find the groups that need attention faster, without opening blocks one by one.

The value is not simply a longer list of Availability Block features.

It is that Mews can now handle many more of the real situations hotel teams deal with every day, in one simpler workflow.

  • For Sales and Events teams: build the group the way it was actually sold, with less setup and more flexibility as plans change.

  • For Reservations teams: handle guest and booking changes once, without having to correct the same group in several places.

  • For Revenue teams: keep a clear view of forecast versus actual pickup while continuing to sell genuinely available inventory.

  • For General Managers: reduce manual admin and give teams a more consistent way to manage complex group business.

Sell the group. Let the block keep up.
