Hi Community 👋

Ledger reporting is now live across all properties. Built on double-entry accounting principles, it provides real-time, immutable financial data that makes reconciliation simple.

Our next step is making sure this Ledger data flows seamlessly into your accounting system.

We're working with Omniboost to upgrade all Omniboost accounting integrations to use Ledger as their data source. Before each integration upgrade is rolled out to everyone, we run a pilot with a small number of properties—and we're looking for pilot participants.

Below accounting integrations are ready to be piloted 🎉

  • Exact Online
  • Exact Globe
  • Twinfield
  • Sage Coala
  • Sage Generation Expert
  • Visma.net
  • Fortnox
  • Hotel Investor Apps

Why join the pilot?

  • Keep your books aligned with Mews
With Ledger data flowing directly into your accounting system, your figures reconcile cleanly against the Mews trial balance and line up across all your ledger balances.
  • 📊 Cleaner, accounting-compliant data
Benefit from immutable double-entry accounting records with a clear audit trail for your finance team
  • 🤝 Work closely with Omniboost. During the pilot you're in direct contact with the Omniboost team as we set it up and test it together.

Does this apply to you?

This pilot applies only to properties whose accounting integration runs through Omniboost and uses an accrual (consumed) accounting flow.

Interested?

We'd love your feedback

If you have any questions, ideas or suggestions, please leave a comment below or reach out to me directly. We'd love to hear how Ledger reporting is working for your team and what you'd like to see next.

Best,

Joanna

Good morning, Joanna,

I must be dreadfully slow today, but I don't quite understand this new feature.

We use Omniboost with Fortnox, and it works well. I don't work in Fortnox myself—our controller does.

What new functionality will this offer?

Hi Mark,

Many thanks for commenting—happy to provide more context.

The main change is that the data Omniboost sends to Fortnox will come from Mews' new Ledger reporting instead of the previous reporting source (the Order Items Report).

In practice, this means:

  • Data will be sent to Fortnox at the end of each business day.
  • Ledger data is immutable, meaning any changes to past business days are sent as correction entries on the day the change is made
  • The data will reconcile directly with the new Ledger reports in Mews, including the Deposit Ledger, Guest Ledger, City Ledger (if you track invoice payments in Mews), Trial Balance and Ledger Activity Report - giving deep information about financial movements and details of outstanding balances

The data format and level of detail will remain the same. The main functional improvement is that outstanding balances, which are currently bundled together by Omniboost, can now be split into:

  • Deposit balances (prepayments)
  • Guest Ledger balances (checked-in guests)
  • City Ledger balances (unpaid invoices)

and mapped to separate account codes in Fortnox, if that is your preference.

If no changes are made to historical data after a business day has closes, the feed to Fortnox will be exactly the same as it is today. The only difference comes into play when historical data is corrected. Because Ledger data is immutable, those corrections are sent as separate correction entries on the day the change is made, preserving a complete audit trail rather than changing historical data.

I hope that helps clarify things, but I'm very happy to answer any other questions from you or your controller.

Hi Joanna,

that sounds basically great!! But also for me again to make sure that I understand it correctly:

We are currently using the integration of Omniboost, but since we need an export to the DATEV format, we cannot use this beta version yet. Right?

If DATEV is already supported, we of course definitely want to test it!!

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Niclas

Hi Niclas!

Datev is already in the pilot, we have few properties lined up to test, if you would really like to join the group, I can let Omniboost know and hopefully the can extend the Beta. From last conversations they said they would be enabling Beta pilots in mid August. Otherwise, once it is tested we could let you know and enabled for your property before official rollout → where we inform all properties and switch them over few weeks later.

Hi Joanna,

Sounds great! Feel free to let Omniboost know that I would like to join the group. I'll be happy to test this as soon as possible.

Best regards
