Making Online Check-in Seamless for Multi-Guest Reservations

Hi Mews Community,

I would love to ask for your support and upvotes on a feature request we recently submitted regarding the Guest Portal online check-in journey. Guest Portal Feature Request

We are actively using Mews Online Check-in with passport scanning, and the overall guest feedback has been very positive. It has significantly reduced front office workload and helps guests feel welcomed before they even arrive. For single travelers, the experience works beautifully.

Where we see friction is with reservations that include multiple guests, families, or group buyouts such as weddings and events. Currently, each additional guest must receive an individual invitation to scan their passport and provide consent even if they stay in the same room. From an operational and guest experience point of view, this adds unnecessary steps and confusion, especially for families or couples.

In practice, guests often end up manually entering passport details, which then still requires physical document checks on arrival to verify accuracy. This removes the key benefit of a fully digital pre-arrival journey and creates extra work for both guests and staff.

A simple option for the primary guest to consent and scan passports for all guests within the same reservation would make the process far more seamless, reduce arrival friction, and better support properties handling group bookings and events.

This feature would be a huge step forward in delivering a truly smooth, end to end digital guest journey.

If you agree, I would really appreciate your upvote and support here:

Thank you, and I’m happy to exchange experiences with other properties facing similar challenges.

Warm regards,
