How to group nightly products per item on booking confirmation

Hi,

I'm experiencing issues with the new email confirmation template from use. For the reservation details and pricing summary I use the default settings.

My problem is that every nightly/daily service/product is added on it's own row. With bookings of multiple rooms and long stays, the confirmation becomes enormous and hard to read. I would like to have these nightly products grouped per item instead of each nightly item on a separate row.

Currently, under extra's it lists all extra's (dog per night) without a price per room/reservation.

Then under Pricing summary it lists every nightly item on its own row. This includes room price per night, city tax per day, dog per day etc.

having these two enormous lists underneath eachother makes it hard to read.

Example: I would like to go from this:

nightly stay 100

nightly stay 100

nightly stay 100

city tax 3

city tax 3

city tax 3

dog 20

dog 20

dog 20

to:

3 x nightly stay   100   300

3 x city tax           3       9

3 x dog                20    60

Is there any way to do that?

Hi @NinaKC 😀

At the moment, the new Mews confirmation template displays items per posting/per night in the Pricing summary. This means that each nightly charge (room rate, city tax, or per-night products such as a dog fee) will appear on separate rows.

Because of this design, it’s currently not possible to group identical items into a summarized format like:

  • 3 × nightly stay

  • 3 × city tax

  • 3 × dog

The structure of these sections in the template is fixed, so grouping nightly items into a single line isn’t supported right now.

As a small workaround, you can consider hiding either the Extras section or the Pricing summary in the confirmation template to reduce duplication and make the email shorter for guests.

I agree that a grouped overview would make confirmations much easier to read for longer stays or multi-room bookings, so this is definitely good feedback for future improvements.

Thank you for your reply and for suggesting a workaround. I will look into it.

It would be great if Mews would consider streamlining this. I am sure we are not the only hotel with this issue. Thanks again!
