Guests opting out of marketing emails on guest portal

Hi, we’re having a large number of guests who are opting out of our marketing emails via the guest portal.  Of course we want to be GDPR compliant but it is frustrating for our marketing efforts that happy & valuable guests are opting out before they have even received marketing communications, because the portal almost directs them to do it - and so you’d expect them to opt out if given the choice here.  Is there a way to change how this appears.  Does anyone have any advice from their experiences?  Many thanks

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to configure or change how we ask for guests to opt-in for marketing emails, legally we have to ask first before sending any emails. Failing to do so risks any sender domain being blacklisted and emails not being accepted. While we understand it’s frustrating, we have to abide by the current consumer protection laws in place.
