Morning everyone, thank you for supporting us with Beta testing the updated close bill logic. I wanted to share with you the findings from the Beta and next steps:

  • Some customers fed back that they were not comfortable with bills being automatically closed for events where there is an increased chance the bill might need to be reviewed or updated before closing. Based on this feedback we have made the decision to exclude bills owned by a Paymaster profile from the automatic bill closing logic. I.e. If a bill is balanced at check out and owned by a paymaster then it will NOT be closed and will await manual review from the event manager. We deployed this change today and will monitor feedback for the next couple of weeks.
  • The results show that the new logic increased the number of bills automatically closed within the Beta Customers by 25%. Bills that would previously have been manually closed and therefore removing manual work in those properties. However within the Beta customers the extent to which properties have benefitted varies widely. Almost half the Beta customers have seen no bills closed automatically, either because properties are not using Billing Automation and the bills remain owned by the guest or because the users are manually closing bills as part of check out.
  • Now that company bills are automatically closed at check out it is great opportunity to consider adopting company billing and routing OTA bills to the company.
