Wir hatten einen Business-Gast, der früher abreisen musste und bei dem die Rechnung für den Gesamtaufenthalt bereits bezahlt war. Er sagte, dass das egal ist und die Rechnung einfach so bleiben soll.Wenn ich dann das Zimmer aber freigeben möchte, kann ich keinen Check-out machen, ohne die Buchung entsprechend zu verkürzen. Bei der Verkürzung werden aber die Stornogebühren berechnet, so, wie ich sie eingetragen habe. In dem Fall würde der Gast eine Rückerstattung bekommen, die er aber gar nicht haben wollte. Wie kann ich das lösen, dass ich das Zimmer frühzeitig auschecke und ich den Stornobetrag selbst festlegen kann? Ich würde den in dem Fall einfach höher setzen, aber ich sehe keine Einflussmöglichkeit.Vielen Dank und viele GrüßeHeike

We can't really find anything reasonable on the Internet that doesn't look too cheap. Do any of you also have a self-check-in station with a card dispenser and can you recommend one?I would be grateful for any tips.

Housekeeping software

Hi All, We are looking for some good mobile first housekeeping software to implement with Mews. The Functionality in mews is to limiting for us and is not clear enough on the housekeepers side. One of the most important features is the realtime room/space status in mews, so once a room is marked as clean by a housekeeper it should instantly update the space status to clean or inspected in Mews. Also, housekeepers should see all booked products and note’s clearly, not hidden away somewhere and what would be even better if they would get a “task list” per room with everything that should be done extra like adding rose petals or a bottle of champagne. After some research I found Flexkeeper and it looks really appealing with all the features we would like to see. But I was wondering if there is anybody here who has experience with Flexkeeper or perhaps any other tool that works for them.

confirmation email reservation details not detailed enough

Dear community,we still have a lot of elder guests that book with us directly.Also most guests stay with us for several days. As far as I can see the mews confirmation email only displays a total price for all services of all days together (like logis, breakfast, dog fee and whatnot).It’s very hard to do a follow up if a guest insists that a specific part of the offer was discussed differently on the phone ( e.a. dog fee 15€ instead of 30€, rate on a specific day of the stay should be different).I am sure we are not the only ones facing this problem.How did you solve this? Is there a great workaround?We would very much appreciate help :). Best wishes

Hi all,How do you prevent minors from checking in independently via the Mews self check-in kiosk?This past weekend, we experienced a situation at one of our properties where a minor checked in independently via the Mews kiosk, which is actually not legally allowed in our region. We'd like to avoid this happening again.Does anyone know if there are settings, automations, or practical solutions within Mews to help prevent underage guests from checking in without supervision?For example: ID checks, date of birth validation, or automatic alerts when an underage guest tries to check in?Thanks! Omniboost Import DATEV

Guten morgen liebe Community,wir sind im Januar mit MEWS gestartet und haben riesige Probleme mit der Anbindung an Datev.Wir haben bereits im Dezember die Anbindung an Omniboost aktiviert und bis heute schafft es Omniboost nicht, uns die Anbindung zur Verfügung zu stellen bzw. ins Laufen zu bekommen. Das heißt wir sind buchhalterisch und umsatzsteurmässig quasi blind.Hat jemand von euch, einen Tipp wie wir die Daten aus Mews rein und nach DATEV reinbekommen?Im Grunde ist es ja nur eine csv Datei mit dem korrekten Datenmapping - nichts wildes, aber Omniboost bekommt es nicht hin.Ich verzweifle und wäre für einen Tipp sehr dankbar.Viele GrüßeClaudia Will

Override Restrictions

Hi Fellow Mewser, I´m trying to find a way to override restrictions. Once a (rate-)restriction is set, no one might be able to override them. Is there a way to give some users (like Mangager / Admin accounts) the permission to override restrictions? Turn Off Space Optimization?

Hi,We are an inn and have somewhat differing rooms even though they share the same category so we must have room optimization allocated by a human. It is now too easy for the staff to press on the space optimization button and “destroy” the work that was done manually. Communicating Average Nightly Rates in the Booking Engine

Hoping someone can assist me with an answer! We have a dynamic rate structure. The MEWS booking engine displays an average nightly rate when potential guests are shopping. However, guests are not made aware that the rate is an average rate and not a nightly rate. Has anyone ran into this issue and how did you get around it? Also does anyone have a suggestion on how to send rate breakdowns after booking? Thank you community!!

After midnight Mews Kiosk CheckIn fails because room status changed to dirty

Hello!Self-Checkin after midnight seems to be not possible, because the room status becomes reset to dirty at midnight even though the respective reservation has not been checked in yet. When the guest arrives after midnight check in is denied because „room not ready“.is there a work around or setting I missed?it would help if the time the cleaning status becomes reset could be set to a later time, like 4 am…what are your tips and experiences?kind regards,Jean-Philipp.

Parent Room inventory - BWH CRS

Hi there,Is there a way to manage parent room categories when using a CRS connectivity that calculates availability based on reservations rather than being sent per room type?For example, if we have two Standard Rooms with connecting doors that can also be booked as a "Family Room," the issue arises when both Standard Rooms are reserved. In Mews, the Family Room correctly becomes unavailable, but in the CRS, it remains bookable since no reservations are directly blocking that category. The same issue occurs in reverse—if the Family Room is booked, the Standard Rooms remain available in the CRS.Currently, the integration does not support parent room functionality, but developing this feature could unlock significant revenue potential. For example, when a family of four wants to book through our system, only the family room should be shown, not the standard room. Wenn ein Gast über den Mews Kiosk eincheckt und eine Zimmerkarte erstellt, wird die Zimmernummer nicht angezeigt. Der Kartenerstellungsprozess wird in Mews als „in Arbeit“ angezeigt, und anschließend erscheint eine Fehlermeldung.Ablauf des Problems:Der Gast checkt über den Mews Kiosk ein. Die Zimmerkarte wird erstellt und ausgegeben. Im Mews Kiosk bleibt der Status „Kartenerstellungsprozess in Arbeit“.
