I would like to create a rate or a public voucher, that does not include automatic emails from MEWS to the guest after confirmation. Is this possible?  

Help from Spain based properties,When taking pre payments, a deposit is required to account for tax at the time of payment. To close an invoice to the fiscal registry guest passport/ID details are required. How do you manage to collect passport/ID details at the time of booking or how do you get around the requirement to have this information in order to close invoices? Thanks for advice! 

Has anyone a workaround or been able to edit the local data collection regulations setup in MEWS when they’re incorrectly mandating for information from guests that isn’t legislation.Our profile completion rate is low due to guests not completing the Date of Birth section and the photo ID requirement, neither of which are legislation in this country.

Dear Mews freaks,I am facing a challenge and would like to hear your opinions and possible solutions. Our hotel offers rooms and breakfast and creates invoices in Mews at check-out for all reservations. We also have a nice terrace where we sell drinks to passersby. For these terrace sales we create invoices under the name "external terrace". However, it becomes difficult to request name and address information for billing purposes from every customer who drinks a coffee or a Coke on the terrace.I was recently informed by the tax authorities that every invoice must officially include the customer's name and address. Missing this information can result in a fine between 50 and 500 euros per invoice, depending on the invoice amount. Since I do not exceed 25,000 euros per year for these terrace sales, I do not need to purchase a white cash register.Do any of you have experience with a similar problem and perhaps a suggestion for a solution? I've raised this issue a while ago with the premium support, they agreed it was a bug, but told me to 'raise awereness' on the forum to get it fixed. Instead of just fixing it. So here goes:What is going wrong:I set up a rule for Service A to send all prepaid reservations + products for travel agency A to a paymaster. This works fine.   Then I set up bookable service B to send all prepaid reservations + products for the same  travel agency A to the same paymaster.   Then the second rule works fine, but the first rule suddently "forgets" to send the products, and only sends nights.   And when you go and fix rule number 1, then rule number 2 starts forgetting to send the products.End result: We are stuck with hundreds of tourist tax, breakfast and cleaning fee items on the guests bill, and not on the paymasters. Can somebody tell a developer? Or tell me if I might be doing something wrong here?

Could you please let me know, if that’s the correct way to find them:Accounting ledger report – Mode: Grouped – Type: General – Date: 31.12.2023 23:59 – Group by: Accounting category. And then after ‘view report’ the ‘open prepayments’ are for the guests who paid for their future stay in 2024? Thank you in advance for your help!

Is it possible, and if so how, to set up a payment rule that automates the charging of a remaining balance due on the morning of a reservation’s arrival/start date?At the time of booking through the booking engine on our website, we collect payment for the first night’s room/tax plus any add-ons included during the booking/confirmation process. For multi-night reservations, the remaining balance is comprised of room/tax for nights 2 and beyond. I have not been able to figure out how to do set up a settlement rule. My first rule collects 100% of the first night plus additional expenses an products. When I attempt to create a second rule, I get an error message advising me “The sum of settlement values from all settlement rules with ‘Charge payment card’ action related to the parent rate group with ID… cannot be more than 100%”. Makes sense, but he only other option is a flat amount. 

I asked the AI support bot how I can post offline charges to room accounts but found no relevant information in the results or guidance offered. Our Square POS terminals in our outlets are not integrated with Mews because this integration hasn’t been released yet (or hadn’t as of late last year). Our Guests want to be able to charge their purchases from our outlets to their room accounts, including bar and restaurant checks. At our outlets, a Guest’s charge can be settled to a comp account in Square to balance the POS system and then the charge is physically passed off to the hotel’s front desk for the charge to be added to the Guest’s account manually. I have a tricky one for you all & hope someone has a creative solution.Without having to create new space categories - you can quickly end with hundreds,…. how would you go about setting a price (supplement) for a feature.Let’s assume that we have 4 floors, and want to add €10 as a floor number feature for all spaces in a specific category.The Space category is Deluxe room and all the relevant spaces are attached.on the first floor no supplement with the base price being €200 on the second floor there is a floor supplement of €10 + €200 = €210 on the third floor there is a floor supplement of €20 + €200 = €220 on the fourth floor there is a supplement of €30 + € 200 = €230The same thought can be applied to other categories or other attributes like courtyard view, as opposed to park view.The only logical solution I can find would be to create a new space category for each floor & feature, and then

Hi there!Currently when a rate is setup as based upon another rate (base rate) it is only possible to setup one fixed adjustment. However, since we offer rates with and without breakfast, occupancy based adjustments need to be different between rates with and without breakfast (for example).Wouldn’t a setup option be nice that allows to not derive all room / occupancy prices from the base rate,  but only derive the base rate by a certain adjustment and setup the occupancy adjustments and room type adjustments.So like:Base rate: xyz-Rate (← the one the new rate is derived from)Options:A: derive only base rate (room type and occupancy adjustments can be set in the derived rate, just as in a normal rate, only base rate itself cannot be set manually) B: derive base rate and room rates (only occupancy based adjustment can be set in the derived rate, base rate and relations of rates for room types is derived from base rate)

We a boutique property that is in the process of switching to Mews…  We offer a fully contactless experience to our guests using an SMS guest communication & online check-in system (Akia) along with mobile keys (flexipass). But we are hitting a wall on setting up our system with Mews because we absolutely need contact info for at least one occupant in every room (otherwise we can not issue mobile keys).We had it working quite well on our previous PMS (despite that PMS’s numerous other failings) because by default they only allowed 1 room per booking, therefore always had contact info for every room.Does anyone in the community have any suggestions on how to approach this? NOTE: Our property does not have a traditional reception/front desk with staff available for manual check-in and the front door to our property is secured to allow key access only. So kiosk for check-in on arrival is not possible.

Hi Collegues,I wonder if someone has found a solution for the problem if a guests without a reservation is arriving after midnight. How can he create a reservation for this night on a website that is using the booking machine of MEWS. Right now he can only reserve a room for the next day.The background is that we only have one security guard at night and he should not have access to the booking system. MEWS, the payment terminals and the key card system are already connected. The only thing missing is that the guest can book independently via the homepage.

Does anyone else experience a variance between the totals that these two reports deliver for the same dates “Managers report vs Reservations report Group by SEGMENT” 

Hi all, We used an availability block for a wedding so guests could book their own rooms for blocked dates and a specific rate.We see that by using the Availability Block - those reservations are now considered to be part of a single GROUP; while in fact they are all separate reservations. How can we make all of those reservations Independant reservations?  Removing them from the group.
