Liebe Community,

  • Falls ja, in welchen Bereichen (z. B. Function Sheets, finanzielle Abwicklung, Packages etc.)?
  • Oder habt ihr inzwischen gute Workarounds bzw. Best Practices gefunden?

We have been using Mews Events for nine months now, and we are dissatisfied with it. Unfortunately, some functionality is not fully developed, and there are many bugs. In addition, there are very few releases with new features.

Issues we are encountering:

  • Standard emails sent from a generic email address that does not match the hotel’s identity.

  • Quotations that allow only one possible layout, with very limited options to adjust or customize it.

  • Availability blocks between Mews and Mews Events synchronize poorly, resulting in frequent overbookings and unjustified room blocks.

  • Invoices do not comply with legal requirements, so we have to process deposits manually in Mews.

  • Products appear on the quotation as lunch, dinner, or breakfast even when they are not. This cannot be changed.

  • It is not possible to add a program to the quotation. It has to be added in the comments and later manually added again to the function sheet.

  • Support at Mews Events takes a long time to answer urgent questions.

Dear Geeke,

Thank you so much for your detailed and honest feedback, this is truly helpful for us. We really appreciate your transparency.

May I ask one more thing, did these issues occur from the very beginning or did they only become apparent over time? And have you received any concrete roadmap updates or proposed solutions from Mews?

Thank you so much again.

Best regards, Sarah

Dear Sarah,

The availability issues are recent; the other issues have been there from the start. We have talked to the product owner of Mews Events and do believe that they have a solution in mind for the future. We haven't received a road map or any concrete solutions at this point in time.

There have been a lot of bugs at the start of Mews Events last year, we do notice them becoming less frequent.

Best regards, Geeke

Hi @sarah.abdalla, @Johannes Rott , @Geeke , @Marcel Heins

I understand you need some visibility on what’s next with Mews Events, so please find a bit more information about what we forecast to release in the next coming weeks:

Real Time product posting - to allow you to sync product from the Quote to the PMS invoice directly after quote validation (and not 7 days before the Event) and allow you to do it multiple time to modify the future final invoice with as many modifications you need to do on the quote.

AI powered rooming List - to automatically pick up room from an availability block thanks to any excel file a client send to you with the rooming/naming list. The bigger you welcome group, the more time you will spare thanks to this AI powered feature.

Event Package Accommodation Sync - Create availability block even if the quote displays a package which includes accommodations.

After those 3 important updates, we plan to enhance Availability Block report, to automate Event final invoice and to propose a Business on the Book forecast report. And last but not least, we should be able to post meeting room from Events to the PMS, to finish 100% of last invoice automation and avoid any manual task.

That said, I would like to thank you for the detailed and direct feedback. I don’t want to derail the thread with back-and-forth, but I do want to make sure this gets handled properly. Please DM me or email tristan.gibausset@mews.com and I’ll route this to the right teams and come back with a clear next step.
