Hi! I'm quite new to Mews. Could anyone please tell me if there is a way of knowing if a bank account is directly linked to Mews to receive direct payments please? We have had a cancellation recently and was within 14 days of their arrival. If you go on to Charge and Close, does the payment automatically get taken via guests previously saved card and transferred in to the mews account? We usually take payments through a PDQ .Sorry I couldn't find this answer on mews.Thanks for any help!Lisa

Hi againIs there a way of seeing full card details once saved on Mews? We can only see last 4 digits and need to take a payment.

Hi all,We are using Kiosk in our hotels, but mostly as a digital registration card, but are now also testing upsell possibilities whilst using Kiosk (basically turning on the ‘before check-in’ promotion).But now we found that there is no information whatsoever to the team if and when a guest has selected these upgrades, causing complaints as we failed to deliver the requested product. Apparently this is per design? Hi! Is there any possibility of using the right arrival and departure times without overbooking my hotel because the check out time is at 12am and the next client is supposed to arrive around 11am? Thanks!!

Hey, We are using in our Hotel a Screen that you can basically set up yourself with different content also depending on what day it is. One thing i am trying to do is showing the live prices for direct booking but there is no way to scrape the prices. Did anyone ever manage that? Also would like to put the live prices on the website without clicking through the booking eninge . Is it possible to have a widget for that? Or is there any other way?  Curious if anyone ran into that. Cheers Hendrik

Hello! As far as I know, emails are always send at the preferred language of the guest. Would it be possible to always send it in English? We have our custom email and there’s important information that we want to share, but if the guest selects another language they receive the default email. Or the only way is to create emails for all languages and copy/paste the English version? Kind regards, Sergi

Hi All I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with any good guest communication programs that allow you to compose text messages to guests. Our current guest communication software does not allow this.Does anyone have any recommendations outside of Hijiffy?

There are some settings within the booking engine that always see an increase in conversion for direct bookings (space category pictures, rate descriptions, competitor price widget). Hi everyone! Just wanted to know if you are able to set up different types of “child” in the age category and if then, you can set up a brekafast rate and no city tax for them.I already have aldut and child created for the city tax but I would like to make the difference between a child from 2-12 yo that does not pay breakfast from a teenager that pays a cheaper breakfast than adults. Thanks!!

We are looking into possibly changing the language that we use for rebates. We want to make it as simple as possible for our Front Desk staff to understand what it is they are doing when they hit the rebate button as well as educating them through the process when doing a rebate.

Is there any easy and quick way to see how often a guest has stayed?

Was wondering if anyone has a good format for running the accounting ledger report to get a better idea of how long an account has been in an open status from when the guest departed?

Dear Mewsers,We have been experiencing an ongoing issue with pre-authorizations not being released promptly after guest departures. Typically, the pre-authorization is cancelled on the following day, but we have been receiving frequent complaints from our guests stating that the pre-authorization remains blocked on their cards even after three weeks from their departure. We would like to understand if other hotels are also facing similar challenges with pre-authorizations not being released in a timely manner. It seems that the bank card companies are holding onto the funds even after we have released the pre-authorization. Is it legal for the bank card companies to retain the funds for such an extended period, even after the hotel has released the pre-authorization?Any insights, suggestions, or advice on how we can address this issue would be greatly appreciated. Hi MEWS Community! My hotel is in Indonesia, we are applying service charge and VAT. In MEWS we have to create service charge as a product hence rate+service charge will be sent to CRS (we are using SynXis/Sabre). We want to be able to send naked rate without service charge to CRS, and service charge to be displayed same as VAT. Anyone has similar situation and what is your setup in MEWS? Hello Community! I am having a hard time understanding the difference between optional and inquired reservations. If a potential guest decides to book an inquiry, how do I know that it has been booked? Should I send optional quotes instead? Should I follow up with guests I have sent an inquiry quote too? If guest confirm optional quotes, how do they show up in the reporting? Please Help! Thank you.

Is there a way to remove a cancelled room from a group reservation?  It is getting a bit confusing with it hanging out at the bottom of the right-hand pane.  There is nothing I can see to be done with it there, and our front desk people are being overwhelmed. I’d love to even move it to another group.  Is there a way to move a single room off of a group to another?As I type this, I’m sure there must be?

We are soon upon our winter ski season when rooming list are very popular. Is there a way to add a rooming list into the availability block? 

Hello! Travel agents receive commissions based off our dynamic rates and group rates added into the block. We have built a TA contract for an agent and added the company to the group block, however, the commission does not report on the rooming list. When will TA commission show on reports? After check in, after creating the reservation, or after check out? 

Hello Community! Does anyone know of a way I can report the anticipated revenue from an added availability block? We need to report the value of the initial contract and currently need to manually calculate. Thank you.
