Opening a new revenue stream is about to get a whole lot easier – and consider this your invitation to be the first to benefit.

We’re about to launch new (and exciting) functionality for Mews Payments.  Multicurrency allows your guests to pay in their own currency, ensuring a better guest experience since the price they pay will match the amount on their card or bank statements. It also creates a new revenue stream for your hotel through an FX fee charged to the guest – a fee that banks traditionally keep.

Join our beta program:

  • Get early access: Experience the new feature before its official release.

  • Enjoy personalized support: Get dedicated assistance from our product team.

  • Influence product development: Your feedback will shape the final product.

Hi, Hotel Andante is also interested

Hello @Bastian Zamorano ! Sounds interessting, but a few questions come to my mind:

  • What will be the percentage of the charged amount that the hotel can receive?
    • I assume the hotels will be credited formally for accounting/taxation purpose through the monthly MEWS plattform invoice?
  • What total percentage fee is the guest charged for currency conversion service?
  • Will the guest have the option to select to pay in local currency (and let the own bank do the conversion) or home currency on the MEWS Terminals/Guest Portal?
  • Will the service be available accross all regions?
  • So, will the charged amount on the electronic receipt be in the home currency, while the posting on the bill in the local currency? How will that look in the invoice? Will the converted home currency amount also printed on the invoice along with the conversion rate?

Would be great if you could provide some more details.

Kind regards,

Jean-Philipp.

Hello! We would like to test this!

Go Hotel Ansgar - Copenhagen &

Go Hotel Saga - Copenhagen

Thanks!

Would love to see the answers to Jean-Philippe’s questions as they are all very valid!

Also, are there any fees being incurred directly to the hotel for each converted transaction?

Thanks in advance

Katherine

is entering this beta still a possibility?  We’re having to hand out refunds to clients who wind up on the wrong side of the conversion, and that creates bad-will; so we are deliberatly ensuring we lose money on every transaction via a poor chosen rate to ensure this doesn’t happen.  This is so important to us!
